*ACTUAL* MSoft XBO OS Dev
on October 28, 2013 at 3:52 am

I don’t know who the hell that last guy was, but I’m an actual Xbox dev. Shit is flying here and nothing is ready. XBL crashes like crazy, snap feature may not make it for launch, and smartglass is not even close to being cooked. I’m going to have to come in on the weekends for the next year with the way things are going. Thing is I was here when the Xbox 360 launched, and man that was a vision and a product that we had faith in. It was beautiful. Kinect had it’s detractors, but it rejuvinated the Xbox brand in a whole new way. And now this is all going to shit. There is no vision for XB1, just a lot of meddling from the higher ups and no clear goals other than TV TV TV. Most of this won’t be fixed at launch. I would quit now if I didn’t have collegues that would suffer because of it.

Also who the hell is Kevin Dent. No one has touch any retail kits here unless they’re a part of the MS team

Something doesnt seem right with this post but thats just me.

Lol Have we really come to the point where we're posting random unverified comments from a blog?

Not bitter, just unsweetened
Given that you've been one of those championing this notion that the hardware differences between the two consoles are negligible, and that we'd see barely any differences between multiplatform titles, I find this extra amusing.

Changing subjects, i see? I am hardly surprised.

This guy sounds more legitimate than the last phony. But then again it's not really telling us anything new, just reaffirming what we've already heard.

I have a good feeling Sony AND Microsoft are flipping a brick right now. They both seem to not be ready for launch. What does this mean for us? Well, rough edges.

Remember how the Wii U OS was slow as molasses for 6 months? Something like that.

As someone who isn't planning on buying either console at launch, I can safely say that I'm getting enough entertainment from all of this to make up for it by the shedload.

By the time the consoles are out and the full ass storm arrives, it'll be fun as hell regardless of which console is more fucked.

Thanks mortimer for breaking the news. Seems certain websites and game journalists refuse to publish anything negative. Be as it may, its launch, I expect issues for both consoles just long as it doesn't break the experience.

False equilavancy FTW.

I don't think we can discount the possibility that Sony and Microsoft are having issues with their at they moment. And that's no way of knowing if those issues will be resolved in 2-3 weeks.

It's fun to pile on Microsoft. But Who's seen a full on demo of the PS4 system, and why again are they not releasing review units before their event? I was defending it earlier today, maybe it's time to take another look at the hints being dropped around both console launches

Just thinking about it..........have we ever seen the full UI of Xbox One off screen? I mean we have seen like bits of it, but never the OS fully running in the MSFT store have we?

Anonymous asked:I'm not sure Sony has been particularly forthcoming with unedited footage of their OS, either. They've both been pretty cagey in that regard.

Jeff: Didn’t some French site post a ton of raw, off-screen footage of themselves fucking around with a PS4? Could’ve sworn I saw that awhile ago.

Anyway, yeah, they’ve both been a little cagey, I guess. But I feel like I know way more about how the PS4 front-end will look and work, while all the Xbox One dashboard and multitasking footage looks… fake?

I suspect the talk of them having trouble will end up being at least partially true. I’d call it a “gut feeling” but that’s probably just that habanero I ate yesterday causing issues.
