No God of War at PSX 2016

Game won't tie in with the movie at all they confirmed and since they seem to be dead serious on it being a big AAA Spiderman title If it's not ready i doubt they force it to come out with the movie
I think it will coincide with the blu ray release during the holidays. It would be a huge missed marketing opportunity. I am sure if the game is not ready they will push it, but I bet the target is to coincide with the movie release.

Sorry, I didn't mean the plot or anything. I meant marketing-wise. They gave it a pretty solid headstart to hit late 2017, I'd say..

Based on the development times and my own speculations.
-Days Gone should be next after Horizon since Bend's last game was Golden Abyss in 2011 with another year spend prototyping games. So they probably have been making Days Gone since 2013 (that's 3 years as of now). This should be Sony's Go-getter for Fall 2017.
-God of War started development like 2 years ago so It needs more time in the oven, specially since it's bigger than the usual GOW games. So that's definitely a March 2018 game.
-Detroit should be due next year. QD released Beyond in 2013. So just like Bend they have been working 3 years on the game as of now. I think this game will be pushed to Spring 2018 because it works better for this type of game but I could see Sony releasing it next summer/autumn too so I honestly don't know.
-Spider-Man is a 2018 game. It started development in 2014 (let's assume it was after Sunset Overdrive and that was a Fall 2014 game).
-Death Stranding: XD we'll be lucky if it even releases on this gen. Might even end up being multiplatform with PS5. Fall 2019/20.

Pretty sure Bend said we shouldn't assume 2017 for Days Gone. Hell, that game might be further off than God of War.

No, they haven't. But at least since Sunset Overdrive, so two years.

It's a full gameplay reveal, which I usually associate with the game being pretty far along if it's AAA.

It's more of a gameplay teaser, I would say.

Gameplay reveal is somewhere along the lines of God of War or Uncharted PSX, where they show off a whole section of a game played from end-to-end, not just snippets of cut gameplay.

Should be some other good stuff there anyway.
Surely it's time to show it again right...

Well I kinda expected that.

As far as what I expect to be there....
Some small yet meaning full announcements that would get gaf excited(basically some Japanese games).
Kojima appearing once again to talk more about his game that will come in 2020.
UC4 SP DLC
and some cries of disappointment.

Boo! Welp, long as either of these boxes are ticked, I'm satisfied

[ ] Ace Combat 7 gameplay

[ ] RPG from Sony

[ ] Surprise announcement from Capcom

[ ] FromSoft Teaser

March 2018. You can bet on it.

The regular obvious and logical date.

This is God of War, it's coming out March 2018.
It's always March for the main games

God of War - March 22, 20005
God of War II - March 13, 2007
God of War III - March 16, 2010
God of War: Ascension - March 12, 2013

God Of war : Chains Of Olympus - March 4 2008

Only God Of War: Ghost Of Sparta and God Of War: Betrayal were released in November and June respectively.

I wish publishers would stop announcing games and then go an entire year before showing it off again. I like that Capcom has started announcing games within a year of the release date..

March 2018. You can bet on it.

DMC5 will have some stiff competition for Q1 2018 if that's the case.

The writing was on the wall the moment we all saw this.

Some of those games will surely still come in 2017.
Sony had to delay a lot of their games this gen and I think they now start to reveal the release date later than they did in the past to prevent too many delay announcements.

But yes, GoW could very well be a 2018 game.

My thoughts exactly.

The most pointless announcement of E3 for a long time. Literally just moment for Kojima to hog the spot light.

The funny thing is that he'll probably appear at PSX too, just to talk about development because he has nothing to show or he'll show some concept arts at best rofl

I'm going to put my head through the monitor if time is wasted on Kojima walking on stage and babbling about his ambitious new project while showing us a couple of concept art stills or something. He just needs to retreat into his workplace for the next two years and keep his head down. We don't continually need reminding that your game is still four years away from coming out.

The E3 version was all smoke and mirrors. They are pretty much starting over from what I was told. 2017 will be a miracle.

God fucking damn! Sony's management of their 1st party studios this gen has been beyond poor, what a fucking shitshow.

This. Bend said they are still at early stages.

Sony probably won't have a big exclusive title for Holiday 18. I guess they can delay GT Sport long enough but that would be even more embarrassing.

What the hell have they be doing if Days Gone is in early stages? The last game they shipped was UC:GA on PS Vita... in 2012.
