I kind of love that Trump is now referring to himself in the third person as "T" in his tweets - it's like he's achieved the highest rank of narcissist possible.

His tweets are making me nervous. I know he's transparent but this is just coming out of nowhere. It's the 'someone threw a chair' feeling.

While I don't doubt that Trump is dumb enough to fall for something like that, I'm not gonna put any stock in some random Twitter user's fantasies.

I'm guessing the Senate will follow the House with a failed bill and later a new bill that will pass.

It's too close to passing for it to not happen long-term.

Except what we are seeing is that simply put there are not 50 Senators who are willing to sign onto the HFC's demands, but without the HFC it doesn't pass the house.

If that fake-intel rumor is true, then I'm guessing Trump was baited with intel on an upcoming Assad Chemical Attack.

Given that every time the GOP fiddles around leads to one million more people keeping their health insurance, the next pass at Trumpcare would deprive 21 million people of their health insurance.

I'm still wondering what awaits us in the proposed phase 2 and 3 of the Republican Healthcare plan. It seems like they are so focused on this one repeal effort getting done, that they completely forgot they promised further changes down the road.

It's possible people close to Trump baited people in the military to make statements about this non-attack, to see who would negate it.

What is this?

Menschverse fanfic, I assume.

Though who knows, that Syria statement with no CENTCOM heads up is pretty insane. White house has had its hair on fire for the last few days has been floating "Is collusion really so bad" bubbles with Hannity.

Wittes teasing on top of this, it's hard to stay grounded.

But for now the important thing is to keep pushing back against this health care bullshit.

Well all this and lots of Xanax.

Part of you believes it because quietly passing Intel to our enemies is less stupid than stuff he does every day. Zero hyperbole. In fact I won't even be challenged on that claim because Trump stans and moscowbotz have switched to 100% "it's more nothing" and everyone else is like. Yup.

It is because the agencies know that Trump has the power to declassify any piece of information he wants.

I was thinking about this. Theoretically, how far can this go? Would malicious intent need to be proven in order for us to stop a theoretical rogue POTUS ?

That would be a silent message to Congress. "we've got him. This is dangerous. Stop fucking around."

Well, to be fair to the conspiracy nut, it's not like Trump leaking secret intel to Russians is completely out of the realm of possibilities since, you know, it actually fucking happened.
I hate responding to this because it's really dangerous to give random disinformation campaigns this much power but if the democratically elected president is being fed false information by an unelected and unaccountable bureaucracy then we don't live in a democracy anymore.

Also, we already know Russia has been leading a disinformation campaign to make Americans distrustful of their own government and sew chaos in our smoothly running republic. Making you think Trump is a Russian spy when you're hypersensitive to any news that even sounds like that would achieve those goals perfectly. They already trolled half the country, I guess it's time for the other half.

EDIT: also it takes two seconds to flip through the thread and realize the guy has no source. He's misremembering the Israel incident and confabulating it with some fake news. I will be damned before I let fake news into this thread unchallenged.

If Russia's amazing plan is to make us sanction their economy to public revolt I'm not sure what to tell you. Like it's putin. One thing he's not is stupid and desperate for more economic insecurity. That's two things. But he can handle that.

However I do agree with the concern of even amplifying that tweet without more scrutiny of the source.

Step 2: Tax cuts!
Step 3: Unprecedented economic growth!

Everyone can afford the care and coverage they desire because America will be winning so damn hard.

Okay, so, away from conspiracy theories:

I've been sort of fascinated with the conservative intellectual response to Trumpcare because it resembles almost completely anti-anti-Trumpism.

The defenses aren't really of Trumpcare, because it's bad, but almost all "yeah, but the ACA". Either that the ACA hasn't increased life expectancy or decreased infant mortality, or that it's not perfect, and that it didn't stop the opioid epidemic and that INSURANCE ISN'T CARE THIS IS ABOUT ACCESS. Or my favorite, that Actually, health care was fine pre-ACA.

I'm sort of astounded there are no actual defenses of what a conservative health care program should look like, just attack on the ACA's problems, unfair or not.

Oh also that we have to stop it before single payer.

EDIT: My actual favorite is How Dare You Talk About How Many People May Die From Trumpcare When So Many Died From Obamacare!!!!!!!!!

Your feel good story of the day. Trump supporter won't be able to afford insurance if the AHCA is passed:

An emotional Donald Trump supporter on Tuesday told CNN’s Don Lemon he wouldn’t be able to afford health insurance if it weren’t for Obamacare, the signature legislation the president has promised to repeal.

“You’re a life long republican, yet you and your wife are insured through Obamacare,” Lemon said to guest Don Riscoe. “What will happen to that insurance if Obamacare is repealed?”

“We probably won’t be insured,” a visibly upset Riscoe replied.

“You okay?” Lemon asked.

“Yes,” he said. “We won’t be insured if Obamacare goes away. We won’t be able to afford premiums.”

“I know we can’t afford $1,000 a month,” he continued. “I don’t know the exact number but … we wouldn’t be able to afford coverage without the infrastructure.”

He'll probably still be alive, but seems like he'll be crippled with medical bills, so it's not a total loss.

Well. not even the fake intel rumor. I was talking about Trumps Tweets. To seemingly shift into, 'They don't have hard proof, there's no way they can prove it!!!!' this suddenly makes me think he call for armed uprising against the deep state coming for him is way closer than previously suspected.

I mean, the feel good part of that story isn't that a Trump voter will suffer, but rather nice insight into a Trump voter that LIKES Obamacare and probably will vote against the GOP if they actually go through with Trumpcare.
