Heavily so. I can't believe anyone would still say otherwise.
Yeah, it's a visual downgrade but so what? This still looks in-freaking-credible for a launch window title. I need this noooooow!
It's not launch window though is it?
Does anybody actually get excited by the prospect of 'randomly generated' dungeons? When I hear that, I just think of a series of copy & paste chambers interlinked by a series of copy & paste corridors and 'T' junctions with dead ends.
Give me a set number of man-made, thoughtfully designed maps over 'randomly generated' content any day. I guess that takes a degree of time and effort though.
You can't show off a steak and then turn around and try to get people hyped over the spam you're making. They should have went on a long media blackout.
Would have been amazing.

Disagree.
I still think they have a shot at getting closer to that original teaser. The lighting and assets all seem very realistic.
It's the animation combined with the excellent motion blur that pushes it to a different level, I think. The motion blur should be there but we won't see such high quality animation in gameplay, though I do think they could do that scene as a realtime cutscene. After all, the cutscenes they produced with MT Framework were always stunning and significantly more impressive looking than the game itself.
Look at the RE6 cutscenes. They run smoothly on consoles and look incredible while the game itself felt decidedly less so. They WERE realtime but not representative of what you see while playing.
It's Sparse Voxel Cone GI, which is similar to what Epic was originally going to do for Unreal Engine 4, but actually efficient enough to run on PS4.
Looks good to me.
I think a lot of people here are confused on the ground texture issue. Based on how MT Framework functioned and what we've seen of this game, they make heavy use of motion blur and the floor, in this case, is blurred by the forward momentum of the camera. I'm not convinced we're seeing the textures properly represented as a result of the motion blur. The blurriness of the textures is also consistent with the direction of character travel in each shot. The dragon is also being shown with blur, as you can see.Ground textures are awful. I never really believed that what was shown back in february was real time gameplay though, so this 'downgrade' does not really surprise me.
I also wonder what this game really is, hopefully we will know soon as TGS is around the corner
Like I said, we could see that type of animation in realtime cutscenes (which is what that reveal trailer was, no doubt) but not in gameplay. People already bitch about animation priority issues and that type of animation would take it to a new level.Animations in the little gameplay they have shown look pretty good, although obviously not on the level shown at the PS4 reveal.
Would have been amazing.

game still looks good, but fuck, the difference is huge
Why won't they show direct feed.....the game looks amazing.

Besides, those shots aren't exactly of super high quality. A lower quality image combined with motion blur produces some ugly results where fine details cannot be resolved. I wouldn't count on the textures being of low quality.

i guess his camera doesn't have auto-focus.
Anyway, is this a launch window game ?
The fluid dynamics based fluid is not a lie and is present in the game.Pfff...what a bullshit.
Normally I don't care this much about graphics, but seeing these images, the reveal video back in Feb was an obvious and serious lie. I considered that simulated, fluid-like fire the only true next-gen effect and it was a lie. The fire in the new videos, and screens look not even to be in the same ballpark.
Disappointed.

Thanks for the info, that would explain the 'downgrade' these pics show. Hopefully the game will look better if we get some videos from TGS.I think a lot of people here are confused on the ground texture issue. You can see in the gameplay vids that the effect is present. There's nothing quite as dramatic as the teaser but it still functions as a liquid. There's a tech demo floating around demonstrating this implementation as well. It's a big feature of the engine.Where? I mean if there is a video demonstrating that they look the same, or even close to the feb reveal, then please give me link. It might just revive my hope in this game.
