Heavily so. I can't believe anyone would still say otherwise.

Does it look downgraded ? Sure

But i can't believe people are saying it is "downgraded" as if game won't be looking better for game that has no release date yet and could be as well 2014 fall game.

Especially since IQ and overall look of game is mainly done just days before going gold.

It is like those Motorstorm PRift threads all over again. Devs post work in progress screenshots people say it looks shitty. Then game is released and people pants are blown off.

If those shots would be released month of two before release date then sure we could complain about not living up to tech demo. Since there is no release date and it is strongly suggested that game will be late 2014 title i don't see reason why we should review now graphics.

Imo if Meeting trailer is their goal then i am pretty sure they are on good way to deliver those visuals. Their fire tech for example runs like in 10fps now.

As for visuals from meeting only thing really next gen was Fire tech which looked completely awesome. Dark Sorcerer by Quantic Dream is imo much more technically impressive considering that it also does a lot more on screen than just two characters and bland cave.

What is it with this game and blurry shots? Ever since the Feb "tech demo" almost all screenshots, and even the trailers, have all been blurry in some way or another.

What is it that they are trying to hide?

Does anybody actually get excited by the prospect of 'randomly generated' dungeons? When I hear that, I just think of a series of copy & paste chambers interlinked by a series of copy & paste corridors and 'T' junctions with dead ends.

Give me a set number of man-made, thoughtfully designed maps over 'randomly generated' content any day. I guess that takes a degree of time and effort though.

Yeah I agree.

So awesome, can't wait for this game. Also I'm really curious as to what other kind of monsters there will be since so far we've only seen Dragons, Manbearpigs and those Doom ghosts.

You can't show off a steak and then turn around and try to get people hyped over the spam you're making. They should have went on a long media blackout.

i'll translate what i can

MC is ravens, a group of people with powers to read memories of things
you enter a dungeon that was supposedly in bohemia in the year 1494, reading memories of things to better understand culture, history etc
other players in the dungeon will also be ravens

in the demo, the goal is to defeat an orcish enemy, you can use fall trap (if you played any monster hunter games you know what i'm talking about), some kind of flame trap?, some kind of automatically arrow shooting trap

touchpad = shows map
L1 = run
L2 = ready your weapon
R1 = weak attack
R2 = strong attack
up/down directional button = choosing skill, triangle to use the skill
left/right directional button = choosing magic item, square to ready and R1/R2 to use

there's magic fields in the dungeons, stay on them to teleport to the next floor

didn't bother reading the rest, seems like unimportant stuff

I still think they have a shot at getting closer to that original teaser. The lighting and assets all seem very realistic.

It's the animation combined with the excellent motion blur that pushes it to a different level, I think. The motion blur should be there but we won't see such high quality animation in gameplay, though I do think they could do that scene as a realtime cutscene. After all, the cutscenes they produced with MT Framework were always stunning and significantly more impressive looking than the game itself.

Look at the RE6 cutscenes. They run smoothly on consoles and look incredible while the game itself felt decidedly less so. They WERE realtime but not representative of what you see while playing.

Ground textures are awful. I never really believed that what was shown back in february was real time gameplay though, so this 'downgrade' does not really surprise me.
I also wonder what this game really is, hopefully we will know soon as TGS is around the corner

Animations in the little gameplay they have shown look pretty good, although obviously not on the level shown at the PS4 reveal.

Why are you reading my tag instead of the title of my post?
Those images have all kinds of graphical problems. But, I'll just wait for direct feed footage. There's too many variables in a still image of a moving picture.

Looks good to me.

.
Other than the floor texture, I have no problem with this.
They're obviously not finished working on this game, and they shouldn't be.. is there even a release date for this yet? I don't know why some people are so upset about this.

At least they're putting something out as they're working on it. It sucks when you're waiting on a game, and no media is being released for it whatsoever. If anything, by the time it comes out, we'll have images to look at the progress that they've made.

wow ppls. its not what they promised us from a graphical point but really.. atleast wait until there are previews about the game. If it looks like this at 60fps then holy damn all over me.

