Quantum Break coming to PC on April 05

And what's with 980? It kinda looks like a shitty card now with all these 980Ti requirements first in ROTTR and now in QB. You may as well just throw it away cuz it sucks and only has 4 GB of VRAM. Damn.

The 980 is in a weird place, you should either go for the 970 or a Ti.

Great news all around, especially for X1 owners with all that free stuff, including a PC code.

I take it we can read the Windows 10 exclusivity as confirmation of DX12? I really hope there's great multi-GPU support, after what a terrible year 2015 was for multi-GPU users.

I think looking at it as Microsoft moving away from console is a bit backwards. This is more about driving Windows 10 adoption, as Nadella recognizes games are the keystone of every digital platform, writing as much when he took the job. The modern model of digital content is to get your products on as many storefronts as possible, regardless of device.

PC gaming will never have the entry price or marketing power to compete with the mass appeal of consoles. Microsoft likely isn't moving to PC or to Steam machines. The Xbox One already is a Windows device optimized for television.

Not to say there won't be any attrition. With DX12, Polaris and all these games, I think 2016 is going to be a huge, huge year for PC gaming.

Nadella seems concerned with advancing the Microsoft software platform. So... sure that means Xbox but it means PC too.

I kept waiting for a game that would make me want an Xbox One. I'll keep waiting I guess. Got a PC and a PS4 so with this news I see no need to even consider buying a bone. What possible game could they make exclusive that would change my mind? It would have to be a Rockstar game at this point I think. GTA6 or RDR2 on Xbone only would make me think real hard but otherwise...but not meaning to be negative in any way - good news for everyone if games are available in multiple places.

Win-win(dows) situation for Microsoft in the grand scheme of things. Larger install base by extending onto multiple platforms while still retaining the "exclusive" moniker. Those invested in PC gaming are benefiting big time.

MS had better fix their games from the store on Windows 10 beforehand. Rise of the Tomb Raider crashes on exit sometimes, forcing my mouse cursor to disappear on the desktop (among other things), has no exclusive fullscreen mode and therefore no SLI support, locks down the game's files, didn't get the first patch until days after the Steam version...it's a mess.

I don't think anybody at Microsoft or Remedy has said one way or another, so no. I think it's pretty clear, though.

well, a lot of people assumed that ROTTR would be a win10 store exclusive, too, but it ended up coming to steam as well.

I think the fact that they haven't out and out stated that it's a Win10 store exclusive means that they're giving themselves that out. I can see a scenario where they release a steam version of the game that is excluded from the crossbuy promotion to help encourage more people to go the crossbuy route

it's definitely win10 exclusive though thanks to dx12

I wasn't expecting it to be out so soon, especially on PC.

The first half of this year is absolutely packed. I better start preparing for the homeless life now as I'll have nothing left by June.

I am wondering if there will be a Windows 10 OS requirement. Would make sense if it is running DX12 plus it would give a reason for people to upgrade that have been holding out. Think it will ever make it to steam like Rise of the Tomb Raider? Or this one might be Windows Store only? Something to ask Phil I guess since several other people above wondered the same thing.

That's pretty cool. I really enjoyed Max Payne & Alan Wake, and find myself willing to trust Remedy with a (near) day one purchase.

Thanks, Microsoft.

It's already confirmed to be Windows 10 exclusive.

This is nothing but a good thing. I wasn't going to by a xbox one just to play this game, but I will buy if the PC port is good.

Recommend a 980 Ti? and 6GB of VRAM? Damn. PC port will either be amazing or dogshit. No middleground with those specs.

Why would a rational person have done this? Game is still months off, and nobody ever said it wasn't coming to PC.

I know a guy, but I cannot speak on how rational he is.

Edit: To clarify: he bought an Xbox for Quantum Break, D4 and Halo Collection. 2 out of 3 where made available on PC after he made the decision to jump in and buy an Xbox.

I get why people could be pissed. If you bought an Xbox for Quantum Break and you already had a PC, bummer.

And that is not at all the case with CrapGamer. He's mad for crap reasons.

On another note nobody can bash MS for PC support now! Loving MS right now. I will get all those games now. The devs and MS deserve all the success for this decision.

Bring on Halo MC collection and 5!

Ugh just wish there was a physical edition. With Amazon cutting prices on physical preorders it'd be nice to save some money.
