Switch Pro controller takes the throne for me in terms of controllers

DS4 loses out by just a slight bit, but the battery life of the Pro is just godly. That aside it is one of the best feeling controllers I've ever used In my 35 years of gaming. DS4 is almost tied with it I'd say but pro edges it out in my book.

One of the reasons zelda currently feels so incredible is the pro controller. It's about as perfect as it gets for a controller in terms of how it contours to your hands, and everything else feels absolutely perfect. I hate the idea of a 70 dollar controller but I got to say this was worth every damn penny for how good it feels.

What about for some of you, did the pro edge out the DS4 for overall feel and performance?

I really dislike the DS4. The light bar is worthless and a battery killer, I've had multiple triggers break, and the rubber on the sticks of my launch controller have disintegrated. Maybe some of those quality issues have been ironed out but mostly I just hate how fast the battery dies.

Are the triggers analog? Or just on/off. Because if it's the latter then the xbone controller is still my favorite. It's definitely a very nice controller though.

It's up there with the Xbox controller for me, the Dualshock 4 is nice but the battery life kills it. The switch pro controller is great except the AB and XY buttons are reversed.

Xbox one controller I've felt is the best so far by quite a bit. Waiting for my pro controller to arrive, but if it can match the Xbone controller I'll be in Zelda heaven.

My buddy is a huge fan of that controller as well. It's one of my next controller purchase, but I can't personally put it into my controller ranks without having it so that's why for me DS4 was tops til now.

Do people auto discredit the Elite controller because of the price tag?

Serious question

Fair enough

Honestly, I have to agree.

Plus the thumbsticks on the Pro feel better textured, and it just disappears in your hands so well.

Only thing the Dualshock 4 has on it is better triggers.

My favourite controller right now.

Same. I much prefer being able to put my own batteries in rather than having an internal one too.

It was a step down from the Wii U for me. Feels a bit too bulky. I liked how light the Wii U Pro was. Everything on the Switch Pro feels a bit mushy too, I prefer clicky. Also it's asymmetrical, so it's already out of the running.

Isn't the battery killer thing not true? Like somebody disconnected it and it didn't change much. I will say I've had serious issues with my R2 on multiple controllers.

The DS4 was never even on the throne to begin with.

I love the pro controller, but I'd give it to the One controller based on the fact it has analog triggers. If the pro did, I'd easily give it the crown.

Maybe that's why I'm having trouble with the controls in handheld-mode. The pro controller is too good that the joy-cons feel like shit compared to them.

Pretty much this. Super high quality feel, along with amazing customization with profile support. Best controller ever made.

I was actually really surprised by the Pro though. It does have a great feel to it. Still not sure about the price tag, but I've been really happy with it.

The battery life is fucking insane on the pro controller. It's also really comfortable.

DS4 does have a better dpad to me though and the face buttons feel a bit better. Same with triggers. Everything else is better on pro.

Yeah, I really like it. I think I still prefer DS4 because I prefer Sony's analog stick placement, and I'm just so used to the feel of it now.

It really sucks when I have to use the Joy-cons.

DS4 was on my controller throne easily, I absolutely love using it. But when I'm playing with the pro during zelda it's like controllergasms nonstop lol

That battery life, man

Every. Damn. Time.

For $150 goddamn dollars I'd expect that shot to be the best thing since sliced bread. That's like comparing a BMW versus a Honda Civic.

OP: no headphone jack, digital triggers and non symmetric analog sticks hold back an otherwise great controller. DS4 edges it out.

I notice that I prefer playing Rocket League on PC with an Xbox 360 controller. When I go over to the PS4 version my skills seem to deteriorate a bit and I make more mistakes. I really don't like the feel of the DS4 very much.

I was always partial to the shape of the Gamecube controller but it had one of the worst button layouts ever. I'd love to see a version of it with a similar button layout to the Pro controller.

It feels like a slightly worse version of the xb1 controller due to the bigger face buttons.

XBO Elite lacks HD rumble... and yeah, it's that significant. Amazing tech.

Elite
Pro
DS4

In that order.
Not fair because the Elite is a premium product. So if the Elite wasn't included.

Pro
Xbox One
DS4

The 40 hour battery life is so nice in the Pro and it feels great.
Not hard to change batteries in the Xbox controller.
Having to play with the DS4 using the charging cord all the time on the PS4 is such a pain.

The fact that you rank the terrible Dualshock 4 number 2 says a lot.

I am on my 3rd DS4 and might need a 4th soon..think my RT broke..,,again

It's only really second to the xbox elite for most games. It's pricey but it's most certainly quality.

The unfortunate lack of Analog Triggers is a big issue though. But the battery Life is top tier.

Triggers being replaced by buttons made me realize how much do I miss that.

Pro Controller > DS4/V2 > Joycon > XB1 for me from current gen controllers. Nintendo outdid themselves with this controller I must say.

I'd give the throne to the Xbox One Elite controller but yes, the Switch Pro controller is wonderfully comfortable to use.

Holy crap! Today's real megaton is that more than two people can have the same first name.
Yep. I also like how it has motion controls built in too. Nintendo's first traditional controller to do that.

You guys are forgetting that Nintendo 's switch is the only current gen console that lacks a headphone jack which majorly sucks!

The Xbone controller was my previous favorite, but the Switch Pro has definitely dethroned it for me too. It's absolute ergonomic bliss. The gyro is extremely accurate too. $70 feels right for how premium it is tbh
