Will it, I mean we already have a big blow out for it. All they really need to do is show the price and new ui elements.

They're gonna have to show what games look like on it

Then there's the VR compatibility we haven't heard much about, and whatever secret features we haven't heard about

With this E3 and fall being a soft reboot for the Xbox Brand he hope when it comes to first party software we can go back to a variety of things.

- Having your big ticket games like your Forza, Halo, Gears, and new Ip that fit that.

- Smaller and AA games like Ori, Recore, and Phatom Dust

- Single Player games as well as Games as as a service.

- stuff that hits a variety of ages.

Like somehow taking the DNA from the three Xbox gens to get a mix of all three.

I think all games there will be running on Scorpio. You don't need a section like that specifically for Scorpio.

i know i used google assistant/now on my phone alot though.

If you clicked the Win key to do a search, you may have used Cortana.

Well, going off my last post and some reading I've been doing since...

My big E3 guess is that we will see either a new Phantom Dust, a much bigger follow up to Crimson Dragon, or the long overdue sequel to the OG Xbox's Panzer Dragoon Orta.

We can dream. If only just one of those came true...,

No, there is no rumor he is working on anything, it's just speculation on my part:

So I just mentioned this in the Phantom Dust OT, but it might be better asked here:

Does anyone have any clue as to what's going on with Yukio Futatsugi and Grounding Inc?

Only game they released was the middling launch title Crimson Dragon, which was inspired by the Panzer Dragoon series he was responsible for directing. Other than that, there's just been the Phantom Dust rerelease (he was the director of that game as well).

There's been silence from both for going on 4 years now, the last article I can find talking about them from Wikipedia is dated 2013.

Other than that, Phil Spencer bought him up back in June 2015 when people were asking about the cancellation of the Darkside Phantom Dust project, mentioning that he wanted the creators involvement in any project concerning Phantom Dust moving forward and that they were still looking for the "right developer".

Any chance there's been a project cooking under our noses this whole time?

Edit: Its also worth pointing out that last we heard he was interested in making Crimson Dragon a full fledged RPG and also discussing HD ports of the Panzer Dragoon Saga. That was 3+ years ago. Just around the time it takes to make a larger scale game...

I think Crimson Dragon or Panzer Dragoon follow up is more likely because releasing OG Phantom Dust just to have it be overshadowed by a sequel wouldn't be the best timing. Unless we don't see new Phantom Dust until next E3, which would fit, build up the hype and fanbase a bit more.

From the source you asked for, but didn't read:

any kind of Cortana use, which includes text, voice, and assistant notifications based on user input.

FYI: Monthly active users is calculated by taking the number of unique users for a thirty day period.

oh I see

Lets hope he shows up!

I expect they'll have a sizzle reel of games that are getting a Scorpio boost like Halo 5, Gears 4, Forza Horizon 3, Recore, and then a lot of effort will be put on how Scorpio improves third party software by showing Shadow of Wardor, Assassin's Creed Origins, Madden 2018, maybe a couple of older titles like Battlefield 1 and The Division.

Then they'll obviously show Crackdown 3, Ori 2, State of Decay 2, Forza 6, Sea of Thieves, maybe something Halo or Gears related (in the case of the latter, maybe SP DLC?). Have I forgotten anything they've previously announced? Most interesting of all will be what new IPs or franchise reboots they have ready to show.

You can read what seems to be the full story on his site. But if the game is based on that I'm not gonna read that. That would be a shame if the game turns out to be worth my time.

IGN First this month is a tour of Japanese studios, starting with Platinum.

It's a good read and would say folk should check it out. I felt this was a good thread to put this excerpt

It’s my first time talking to Kamiya in depth since he first told me about Scalebound, over three years ago. In that last meeting, he showed me his personal arcade collection, and we discussed his career and development philosophies with the excited underpinnings of this new passion project he was making with Microsoft.
It’s impossible to not ask about the death of a game that was incredibly personal to Kamiya, but also a bold new direction for Platinum.
“For the fans, an apology is really all that I can offer. I’m terribly sorry.” Kamiya says with conviction. “The staff here at Platinum, the creative team at Microsoft, there were a lot of people who worked on this game and tried to make it special. I feel a lot of weight for not being able to have had something come from their efforts."

Although disappointed, Kamiya acknowledges that the process was important regardless of the the outcome. “Along the way we learned a lot and gained new experience,” he continues, “so the time we spent was not wasted. This time the outcome was unfortunate, but it’s always been the way that as soon as one project is finished then it’s onwards to the next, and that’s just how it will be this time too.“ The value of this experience seems paramount as a motivation for moving on.

There doesn't seem to be a lot of bad blood or animosity, which is both surprising and reassuring.

Hey y'all. I know that GAF isn't really our audience, but since OP took the time to actually include the Casual Games Studio, I figured I'd pop in for a little self promo.

Today we just released Microsoft Ultimate Word Games! If you like word games, give it a shot! You can find it on the Windows 10 Store.

Always happy to include Casual Games Studio! I kill a lot of time with Solitaire on iOS :p.

Great to have you here

Edit: I played a tiny bit of Crosswords during beta. So this is full on release? Congrats!

Been streaming a bit o' Wordament on Mixer; WIN+G lets you broadcast pretty much anything on a Windows 10 device.

The two main sets of advertising boxes are fairly unobtrusive (side and below) - but man oh man, those full-screen advert videos that pop out from nowhere are terrible. (Makes you wait a while before the X to Close appears).

Very fun casual word game overall, though.

Since Gamescom (so in 2016 and 2017)

Microsoft have announced:

Forza Horizon 3
Forza Motorsport 7
State of Decay 2
Dead Rising 4
Ori 2

Excited for Ori 2 and SOD2, forza is nice, but that is simply not good enough. 2 racers and 2 zombie games? No new ips since recore and sea of thieves in 2015

And to top it all off they cancelled Fable Legends, Scalebound and Knoxville since then

Phil said he wanted to rework first party, all he did was put an axe to it

There are a couple of ports you could probably mention too but… I don't think it helps them so I'm not going to bother

People about lack of new big exclusive games from MS, but i think that's just their new strategy, MS showed only games that going to release during this year and first half of 2018. Look at their current first party line-up, most of those games were announced 2+ years ago, obviously they don't want to get in the same trap again. Of course it's not a good image for their line-up overall, but announcing games too early can backfire if team will fail to put all things together and game will be canceled (like Scalebound) or doesn't look as hot as expected (Crackdown 3).

Think they'll be announcing anything during the daily streams? Not anything big obviously, but I'm still holding out hope for ReCore Definitive Edition. The DLC is long overdue.

Halo Wars 2 DLC is today, and yeah I think we can expect Recore at some point this week. Maybe some Halo 5 DLC for Halo 3's anniversary? Don't think there'll be much else though.
