- Handwritten posts will now also display on the TV screen during creation

What I mean is I still have a black border all around Wii mode. I never had any overscan issues, my TV is set to full pixel mode.

Sounds like a software issue. I doubt EA still pay anyone to work on Wii U games though, so that's probably that.
Returning to the start menu is what the second update is for:

This improves software load times, not menu return times.

It has to be a software issue, criterion can't lie about this now. They said they don't experience any freezing, liars. Everyone in the OT has had multiple freezes.

I doubt we'll hear much now. It's obvious that EA has completely cut all support for the console, and Criterion employees probably can't speak out against their paymasters.
I did that today before the update, AFAIK it's always been there.

Usally I set my TV to 16:9 mode and it goes away, then switch back to Just Scan on the WiiU side.

I always wished play Wii 1:1 pixels. The TVs I tried enlarge the image in Wii mode, even when WiiU mode fits the screen 1:1

It's funny because I played some Rayman Speed run with the wife and son and before turning the system off, I checked for a manual update and it said that I was up to date.
Then I come into this thread and see the last post that says that it's downloading now so I went back to update the system.
So much faster now but I did notice some slight freezes at some point. Hopefully it won't repeat itself.
It's strange to see an orange light on the console.
