His "cryptic" posts have all been deciphered within a page tops. He said not before (including) the 18th. That doesn't mean that August 19th was a guaranteed announcement. That doesn't mean that plans aren't subject to change.

Fair enough. I find things like the sharing of general feelings behind the scenes interesting enough to post. If others don't find it helpful, I understand. It's frustrating that the people who know more than we do about NX are sworn to secrecy. The issue I have is when people don't take the time to actually read what was posted and then get angry when their false assumption doesn't come true. But that's par for course with modern internet culture.

I don't see the problem. You have sources and get NX info relayed to you, while the rest of us have nothing. Nintendo won't say anything at all. We've known about the NX for so long and the Wii U is a dead console. Nintendo hasn't made any brand new high quality games for sooooooo long. Why is it so wrong for wanting to know when they'll reveal the NX?

It's clear they they did so as early as they did in order to extinguish any concerns that people would have had after their announcement of the DeNA announcement. Just the way it is really, in reality we would have heard about them working on a new thing for the first time this year I'd imagine.

They announced it early so that their marketing and PR teams get 2 years sabbatical to be fresh for the launch. /s

Maybe they should have never said anything. They never learn. They need some new people in their marketing and public relations department. They have no idea how modern consumers (especially gamers) think and how to excite them about a product.

They've only talked about the NX in investor conferences and when the media has asked them explicit questions. Nobody was trying to bait or excite anyone. Investors conferences are meant to inform investors of future plans, not market their products.

Your own disappointment is of your own doing. For all intents and purposes, Nintendo hasn't said anything about their newest platform and won't until its official unveiling.

Actually, to be pedantic, Sony haven't announced the PS meeting AFAIK?

Just that Gameblog and then Patrick Klepek leaked the press invitations. Polygon did claim in a update a "Sony representative" confirmed the PS meeting would be livestreamed and would release more details closer to the 7th but this was a unnamed person.

So yeah, Sony haven't technically announced yet so Nintendo could swoop in tomorrow if they wished.
