There's some guy named Long Sensation on twitter saying that it's just jealous smaller YouTube channels that are trying to take down a more successful one. Are these people blind? Or just stupid?

why are people even attempting to defend them?

Shared interests, friends, idols, shady themselves or because it's the internet and for the sake of arguing and getting the spotlight people will defend anything.

Basically take your pick from a ton of reasons as to why. As said on GAF there is usually a defence force for anything if the individuals involved can get some attention. Or maybe followers themselves as the defenders of these two shady fucks will flock to others defending them.

Money, popularity and attention are irresistible to many humans. No matter the cost.

It is a work, brother.

It's easy to see why some fans look back at this and consider TmarTn not to have been completely open about his business enterprise.
Talk about understatement.
Why weren't the pair more upfront about their ownership until now? Why did TmarTn pretend to stumble upon the site, or say he did not initially own it when business records show he was there from its inception?
Are these guys afraid of getting sued or what?

Oh, btw, is there already a mirror upload of his panic rant?

That is super shady.

It coming from so called influencers is even more delicious. Perfect example of why not to trust most of these people with anything.

lol dat doubling down

"There's reporting news, then there's just making shit up," he wrote. "It's gonna be really funny when a huge slander law suit pops off and makes an example of some of these guys."

I don't think doubling or even tripling down has ever paid off for anyone online so I fail to see why people keep trying it.

Once you're caught online the evidence isn't going away. Idiots.

While I rarely share my opinion on this sort of thing, as I know one of the people involved I thought I'd share my thoughts. So, I know Tom (ProSyndicate) not super super well, but we worked together on YouTube (Minecraft content) for a few years and I personally have appeared in videos with him and such.

If he legitimately called out to go to this CSGO Lottery Site and said that he found it (rather than founded/owns it)...etc then that's clearly directly lying to his audience and misleading them. I would actually suggest that saying he owns it and is apart of it may actually get MORE of his audience to use it - people love that sort of shit especially big YouTuber endorsed sites/games. I wonder if there's something in the YouTube advertising/content creator terms of service about promoting gambling without age restrictions on your videos and maybe that's why they don't want to promote the site as something they own?

Anyway, I don't know this TmarTn guy but Tom has always been nice and quite forthcoming online and in person so I don't think he or those he'd associate themselves with would be inherently malicious but that's just my assumption - maybe there's much more to this than meets the eye.

Edit: Just a quick follow up as I'm reading some of the articles. If they truly did say that they 'found' this website and had no prior knowledge then it's a total dick move - however, I've seen people show off websites and take part in games they've made without even mentioning they were involved in there creations before - this, however, does not look like their approach when talking about this Lotto in their videos.

Edit 2: After reading more and more, clearly this was a direct act to promote and gain income from gambling on their own site. Many of those involved acting as if they had never heard or seen the website initially. This is a poor use the of trust of the subscribers, fans, viewers...etc and also a directly legal violation. Not cool at all.

It's just a notice, not a block.

For a laugh I just tried to log in and it is blocking me from even logging into the site that means anyone with inventory still on the site can't get it back now.

Valve has not obligation directing its users towards a SCAMMING SITE

I get that but the login in via steam option on csgo lotto site just takes you to that blocked page so people cant even get their skins back now.

*edit* Didn't see the message that lets you click through to the site at your own risk.

Fantastic to see YouTube used in this way. I don't know whether this is illegal or just completely shady as fuck, but shame on both of them for this behaviour. I hope this annihilates their fanbase.

The evidence is there and that specific guy has been in trouble before as mentioned on the Eurogamer site.

No point in putting on blinkers and doubling down for a "friend". They were caught and evidence is there.

It's best if people that know them just stay quiet if they want to avoid the drama and/or upsetting a friendship. Not defy evidence and end up looking daft themselves.

Even if he DID say up front that he owned it you can not then proceed to create videos showing you winning big money.... You can not use your own gambling sight. That is a massive conflict of interest as you can control it. Even if you do not control it you simply can not afford to have the opportunity to as many will believe that you are in fact controlling it.

It is shady no matter how you look at it... even if honest up front (which they were not at all) what they were doing was wrong.

There's a small link under the red box that says you can click through to the site at your own risk (in the screenshot anyway, I haven't tried)

This is only the start.

As I said there are so many people who are really playing down how serious this is.

There'll be a lot of people eating their words soon.....

I find it funny how Tmartn has gone one step further and removed the videos (as opposed to simply editing the descriptions).

I think it's safe to say that Trevor Martin is beginning to realise how serious this might just be....

Yeah i agree, this is the first time he didn't mention owning something and failing to disclose it.... Oh wait! Your buddy seems to be a shady fuck.

Almost everyone is nice, to a degree, especially in person, including those who behind closed doors commit terrible deeds and hide them from public view.

Sometimes these people know what they're doing and maybe feel bad about it or are coerced, and, sometimes... these people are actually just complete sociopaths and will recklessly do whatever it takes to get ahead, thinking they're invincible.

Sometimes, in life, it turns out a friend isn't who you thought they were, and actualay falls into the above category.

I'm most certainly not trying to avoid the evidence or anything and if anything I'm more on you guys sides and what is right/wrong. I'm just sharing my experiences/opinions. I honestly do think its sucky to promote something you've created without saying so - but clearly that was done because they were making money on their own site. I just wondered if there was more to it.

Haha. Naw, this is scummy through and through, sorry your bro turned out to be a dirt bag.

I get you, it totally is a dirtbag move for all involved to not say it's their site and make money or show them making money off of it in any case. I do wonder how much of this is against YouTube TOS though and how damaging it could be to their overall YouTube followings.

This is the big thing I'm taking away from this and it really is a dick move to do that. I'm just trying to understand/put my self in that headspace. Clearly they were trying to 'fake the system' on their own gambling site to attract their own audiences. However, I truly feel like if they just got together and made a collaborative video promoting the site as there's and been like "look how awesome it is" - their fans would have flocked their anyway.

People online are dumb. Why is it people always try to delete things when caught. You can't get it off the internet once is on

That's fucked up. What if you are a legit user of that site and have skins you have yet to transfer out?

Knee jerk blocking it is a bit of a dick move.

I don't know about that but this is a covering their ass move...their policies and apis have allowed, if not pushed these kinds of gambling sites

Money is the ultimate god

Yeah that's pretty dirtbaggy, as an ex-content creator myself (I did it for 5 years before leaving the world of YouTube behind me) you should always show when you're been sponsored and especially if what you're showing is something you funded because then there's a HUGE conflict of interest and opinion.

Yeah, you're not wrong - opens your eyes a little when you see all the 'shit' people get up to and reveals maybe what they're actually like.

You say it was "sucky" and "a dick move." That's downplaying what it really is: predatory and illegal.

Tmartn always seemed slimy as hell. I clicked on one of his Call of Duty videos at one point and it immediately started with "Hey guys just got back from my vacation to the Bahamas".

Dude is shady as all fuck and rolling in the YouTube AND Counter-Strike underage gambling money. I don't know how HE sleeps at night.

Love the lens flare on his Twitter picture too.

pewdiepie looking to take a few shots at his rivals

Pewdiepie always (used to?) gets a lot of flak around these parts, but he's got a great sense of whit and humour, that's really come about in the last year or two.

His parody of other YouTuber's 'look at the expensive car I just purchased' video was hilarious.
