But then why not just post it in the spoiler thread? Even the impressions, especially when you know this is a strict no spoiler, links, non official images thread?

He's just usually very critical of games, like Derrick01.
He said it grew on him. He didn't like it at first apparently. I am a huge fan of the handling and physics of IV so I'm hoping I like V's just as much as well.
Yeah he is kind of jaded and pessimistic about games nowadays. Can be abrasive about it too

Thanks! I guess the word isn't really calm. More like calm mixed with a hint of crazy. I'm really trying to keep my expectation in check for how robust gta online might be. Don't want to be let down. However, it does look like it could live up to what they say. On a side note, Midnight launch for this guy.

Guys, is this thread going to be a spoiler fest after the 17th or is it gonna stay spoiler free? I'm not receiving the game before the 18th according to Amazon and I would like to avoid heavy spoilers. Or any spoiler since I'm basically in the dark about this game apart from the trailers.
His streams have been an absolute blast as well....easily the best/funniest/batshit insane ones out there. Just from watching him play, you can tell he means every word of this
I'm assuming that there will be a spoiler thread for this game going up soon. If there is, I would still be careful about browsing this thread.

Eh. The exclusive club mindset, coupled with the lack of any real commentary on the meat of the game, excluding driving, even outside of spoilers, makes any fawning impression less credible to me.
For instance, a 10/10 TPS? Rockstar managed to fit enough areas designed specifically for combat, to be the best possible example within that genre of games? That isn't even an expectation of GTA V.
I'll wait until the new game smell has worn off to get any truly objective impressions, especially for an open world game. There is such as thing as too good to be true.

Guess I'll just play it safe and stay off GAF on the 17th. And hopefully for the following two weeks too if the game's as good as it's shaping up to be

You shouldn't worry about story spoilers, but everything else will probably be fair game.
You can assume that we'll be talking about game mechanics and stuff, but story spoilers/secret stuff will hopefully be tagged.
For open talk about spoilers, there will be another thread. But depending on what you define as a spoiler, you might want to bail out the OT on the 17th

Yeah, I managed to get through Last of Us and read through the main OT without anything being ruined, and that was a game that was much more narrative dependent.
I also imagine that mods will be keeping a close eye on things.

I dunno, I expected them to essentially more or less copy Max Payne 3's shooting over into GTA V. MP3 is the absolute best 3rd Person Shooter I've every played bogged down by unskippable cut-scenes. If they managed to get 2/3 of that into GTA V I could see how someone would be impressed when compared to others in the open-world genre. Just my two cents I guess. Sethos is usually very very critical towards games and is quick to point out flaws, so I think he's probably telling the truth.
