Oh, I can only imagine the monkey wrenches both benign and malicious that'll need to be cleared out of the works before the floodgates proper can open.

Can I please for the love of god get a ResetEra invite also if that's how this works? I miss all the great parts of this forum that are now gone, including people.

Also, Fireblanket, we never really interacted but you always had quality stuff to say and I'll miss you. But hopefully we'll all end up on ResetEra together. I'm interested in these little tidbits of news you left behind also haha.

Edit: woops. Just saw the post saying to "hang tight."

I’m not going out in flames here - I’m sure two communities can stand alongside each other... hopefully this one goes back to being a good place to talk about video games :)

Good to hear. I heard about it over the weekend, but I'm not a frequent poster, don't use discord, or use Twitter, so I'm out of the loop for the most part. Add to the waiting list I suppose.

So ResetEra is based on Discord and is not a standalone forum? If that's the case, I will pass. I don't have a discord account and I don't want one..

Dang EBF, one of the few posters I recognize. Take it easy, fella, thanks for the Ninty info. Netflix will be nice. I wish some of that leaked stuff was in reference to Pikmin but it's probably not. Glad it's Shigeru's baby, though, so it will probably continue.

ResetEra will be a separate forum. It was only organized through GAF-affiliated Discords because that was the only place people could hang out over the weekend while GAF was down, when we didn't know if or when it would be coming back, and in what form.

Eventually it will be open to public sign-ups, but I have no idea how soon it will be. Might be weeks. I think they want the confirmed GAF veterans to get in the door first so they can set up the sub-communities properly. When it opens up, there will likely be some kind of e-mail requirement like the one here on GAF (no Hotmail/Yahoo/Gmail), but it's possible they'll waive it for people who confirm their identities through a GAF connection, in case you no longer have access to the kind of institutional e-mail addresses that got you into GAF in the first place. These concerns were brought up pretty early. I'm not the one to ask about this, though: I'm not on the team running this, I don't think the plan for the next phase of invitations has been finalized, and I can't confirm anything.

Asking for invites in this thread probably won't do anything, by the way, at least not yet. But everyone is aware that a lot of people here who were cut out of the loop are interested.

I've been coming to this site since it was simply called Gaming-Age, and have been an active NeoGAF member for as long as I can remember. I love this community. Sadly, with the recent swirl of negative news surrounding NeoGAF, the place that I've made my internet home for many years, I feel pressured to make some type of move.

Again, I love GAF, as it's without a doubt my favorite site in the world, but it may be time for me to explore elsewhere, and with that being said...I'd really love an invite to ResetEra. They seem to be putting together a great team over there, and I'd love to see what they've put together. Any of you connected, I'd like to ask you to please send an private invite.

Perhaps I'll continue venture around here in the future. Who knows?

Thanks for the news, EBF. Exciting stuff! Hope to see you around some place on the gaming interwebs.

Per the OP, me too!

Countless. Dozens of dozens of games over the years teased, many many industry insights shared and hours waxing poetic around the business itself, keepin NPD threads alive, many attempts to defend episodes of LOST most people hated here, etc etc etc.

So many teases too obscure to guess, so many ah-ha’s. Good times. Over 12 years active (how many people can still say that?). I rarely engaged mano-a-mano and my posts tend to be short to limit my exposed personality, and rather random, but hey, sensitive material and all. Plus, not a fan of drama. Just passionate about the industry.

May be my last post.

I’d consider following the right ppl, send me a PM - might even be interested in being part of it. Though life’s been pretty crazy lately. Who knows!
