Halo 6 won't be at E3 but 343 has a "little" something to show

Dan Ayoub and Ske7ch were also saying "Stay Tuned" for months and literally nothing happened. It doesn't even matter what they actually said, what matters is the actions they have taken and there were absolutely none after H5 released, despite saying that they will still have a dedicated team on the MCC, even after H5 releases.

Also, I doubt that Frankie said that recently.

I may have read between the lines, but heres is the post. But I really hope they announce something. Like a new, "remade" MCC.

Fake or not, it is still marketing by putting that thought into our heads. them just mentioning it is marketing these days imo. could almost compare it to when a company chooses a specific color to send subliminal messages about their product. of course, this is not that elaborate or in depth, but i believe just mentioning it is a little bit of marketing for them.

You did, because it only really mentions the post mortem that he promised us, but was not allowed to share. Nowhere does it mention or indicate a patch for the MCC.

I see. Yeah, little reminders that certain games are still coming are always good.

I think the obvious thing would be an announcement of "early access to Halo 6 beta in 2018 when you buy crackdown 3. It worked for the first one...why not this time again?

The not so obvious.... Halo 5 gets a VR/AR mode added with the launch of the compatible Windows AR/VR devices.

It's not a big issue if all you play is Halo 5 - I mentioned that before. Compared to all other shooters, it is. I can easily go between CoD, Titanfall, Destiny or Halo 3-CE without issues.

I absolutely HATE what 343 has done with Halo. They've also made a mockery out of the competitive side as well. Instead of partnering with MLG, like any smart developer does, they insist on controlling everything themselves and producing horrible tournaments.

Hell, we don't even have a proper LAN mode. They have to bring servers to the venues.

The only metric I care about is how good the game feels to play. And Destiny feels as good as the previous Bungie Halo games have.

On the lan support thing...thats not their fault. Microsoft's dev environment didn't support lan until after halo 5 came out (gears 4 for example supported it)

Or what? You are gonna go on GAF and shriek letters?
Send Frankie Death threats?
Post a Turd to Phil Spencer?

Was not buying it not a option? Lol

If BTB wasn't included, I'd probably just hold off until they added it. I think it'll be there though.

?
no?
wtf is wrong with you?

i'll just continue to be disappointed, that although they can do it now (according to the user i quoted), they still won't support a feature that used to be standard and has been used by me & friends every other thursday for over a decade and the lack of now, occasionally, but still, leaves us together in the same room without being able to play together, because something went wrong on the other side of the planet.

Or maybe Halo will become less and less relevant. Thats much worse. If they keep going down this path, they will make that happen themselves.

It doesn't matter who we are, what matters is our plan.
I'd be interested in how often local LAN is used for Gears 4 outside of tournaments.

Anything is possible but to me, that sounds like, I'll say something when I don't work for Microsoft anymore.

Still, fingers crossed they've given Halo MCC some love.

Remember when 343 was praised for post game support when the majority of the post game support was adding back things that were in every preexisting Halo game prior?

And they tried to spin the REQ system as a great thing which gave us all that "wonderful" post launch support...

Halo 5 has some crazy diehards. Even worse are the whales who spent enough money on packs to convince MS this type of greed is the way forward.

I really don't want to be part of the "Halo 4 was better" camp, but man do I miss Extraction. Halo 5 really doesn't have any 1-sided or 2v2 game modes and the ones you can make with custom settings aren't even officially supported.

One of my general rules of gaming is if your game has a card system and is not a card battling game, you fucked it up. I don't want to manage cards or not be able to do something in Warzone because I don't have cards for it. It actively harms game design and introduces irritation, imbalance, and randomness. Even after many hours in the game, I never unlocked a single DMR. REQ system is shit. Make it cosmetics only if you're going to depend on that whale money, at least.

Halo 5 was pretty good to me outside of the req stuff. Never did get any armor I really liked. Reach's system was way better.

Oh, and BTB was not super great and it's pretty much my favorite mode. :(

On topic, I was hoping a small trailer would be shown, but I could dig on some more Halo Wars 2 missions that lead into 6.

I never understood the distaste for the REQ system. A lot of people were fine with it and it was isolated to Warzone - Arena was left untouched by it (apart from cosmetics).

I've had a lot of fun with Halo 5 MP without spending a penny on premium REQs.

I'm with this guy. Now if they would have some playlists with some glorious REQs weapon variants as starting weapons I'd be a happy man e.g. Default BR in arena eats dicks.

Yup, same. In fact, they offset the profits they made from REQ in not charging for any DLC, which was a really good thing imo.

You could easily play Warzone without needing to purchase REQ. Not sure what the fuss about it was.

Usual GAF bullshit of probably never played the game, read a title and knee jerk reacted because the trigger word of microtranscations popped up.

The REQ system isn't bad at all. REQ cards are regulated to a tertiary game mode that you don't have to play. Classic Arena is still there which is exclusively what I play. Even if you play Warzone, the amount of req points rewarded is fair to the point that it's completely unnecessary to buy REQ packs. Most people probably bought them for aesthetic armor pieces, which again is optional. Right now I'm sitting on 200,000 RP and I have a surplus of power weapons and vehicles. The REQs also subsidized the free maps we got post launch. Whether you like those maps or not is largely irrelevant, they didn't get less development time because they were free. There's certainly merit in the criticism that Warzone and by extension the REQ system cannibalized BTB, that certainly sucks. Hopefully we'll have traditional BTB back in 6, I want a Sidewinder/Avalanche successor. `

I saw some 1 or 2 seconds footage of Master Chief and Halo Wars in some game trailer sequence, but I don't know if it qualifies as "little" or not...
