After seeing this post yesterday explaining the Baldur's Gate Series I'm really hoping that Beamdog can get the licence dispute figured out and get back on track.

I'd really like to see BGII on Steam, and Mask of the Betrayer.

I could argue that point. I think that BG1 isn't much worse than BG2 and BG2 actually misses some things that make BG1 great. Basically, the first game does a really good job of capturing the feel of a small level adventuring party wandering the Sword Coast. The absence of a major epic storyline only helps that, as you spend most of the time wandering numerous open-world locations and looking for sidequests, so it's a bit similar to Fallout and/or TES in that regard. What's special is that relaxed atmosphere: you're just a bunch of small Forgotten Realms fry doing day-to-day stuff here and there, nothing too much epic, you're not saving the world and even the highest level stuff is merely on a smaller scale, give or take. That's not something often seen in RPGs and it's actually done pretty good.

BG2 on the other hand has a really thorough, epic and engaging storyline, but its location structure is not open world and it's more or less similar to what we see in later Bioware games (vastly inferior in my opinion). So it's a bit different in its core and in its narrative. The levels here are considerably higher (it's a direct continuation of the first game after all) and by the second half everything gets decidedly epic and you finally do get to save the world. It's not by any means a bad thing, but it's also just standard RPG fare, completely different from the unique setup we saw in BG1. There's also the expansion, Throne of Bhaal, and that's where it gets absolutely ridiculous with how over the top everything is.

I still like BG2 more and it is indeed the best WRPG I've ever played (I even have a BG2 avatar!), but it's not that much better than the first game and, by God, it's not skippable.

Didn't particularly like Mask of the Betrayer, by the way. The horrendous interface, camera and sloppy 3D graphics absolutely killed it for me. The writing is decent, but not nearly as good as Planescape: Torment or even BG2.

When I try to click into ff vii it doesnt work just want to see the price. Can someone tell me

FFVII isn't available on the Store yet.

Purchasing options were added recently, but no price. The app, and the purchasing options were actually updated a few times today.

All right, got through on GMG. Downloaded 400 Days afterwards...

And now the game doesn't boot up. Right, this is Telltale.

EDIT: Looks like I need to run it in compatibility mode, is that correct?

EDIT: Oh wait, I forgot about that stupid DLL file.

Any thoughts on Grotesque Tactics and it's sequel? The stuff I've been reading sounds mixed but under $4 for the two of them is tempting. From what I gather the games aren't too complex with the draw being the humor which also seems to be a very polarizing aspect.

Just posted this in the thread, but that's dead so figure I'll ask here:

Sorry for gravedigging, but I've just realised this game is on Steam and I have a massive itch for some Tony Hawk lately.

Any good? I did consider just playing the PS2 versions, but would need to buy a PS2 to get them. It's only cheap still, but for £8.99 I wonder if this will scratch the same itch or just leave me wanting the old ones again. How much content is there?

Sooooooon. Why it's taken this long I'll never know, since it was already on the SE e-store last year.

Because Square of Japan is a joke.

The PC port is apparently pretty bad.

So I want to go for the Ghost achievement in Dishonored, but I was seen by someone in an early mission. Does it work retroactively, if I were to replay that mission from the main menu, or would I have to restart the entire game?

You need to do them all in a row.

You can't use mission select to get the achievement. You would need to load a save game and play from that point.

I don't think Valve cares, it's the call of the individual mod. I posted a few times when an indie game was cheap somewhere and never got a complaint.

What happened to the Divinity 2 expansion? Divinity series is on sale at GGate, but the expansion is nowhere to be seen... Is it something with dtp's bankrupcy?

I think you need to replay the mission immediately after finishing it if you have to repair a mistake. I don't think you can fix it once you hit the menu.

I found some generic date for the Deus Ex: Human Revolution Director's Cut (DX:HR-DX #yolo), 25 October at my local game store. That would be perfect.

Well the giveaway lasts until 8pm eastern so hopefully they can get it fixed by then. If i would have known the site was having problems before i created the giveaway i would have set the timer for a day or two instead of a couple of hours.

Oh man what an emotional rollercoaster, and the teaser for the 4th in the end..

Best out of the three so far, felt a bit lenghty compared to the previous ones tho.
I wonder if the guy on the walkie-talkie is the same guy who left in the beginning of the Ep2 to search for his friends.

Steam lets you take .pngs. What more do you want?

And how did you make it look like a console game in those shots?

That low resolution.

I'll give it a try again later.

That character is actually a cameo character from the television show, I think, so I don't think so. I'm still working through the game myself. It's janky as hell (typical Telltale) but I'm addicted to the story anyway.

Serious Sam is a wicked gahbidge series for chowdaheads.
You people just like the chase. When the summer sale comes you won't even know what to do with yourselves.

So I bit on that GMG Borderlands 2 sale the other day even though I already have Borderlands 2. This leaves me with a spare Borderlands 2 code.

Does anyone want it? This is JUST THE GAME and not the DLC. First to quote this post gets it.

Don't take that Borderlands 2 key. I'm considering starting a new account because I have that game.

Thanks for the giveaway
