Amazon UK: Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy is 2017's best selling game in just 2 days

It would be terrible result for Odyssey if it did.

Imho odyssey will be huuuuuge. People like me have been waiting for a new 3D Mario without bullshit controls on a somewhat 'powerful' (well at least not terribly underpowered) console ever since Mario Sunshine.

It would be a shame to just leave that engine. I hope they make some original games on it before they're done with it.

Agreed, hell I don't even need 60fps, really.

Plus the Crash model they have now is perfect (which somewhat surprises me after that Skylanders thing), no reason to get rid of anything yet.

Expected this.

Crash is going to sell way way more than a lot of people realised. This could end up one of the best selling games of the gen.

The demand is huge in Italy. This is the stock situation at Gamestop :

Wow, that's quite a lot of gamestops.

Reminds me of 1997 when the nation was Crash mad. Seriously, the UK was nuts about Crash Bandicoot at one point, so it's nice to see this remaster recapture those glory days to some extent. I suspect Activision is going to double down on plans to develop a new (and traditional) entry now based on this reception.

For once, UK has a good taste, who knew they liked colorful platformer.
Well I guess that's because the yearly FIFA / CoD haven't release yet, in the meantime, congratulations!
Always weird seeing comments like this in UK sales threads. Replace FIFA with Madden and it's exactly the same in the US.

Nice. Eat shit, Jim Ryan lol.

Jim Ryan didn't say that a remake with updated visuals of an old games won't sell, that would be a dumb thing to say considering Sony is developing a SOTC remake and is partnering on Crash.

He said that no one is interested in playing the original/ old games because of the dated visuals and/ or controls, so the fact that Crash remake is selling well doesn't disprove his point.

But weren't the Spyro games... kind of.... bad?

Nah, played through a good chunk of it again last year. Still fun and holds up. I had a better time with it than most current gen platformers I've played.

Almost as bad as the Crash games, yes.

Doesn't make sense, if no one wants to play old games why does Sony bother selling PS1 games on PSN. Why does Sony bother adding trophy support and other features to PS2 games on PS4. There's clearly a demand out there for them to be doing this.

Impressive. My roommate bought it on a whim so I'm looking forward to playing some. I played them back in the day on PSX but I don't remember them as fondly as others here...maybe a replay will change my mind :p

That's neither here nor there though. I'm happy for crash fans who surely feel vindicated seeing this. Crash clearly *does* have consumer potential in 2017.

Well deserved, they did a great job updating the Crash games for today. Hopefully they remake Crash Team Racing since this is doing so well.

The fuck is going on here? Mario Odyssey is going to be fine and will have longer tail then any game releasing in 2017 on the account of it being Mario.

Meanwhile, I am waiting for my copy of Crash to arrive.

Between this, Destiny 2 and COD Activision is going to take home a crap ton of money.

This is very very good news because amount of copies sold and positive praise means this will get Activision's attention in duplicating such success in games like CTR and Spyro.

Amazon is the last thing you should use to see game sales. Regardless will be interesting to see the U.K. Sales. I do expect it becomes the best selling game of June or July. If not it'd definitely be in the top 5 for the UK.

I hope Activision funds dev on Spyro, CTR, and new Crash together. But I doubt they would put multiple teams on any project other than CoD.

I believe Crash PS1 outsold Mario 64 and Sonic.

So predictions will Crash Bandicoot: N'sane Trilogy outsell Sonic Mania/ Forces or Mario Odyssey Worldwide?

In the case of Mario 64 you believe wrong, Crash never got near Mario 64 but it is still a top 3 selling platform game series.

Crash consistently being at the top od PSOne classics does disprove his point though.

Now Sony will never get Crash back x exclusive unless they pay big $$$$$$$$ to activision

Glad to see it doing well, I'm about to buy a copy today :D

Great games, great value, and nostalgia. Oh and a great remake. Why would this not be a smash hit? Do more PS1 games please.

I thought the new Crash would be a niche product appealing only to those who have nostalgia for it. Am stunned it is outselling Horizon: Zero Dawn. Of course this does not take account of online sales but I'd imagined they would echo this unless it is because Crash is selling for less than a full price game.

Not that suprising in hindsight. A budget game that appeals to all ages with strong brand recognition should do well.

You know, I've never thought to compare them, but yeah, your totally right. Not even close infact.

Fuck the Spyro games were so good. Really under appreciated classics.

I feel so bad for not playing them alot back in the day. I think I only played them in friends and relatives houses for the most part.

It was all about Crash for me back in the day.

Digital version is also priced cheaper than a normal release.

No surprise, my Facebook was full of mates looking to pick it up straight away and they aren't even people who game much at all.

I didn't know half of them owned a PS4 to grab it but alas, weird that this didn't happen sooner. Crash Team Racing really needs to get into development ASAP tho.

I've seen a couple of mates say there thinking about buying a PS4 just for this game.

I think its both the price being (£30 or under, when games are normally £40-50 ish) and the nostalgia that's getting people to buy this.
