Microsoft shipped the consoles to retailers and yet could not afford to have a launch or release date prior to the PS4? I'm a bit confused as to why they position themselves in such a way if retailers are already receiving stock.
dude really??

if retailers didn't have stock by now I would be worried.

you think you can guarantee the shipment of over a million consoles to thousands of different locations without a hiccup in less than a week?

An Xbox Ambassador/Enforcement Team member (whatever that is) is trying to tell him that he is bound to the embargo. Wonder if he/she is speaking for Microsoft or just doing it on his or her own?

That power bring is fucking huge. Not only is the console huge, but also is its power brick. What fucking sorcery is there at Sony HQ where they can make a console smaller than the Xbox One without an external power brick?

LISTEN kid, If you get banned.

Everybody in gaf here needs to get ahold of a SONY rep and get this guy a Free ps4. The marketing would be insane.

I believe in gaf

keep fighting the good fight soldier.

also it would be awesome if banderas delivers the ps4 personally to him.

and of course free ps plus for 1 year.

@ people wondering why the brick is external.

It makes more sense for the consumer. Internal power supplies are not consumer replaceable. So when it dies (when not if) you *need* to send it back to them for repair. OTOH external bricks can be had for a cheap price and replaced easily. In that respect Microsoft cares a little more for the consumer.

I can't imagine how that phone call would go.

"Mr. Banderas, this is Kazuo Hirai from Sony. We'd like you to do something for us. Deliver a PS4 to this no name person and help us market our console. There will be something for you in it of course.

"...What?"

Admittedly I'm not the brightest knife in the tool shed, but would this not mean online players could turn off your XBox One while playing online?

in that respect, whogivesashit.. take the time out & properly engineer a solution so that you can have Ryse up and running for 3 days and beyond with no worries.

It's why sony does Hardware primarily, and the opposite with MS.

I guess It was a skype call on his computer. Nobody is certain if people can turn off your system through audio from the console though.

If you allow it to recognize their voice signatures, I think. You'd have to go out of your way to allow that, no?

Man, you are for a good start. First you call people retarded now this. I want a small console with no extra shit ruining my living room design. I would say Sony cares about me as consumer much more, since they provide cheaper, more powerful and better designed system. Your TV, Microwave and fridge power supplies are internal, clearly those with external are better products.

Engineering something well won't prevent it from failing. Someone in an earlier post even said their power supply blew out due to a surge (even with surge suppressors/protectors it can still happen) and the same thing happened to their friend with a 360. It just makes more sense. But based on your comment it looks like haters gon' hate.

As for NDA's, he hasn't signed any so in that respect he can do what he wants.
Also if MS bans him for getting people hyped about their console, they deserve all the shit that would fly in their direction on this guys behalf.

They need to hang this in the cubicle of anyone who would consider banning this guy's account for playing a game he legally obtained.

He was using a separate device in order to make a free Skype call.

Yep.

Kinect ignores sound coming from your Xbox, including chat and skype.

It will pick up sound coming from your room as well as any separate devices in that room, including skype on a MacBook.

So why doesn't every electronic we own have a external power supply? every other company hates the consumer and microsoft is doing us a goodwill gesture with the external brick? LMFAO

It would just show you the stupidity of MS. If they ban this guy when he's actually getting the hype train rolling.......pure stupidity.

How does that matter?

A sound source can be someone else in the room, or a surround sound system. Unless voice chat will never come out from back speakers?

From today's UI video, I was under the impression that only people that have signed in could issue voice commands.

In the articles released this morning they didn't say it would actually detect the different in your voice. More that it would detect where your voice was coming from and then detect who you are visually. Don't know if this applies to all actions or just ones specific to signing in to a particular user. I could imagine scenarios where letting another person turn off the Xbox would be useful which is maybe why it heard that skype person and even though there was not a real body around it went ahead with shutting off? I'm not too worried about people in the house fucking shit up because that's par for the course, but yeah getting messed up with people over the net would be poor and probably not likely.
