It wasn't and even if it was, that ship sailed a long time ago with the THQ bundle.

I remember them pushing DRM free hard. As soon as they got big name games they let that go. Would be cool to see EA giving out DRM free copies of BF3 but suppose that is just dreaming.

EA should've done this bundle straight from their website just like THQ should have. But at least EA isn't taking any direct money from this. The only thing they're getting out of it is promotion for Origin.

For whom? You're getting games in return for your donation, I don't think you can write it off as charity. I'm sure it's tax deductible for EA.