I think a lot of people here are confused on the ground texture issue. Based on how MT Framework functioned and what we've seen of this game, they make heavy use of motion blur and the floor, in this case, is blurred by the forward momentum of the camera. I'm not convinced we're seeing the textures properly represented as a result of the motion blur. The blurriness of the textures is also consistent with the direction of character travel in each shot. The dragon is also being shown with blur, as you can see.

Besides, those shots aren't exactly of super high quality. A lower quality image combined with motion blur produces some ugly results where fine details cannot be resolved. I wouldn't count on the textures being of low quality.

Animations in the little gameplay they have shown look pretty good, although obviously not on the level shown at the PS4 reveal.
Like I said, we could see that type of animation in realtime cutscenes (which is what that reveal trailer was, no doubt) but not in gameplay. People already bitch about animation priority issues and that type of animation would take it to a new level.

This is alpha footage and it realy looks good.
Only look at DriveClub how much better it looks than couple of months ago. I think this game (Deep Down) will be just amazing

And they made him a Lord of Cinder. Not for virtue, but for might. Such is a lord, I suppose. But here I ask. Do we have a sodding chance?

Best shot of a next-gen game so far. This might as well have been Demon's Souls 2. Just switch the dragon with Vanguard or something and we're set!

I'm such a nerd... looking at this chest, I really, REALLY want to open it... show me the looooooooot!

Those screens look really odd. It almost looks like concept art to me. It could just be a lot of motion blur or something though.

I'm looking at these screens and thinking to myself " next gen monster hunter" It would be interesting. On another note though. These shots do look downgraded. Way downgraded. I'm looking at the textures and everything. We'll see how it looks when its closer to release.

Ya know, when I first saw that initial trailer it almost sold me on a PS4 LOL. I just couldn't sit out another generation with that much of a difference. I mean I'm happy with my WiiU but that first trailer was amazing. Now looking at the new shots I'm thinking there is hope for WiiU yet. I am actually hoping that they can get it up to par with the initial unveiling. That would be sweet. I want to believe.

Textures really got downgraded.
It belongs to first gen ps4 games and game is not even finished yet. Also compression is terrible in those shots.

It is painful that it doesn't look like the render which was freaking outstanding. In terms of visuals it's a mixed bag yet still as long as it animates well enough it seems to be hitting a decent standard with the promise of improvement. Still I hold on to hope that the game itself will be fun. I instantly thought of a Next Gen PSO but with an inherent variety for playthroughs...
A man can dream though, a man can dream.

When not washed out by lighting and poor quality capture, I thought that textures looked pretty damn good in parts of the trailer and gameplay footage. Problem might be resolution. Really hope it isn't 720p. Would be a killer for me.

Pfff...what a bullshit.

Normally I don't care this much about graphics, but seeing these images, the reveal video back in Feb was an obvious and serious lie. I considered that simulated, fluid-like fire the only true next-gen effect and it was a lie. The fire in the new videos, and screens look not even to be in the same ballpark.

Disappointed.

I can understand that those "new" to new console reveals may have fallen in the trap of a"new console reveal" but if you were at least around when Sony showed Kill Zone 2, one should know that at best we may get something similar with the console that comes AFTER.

That's why I absolutely did not give a fuck when either Sony or Microsoft revealed their consoles (be it this year or the last time they did). I only looked for price and launch date.

Anyway, is this a launch window game ?

The fluid dynamics based fluid is not a lie and is present in the game.

Where? I mean if there is a video demonstrating that they look the same, or even close to the feb reveal, then please give me link. It might just revive my hope in this game.

Thanks for the info, that would explain the 'downgrade' these pics show. Hopefully the game will look better if we get some videos from TGS.

You can see in the gameplay vids that the effect is present. There's nothing quite as dramatic as the teaser but it still functions as a liquid. There's a tech demo floating around demonstrating this implementation as well. It's a big feature of the engine.

Show me the opposite. Where did you see traditional 2d fire effects in this game?
