So glad more people, the press included is getting a better idea about this guy. I sort of smelled it from the start with the way he said things and the tone his rhetoric took, especially after the hack.

The hack was my first sort of "waaaaait a minute" moment but even then I never would have guessed he would fall this far

Jesus Christ at that statement, but it's classic Sanders. He's done this before. Issue a statement that's reflective of what he appears to want, then later on clarify.

I just can't, anymore. Voted Hillary, but liked Sanders. Now that we're here, I think I'm done with the like.

I am seriously getting a lot of Gamergate vibes around here from some Bernie supporters. The language being used is extremely similar.

Oh please. The man has been pushing the whole "woe is me, the establishment is corrupt and oppressing me and my voters" rhetoric since February, and it gets worse and worse every week. He and his campiegn attracted this vile shit, so they are partially responsible for this happening.

He's been pushing that since before February. He's been pushing that since just before his team hacked into his opponent's records and then acted like they were the victim.

This whole thing is absolutely disgusting. Sanders' weak as shit condemnation of this is really disappointing as well. The past few months or so has made me regret supporting him.

"Our campaign of course believes in non-violent change and it goes without saying that I condemn any and all forms of violence, including the personal harassment of individuals. But, when we speak of violence, I should add here that months ago, during the Nevada campaign, shots were fired into my campaign office in Nevada and apartment housing complex my campaign staff lived in was broken into and ransacked."

Haven't seen anyone mention that second sentence. That may have happened but he is deliberately feeding into conspiracy theory. He's basically saying, "Well of course I don't condone violence and harassment, but this stuff happened at our campaign office. Was it Hillary shills that did it? You decide."

That's the most limp dick excuse for an apology I've seen in a long while. Deflections and "what about X" all over the place. This GE should be a slam dunk for the left. If Sanders does anything (or fails to do anything) that ruins it for the Left, history will not look kind on him.

It's like he wants to be lumped with Nader. That's what he wants his legacy to be. The guy who was Nader in 2016 and got Trump elected.

Exactly.

It's gross bullshit. It only feeds further anger and violence.

Ignoring the violence in that statement is essentially an endorsement of the violence. Simple as that. I'm fed up with him.

Fucking piece of shit

This is not the right statement to put out.

Ugh. Dude.

What still blows my mind is that all of this is a result of a bunch of people trying to overturn a caucus result by packing a convention. At the same time claiming they are champions of democracy.

If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, quacks like a duck..

When these people are doing the same tactics as Gamergate, using the same or similar language as Gamergate, and the people defending it are diverting the main issue with cries of "ethics"... Don't be surprised others start comparing them to Gamergate.

That's the line that really got on to me. I can't believe how I was pro-Bernie just 3 months ago and now I downright hate the man and his entire campaign.

I see why Trump has some cross over appeal with Sanders supporters. Both Trump and Sanders are whiny babies that blame all their problems on others and take no responsibility for their actions.

i've been begging for over 5 years.
I condemn any and all forms of violence, including the personal harassment of individuals.
But,

GTFO with this bullshit. Just as bad as Trump now IMO.

PRESS RELEASE
Sanders Statement on Nevada
MAY 17, 2016
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders on Tuesday issued the following statement:

“It is imperative that the Democratic leadership, both nationally and in the states, understand that the political world is changing and that millions of Americans are outraged at establishment politics and establishment economics. The people of this country want a government which represents all of us, not just the 1 percent, super PACs and wealthy campaign contributors.

“The Democratic Party has a choice. It can open its doors and welcome into the party people who are prepared to fight for real economic and social change – people who are willing to take on Wall Street, corporate greed and a fossil fuel industry which is destroying this planet. Or the party can choose to maintain its status quo structure, remain dependent on big-money campaign contributions and be a party with limited participation and limited energy.

“Within the last few days there have been a number of criticisms made against my campaign organization. Party leaders in Nevada, for example, claim that the Sanders campaign has a ‘penchant for violence.’ That is nonsense. Our campaign has held giant rallies all across this country, including in high-crime areas, and there have been zero reports of violence. Our campaign of course believes in non-violent change and it goes without saying that I condemn any and all forms of violence, including the personal harassment of individuals. But, when we speak of violence, I should add here that months ago, during the Nevada campaign, shots were fired into my campaign office in Nevada and apartment housing complex my campaign staff lived in was broken into and ransacked.

