Gran Turismo Sport announced

No.

My disdain for NFS shift runs deep but PCars drives a million times better. Its issues come from the amount of bugs and shit initial settings for both wheels and especially controllers. Also the UI is just bad. But aside from that its a good game if you can look last those issues.

The UI was the worst thing for PCars for me, at least from what I played on a friend's PC.

3 years after PS4 launch and still no GT to be seen : Meanwhile 2 Forza Motorsport have been released.

Is it some kind of a joke.

PD really is the laughing stock of the industry : We were supposed to get a demo/beta at the beginning of this year and we got nothing.

I didn't bought GT6 after the joke called GT5 that took forever to come out and was half-finished when it did.

That serie cannot rely on its name anymore : This is their last shot before completely annihilating what's left of their credibility.

3 years after XboxOne launch and still no weather effects or daytime transitions in FM to be seen : Meanwhile, two Gran Turismo games on PS3 have been released with both.

Is it some kind of a joke.

T10 really is the laughing stock of the industry : We were supposed to get a weather effects or daytime transitions in FM even on the past generation of the consoles and we got nothing.

I didn't bought FM5 after the joke called FM4 that took forever to try to implement those, and at the end, with FM6 offering it, it was half-finished when it did.

PRO HINT: See, it *always* work both ways.

EVEN MORE PRO HINT: Complex games are complex to develop.

PRO MEGA HINT: Never do such thing in GT/FM threads.

OH GOD

I was simply trying to be sarcastic over his dumb post

Hello Pepto, hello guys, please let us be normal as we learned on the hard way in past decade

It is tempting time that awaits all of us in both corners, as well as those who intercepts everything in the middle

I like Forza a lot and I thought your post was great. Both GT and Forza have issues that can leave you in disbelief.

That "sim-value" post was really too far, not true, not funny.

Back on topic:
What do you think how cockpit-cam movement from bump-shakes should be handled in VR? What I'm seeing is that people start feeling unwell as soon as the camera movement is not in their control in VR. Will that be true for bump-shaking too and will we then have a sedated car feel in VR then? Has anyone experience with that?

Rapier wit per usual Amar. On point sir.

Regarding shake in VR, perhaps the cockpit around you may jostle a bit, but the road and environment is stable.

Good question.

I don't want beta anymore (early 2016! lol) The only thing I want these days is a simple trailer, not even a gameplay video. PD can make a 2 minute trailer and show us some cars and tracks, can't they? is it a strange request from a GT fan?

I was thinking of a steady helmet rim as a fallback solution. Both ideas aren't optimal.

They could have a black screen with the words "all in game car sounds" with some new engine sounds and we'd all be hyped again. Would cost them an hour of production time to make something like that, but no.

tapedeck

Do I win a prize for talking about my penis on the Internet???
At this point what are the odds a full GT7 still comes out for PS4 Basic..?

Just a little post to say that I heard on Nolife TV (french channel) that a guy called Cyril Drevet made a little documentary for a french program called Turbo, showing a bit of Kazunori Yamauchi and Dan Greenawalt's life.
Apparently this took 3 years to do, so I don't know if all the footage are recent or not. But I think the video have been shot recently.
(Source here, in french, starting @ 15:40 : http://noco.tv/emission/31956/nolife/interview/cyril-drevet )

The documentary is here (also in french...) : http://www.turbo.fr/videos-voiture/...-motorsport-emission-turbo-du-03-04-2016.html

Basically, there's not much information about GT or Forza, I just saw that, for GT :
- They are speaking about a playseat they are developing, with some nice feedback (for example, the seat reproduce some left/right movements when your car is drifting). This may be only for development purpose, not retail, I dunno.
- In the end, Kaz said that "more than a evolution of GT5 or GT6, this is a restart, like if we were doing GT1 again" (speaking about GT Sport).

Cyril said also on Nolife that he have hours of footage including others interview with Kaz that haven't been broadcasted, he may share these footage soon. This might be interesting.

Sorry, and to think that I searched a little bit to be sure that this haven't been posted before... I should have searched further :-/
Well, at least I add a little bit of information about the creator of this :D (and my link don't need subscription :p )

Oh, and I forgot to add that at the end of the video, the voice say "GT Sport will be released at an unknown date before the end of the year".

The bolded words fill me with dread.

So much for them being able to use GT6 to make next gen development easier.

2018 it is.

Hopefully just a philosophical restart, using assets and code from GT6.

Aaaah, who am I kidding?

You know when Kaz says it's a restart its really a restart. He's staring at a blank screen without any code thinking about his emotions and how he wants people to feel like when they are playing the game.

He will get started some day.

As long as it's good. I can wait for great things. GT is a must have for me, at least one every generation. PLayStation doesn't feel complete without a GT title next to it. Hurry it up Kaz, but don't sacrifice quality.

If they use any old assets that are well dated, or the lame premium/standard cars thing, I am officially done with this series.

Lol the kaz dev cycle.
After officially announcing new game: We need to do it from scratch.
After release: we can build on it for future games
Repeat

:(

Ugh...He's not saying saying it's a restart as in they just tossed out everything they've ever built and started over. He simply feels like it's a new beginning for the series. It's why it's giving him the same feeling he had when he developed GT1.

He's just saying that this game is like a new beginning for the series for him.
Not that they're scapping everything and doing it again :D

Tbh I don't think anyone is surprised by delays at Polyphony, if everything goes well we'll play the beta by the end of this year and the full game by the end of 2017.
What I'm most concerned with is that this marks a new beginning not just because of the whole e-sport thing, but because they're really putting their time to try to go finally over the classical limits of the series.

Any chance this launches this year?

I'm hoping for it, since it's supposed to be a "focused" Sport stuff for GT game... with online stuff.

I hope they say at E3 it comes this year.

Beta was planned for early 16 with a release later this year.

Given they wiffed the beta date I think it's safe to say they are missing 2016 as well.

The complete silence from Sony about it now is telling it has gone into PD dev hell. If this was launching with vr we would know.

So I guess if E3 shows nothing we're boned... *holds breath*

The latest update we had last year was saying "Spring" 2016 for the Beta, so I guess we could see a psblog post at any time through April or May announcing the Beta within 2 weeks of its reveal #shrug.

I say no chance.

Kind of hard to believe that GT3 came out a year after PS2 launch.

Really wish Sony would impose some discipline on this team. This isn't a mission to Mars, it's a damn sim racer.

Yea it kind of sucks.

I bet Polyphony was one of the first, if not the first developer under Sony, to learn of the new hardware capabilities (PS4 and I assume PS4K as well.... and PS VR too I bet).

Gonna keep praying for this E3......

I guess its nice to have hope. No matter how small.

For me I see a game that hasn't barely been talked about publicly since it was announced 6 months ago that Sony didnt mention once when taking about PS VR or when talking about its big first party 2016 games at GDC.

IMO it seems like the plan was to have GT has the big PS VR game. Its pre release cycle would have gone side and side with PS VR.

When GT didnt get mentioned once when they where taking about PS VR's release date, price or games I put 2 and 2 together. This game aint coming anytime soon.

Not to mention Project Cars was released in a timely manner on PS4! Of course the retail version (which is up to version 10.00) still feels like an Alpha for an upcoming game, one that could have done with a lot more development time.

Maybe more development time is a good thing if it means a good and polished product at the end of it.

What because GT5 launched as a finished product?
