KINGSGLAIVE FINAL FANTASY XV- Official E3 Trailer

I'm a big fan of Luna's Kingsglaive design. It reminds me of Terra's CGI design from FF6 on the PS1.Similar edgy look and no doll face like we get in her awful Dissidia design.

I'm really missing Nomura's character designs. People give him a lot of crap, but no one can deny his characters are memorable. Nothing about that guy on the right looks like something I'd remember for very long at all.

I think they wanted a realistic look for the movie just like luna, that guy looks like a real person, not sure how they will translate him in game ( if he ever appears in it ).

Pre-Hulett Silent Hill(SH1-4) was the BEST Silent Hill.

Damn she looks kind of like Stella.

Maybe it could be due to Nomura doing the Terra's Dissidia design.

If he appears via flashback, he'll likely look different. Most of the characters' game counterparts(even
young Noctis
) look vastly different. Also remember, that guy on the right is still HIM(Clarus):

Regardless of looking old(and bald) now, back in the day, the dude looked pretty badass in his youth(also looks like he has an arm/hand tattoo, which given his Kingsglaive look, would be covered up).

I prefer Kingslaive Luna ten times to the lifeless animu realdoll in the game. Frankly I just wish the game looked closer aesthetically to the movie.

Really like the character design in Kingsglaive. Although I love the stuff in XV proper, too, I think this new, more realistic look for the characters actually better suits the "fantasy based on reality" motif they're aiming for, and stands out in comparison to the kind of same-y look the series' characters have had since VIII (with the exception of XI, XII, and XIV – XII being the most obvious in this regard). I hope it's a sign of things to come in later projects

the designs in this film are such a let down. and fuck tabata for letting them bleed into the game.
...what's bad about these designs? People like Glauca and Ravus. I hope Ravus looks like this in the main game. He looks like someone who has his shit together.

And it's probably (more like undoubtedly) more palatable and appealing to western audiences.

I like all the designs except ardyn, there is just so much going on in his outfit.

I really hope he isn't the main villain,he look like a guy you fight at the endgame before the last boss.

I think an elegant design like what we see with Ravus might go over well with the Japanese audience as well.

Liquid Snake meets Jaime Lannister meets Rufus Shinra clothed like Xemnas from Kingdom Hearts. Main character's foil/rival.

I think he's my favorite character already lol

It's probably the "la la... don't look Japanese enough ... la la... needs to look more like anime-ish humanoids just like Nomura intended."

I don't know, I don't care. For me, the movie is the movie and the game is the game. The game still looks helluva stylish and I like it that way, but it's a game, so that fits. For a movie, going the more realistic route, at least to me, might help me tolerate it more than I could tolerate Advent Children. Just something wrong with those characters. CG like that, I can take for a game. Short spurts. A full-length CG film with that more anime-ish looking style(especially with certain anime-ish gestures and mannerism) just don't work(and AC was ripe with that shit). This one don't look that bad. The most exaggeration seems to be Ardyn's greetings.

Getting past the looks, the clothing design/style of Ravus and Glauca aren't out of place in FFXV. Even from the longest time ago when Versus was announced, they made it a point that a great deal of the world is not as modern as Lucis is. Ravus hails from Tenebrae, which we've seen as being a pretty classical "fantasy kingdom" that would fit in with the more medieval set FF games. Glauca, given FF's close ties to the concept of "magic crystals", looks like a "Crystal Knight".

They aren't bad (except for Glauca, and Ravus' dumb getup) but incredibly underwhelming. Ravus looks like a nobody 80's action flick character, Daddy Gladio looks like a space marine, Glauca looks like he belongs in a Michael Bay film.

Like I mentioned before, the collar inside the hood is same as the Kingsglave outfit. So there is still high chance he could have the same hood outfit in the game.

Remember how some people were guessing he's blind from zooming in on that scene of the 2013 trailer? Saw other some speculation that in Kingsglaive when he tries to use
the Lucis Magic ring
it backfires and blinds him so from there he starts rockin the hood.

So, does any of the movie spoilers/reveal stuff shed any more light on that supposed "leaker" who talked about the game's story and development trouble back before E3? I stopped following it after a while, but it seemed like some new bit of information would prove it false, but then something else would be revealed that made the answer questionable. I personally didn't believe it, and I didn't even read the full story spoilers.

While the gamesfaq spoilers never called Ardyn the main villain, seeing how he according to the spoilers would be the final boss, is an old Lucian king, is Ifrit and kills Luna I would think he would be the main antagonist/villain(weather or not the gamesfaq rumor say so). But Tabata comments make it sound like Ravus is the main villain and is most likely the final boss. FF9 is the game where the final boss isn't the main villain and he only comes out due to Kuja work.

We got a developer on the game, calling out the rumor.

Luna donning the Stella look at some point would be cool.

Ravus or Ardyn are the clear candidates for endgame villain.

Also, that leaker never mentioned ANYTHING about
the Plague of the Stars, the goddess, the prophecy and the three god-like beings, all things that were said to be important to FFXV's plot. And didn't he also say that the hooded man wasn't in the game anymore(something that has been proven false not only by Tabata, but also hinted at in the new famitsu article)

A part of me hopes Ravus goes to
Luca Blight levels of infamy.

My theory is that
Ardyn, Ravus, Glauca and Verstael have been planning to usurp Iedolas for a while, which might either lead to them joining forces to create a new world under their ideals, or a four-way battle for who can be the true ruler of Niflheim.

Can also wonder what kind of political tension will be expressed regarding what happened to these guys to make them turn the way they did. We know political tension will play a role in Kingsglaive. We know there's also the whole bit about the immigrants and outer Lucian territories, and how they believe the King has abandoned them when Niflheim rolls in. However much people believe this game has changed, that flows straight with the initial concepts of "A Fantasy based on Reality" and the Shakespeare quote. Especially if the Reddit leaks are true regarding Ravus's past and the theme of "what makes an enemy or ally and what does it mean to care for your country". Remember, "There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so."

EDIT: Fuck, I thought I pasted this to the post above.

Yeah, I remember that bit about someone calling it out who was known to have been involved with the game, and was another reason why I didn't believe it. But people still seemed to believe it/be unsure about it.

Eh, I guess we will find out soon enough.

From the Kingsglaive spoilers regarding Ravus, also seen in that new KG clip... It goes back to what Tabata said about having players understanding why the main enemy isn't actually bad or evil, their motivations for doing what they do will make sense.

Massive spoilers:
Lunafreya’s older brother (or cousin?). Lost his mother during Niflheim’s blitzkrieg of Tenebrae and desperately begged Regis to help them (the two countries were allies). Regis refused and the Lucians withdrew; Tenebrae fell shortly afterwards. He has lived as an Imperial subject ever since, looking for a chance to take his revenge.

Won't be surprised if they reworked this scene into the final game.