“If the Democratic Party is to be successful in November, it is imperative that all state parties treat our campaign supporters with fairness and the respect that they have earned. I am happy to say that has been the case at state conventions in Maine, Alaska, Colorado and Hawaii where good discussions were held and democratic decisions were reached. Unfortunately, that was not the case at the Nevada convention. At that convention the Democratic leadership used its power to prevent a fair and transparent process from taking place. Among other things:

The chair of the convention announced that the convention rules passed on voice vote, when the vote was a clear no-vote. At the very least, the Chair should have allowed for a headcount.
The chair allowed its Credentials Committee to en mass rule that 64 delegates were ineligible without offering an opportunity for 58 of them to be heard. That decision enabled the Clinton campaign to end up with a 30-vote majority.
The chair refused to acknowledge any motions made from the floor or allow votes on them.
The chair refused to accept any petitions for amendments to the rules that were properly submitted.
“These are on top of failures at the precinct and county conventions including trying to depose and then threaten with arrest the Clark County convention credentials chair because she was operating too fairly.”

I looked this up because I'd either never heard of it or forgot about it. Apparently a bullet hole was found in a Sanders campaign office window at a time when Sanders would have been "on site", but no bullet was ever found, and no one seems to have actually witnessed a shot. Police were investigating it, but it doesn't seem to have gone anywhere.

I don't know why he even mentions it besides to incite a conspiracy through implication (as is his norm). Finding a hole in your window is unsettling, but it doesn't excuse or justify the threats that the committee is getting.

This deserves a new thread IMO. Absolutely disgusting what he's doing.

...but he really didn't do anything wrong.

Is it too much to ask him to do something right? Can we hold potential leaders of our country to a higher standard here? He is just sitting back and letting a group sow discord in his name because it's politically advantageous.

He is strip mining a party's integrity to gain political power.

The way some of the most fervent supporters were not grounded in reality, this felt like a logical conclusion for at least a few of them.

Sad to see him defending them. There is zero excuse for this.

the shouting down of Senator Boxter is the nail in the coffin for the Bernie camp.

the ''swaying of superdelegtates'' was a rediculous position from Bernie is now confirmed as Game Over.

Why the hell would you ever put a but after I don't support violence....that's just tacit acceptance.

I hope the remaining supers end this today. I'm so done with this primary on both sides.

He's actually gone further than the horrible version of Clinton at the end of the 2008 primaries

I'm not even sure Sanders is grounded in reality. I want to live in this Bernie Sander's Utopia if he could just explain how he is making any of it happen... or how he would get the ball rolling during his term to make it a reality one day. Just sounds like a bunch of dreams with unrealistic price tags right now. Kind of explains a lot of his supporters. And now this... Is Sanders trying to employ Trump tactics in his last hours of desperation? Disgusting. Makes my vote for Clinton automatic.

Seriously starting to regret voting for Bernie.

I didn't expect him to go scorched earth if he wasn't the victor.

So Bernie decided he's going to end his losing campaign this way.

Worse, actually. I expect this kind of childish behavior from the right (look at Trump's campaign and the human scum that makes up his support base). Seeing it from the (supposed) left is just disgusting, and the people who support/enable it (Bernie included) should be ashamed.

I'm hoping this becomes his 'under sniper fire' moment.

Basically, what I think happened this weekend is similar to this:

Remember that time you were in a debate in a public forum. You had some great data supporting your position. You had water tight logic. But as the debate went on, it got more and more heated, and your opposition just wouldn't listen. Then you don't really know how it happened, but at some point you snapped and you got personal, or you lashed out, or turned over a table...

And all of a sudden... it didn't matter how good your data was. It didn't matter how water tight your logic was.

You could see it in the reaction of everyone who had been following along. You'd lost the debate. Not because you were wrong. But because you went too far.
