I know it is sacrilege here, but I don't even like Yoshi's Island. Anything else, even Wii Sports U, would be more exciting for me. I loved Wii Sports Resort though, so yeah.

You know that Yoshi's Island (SNES), Yoshi's Island (GBA), Yoshi's Story (N64), and Yoshi's Island 2 (DS) all sold a million copies plus in Japan. It's a very successful franchise.

It isn't exactly promising if E3 2012 was the other event which they felt was worth bringing out their FB account for.

What do you mean? Nintendo updates their Facebook Pages (they have multiple; Nintendo, Wii U, Wii, Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo DSi, Nintendo DS, Super Mario, Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, and The Legend of Zelda) all the time! This is just the first time they've made an event like this.

That's why I feel something like that is likely to be their big announcement for this ND. I think they will reveal a new game that Nintendo fans will like, but they'll save their western audience games like Zelda, Metroid, 3D Mario, whatever Retro is working on, etc. for their E3 conferences.

I agree. I think Nintendo wants to save something for E3 (that's my guess), but honestly, I think they would get more attention outside of E3 because Sony and Microsoft will dominate the headlines no matter what.

Going through these threads, I realized they announced ( for example) plenty of new IPs, which people tend to overlook. Pushmo, Dillon, Harmonknight or new entries of pretty new IPs like Fluidity.
