I compiled almost all the suggestions I've seen on the forum and other sites, in a list on Reddit.

http://redd.it/1w9y15

If we had some way to send that link to Sony, or for them to see and have knowledge of everything that people are missing the PS4.
Mind adding standard bluetooth headset support? Still can't believe that's not in the ps4 already.

I always get a long 20 sec boot up from stand-by. is it supposed to start up quicker?

When I first got my PS4 at launch waking up from standby was instant. No PS logo. But somewhere along the line it just became normal cold boot and I have no idea why. I know some people never had that instant on.

it goes to safe mode to install something for the update. you don't see the options but it has the same background and layout.

Ah yeah, I get that part. I was thinking about it booting up to full safe mode with the options and that. Other than the power cycling, sounds like he doesn't have a major issue at least then.

Does anyone else have really slow dl speeds? Mine took way too long to dl and I have a solid connection.

Nope, less than a minute. Wired on a 120mbit connection mind you.

When I first got my ps4 waking up from "stanby" would take about 4 seconds. Then one day waking up became the same as turning the system on taking around 20 seconds. I was dissapointed that this update didn't fix that issue. I hope it's not just Sony updating cause they're trying to sell a headset
If you're downloading something in low-power mode and press the PS or standby button to fully power up, it only takes 3-5 seconds like you experienced. Once PS4's finished downloading, it powers down to full standby and takes the normal 20 seconds to power up again.

Once SCE's fully implemented the standby/resume feature, it should always take 3-5 seconds to get to the login screen unless restarting after a system software update or crash.

The PS logo still shows during a quick-startup but if your TV's slow negotiating an HDMI connection you may miss it.

Seems like they "Fixed" the cycling through pictures crash bug. It doesnt crash you now, but the picture still turns dark blue and doesn't display and the console freaks out a bit. But it doesn't crash... that's a start.

Everytime I would wake up it would be almost instant. I wasn't downloading anything. Also I feel like stanby mode is completely useless lately. Doesn't install any updates or do anything else besides charge my controller.

I finally got the headset to work..........

By switching usb ports from slot 2 to 1.

I put the dongle in slot 2 because my charger is always plugged in, swapped them over and was recognised instantly.

What a fucking strange issue that is, anyone else have the headset working in slot 2?

Yeah lol, I hear sound from my monitor when the volume slider is full.

Perhaps you can check your system software to confirm it did in fact install 1.6? Otherwise an initialization or restoration of your system may be in order.

Ahh, weird.

Output voicechat to speakers

can't we already do this?

that's fucked. try doing a Database Rebuild from safemode and/or powering off the PS4.

Really great news about the pulse headset. Mine was already getting angry with me not using it! lol
But I expected to see more improvements, like the possibility to pause the download.

My PS4's WiFi goes down STRAIGHT after turning on the headset.. I turned it on and the internet went down on my PS4.. and then I turned it off and it was fine.. I tried again and it turned off again.
Anyone else?:(

Is it the main reason because hdmi out not works in some monitor? Such a bullshit, what's the reason behind this thing? The only console who give headaches are only the playstations, why sony doesn't get away this crap?

You reckon its meant to work via the usb slot 2?

My charger works but not the dongle.

unless the manual specifically says for you to use slot1, the two ports should function exactly the same. it sounds like one is supplying data/power while the other is only supplying power.

EDIT: i just tested out both USB ports with my controller in safemode and they are both transmitting data. you can try this out yourself to rule out a faulty port. or someone with the same dongle can test it out because I don't have a Sony headset.

standby is definitely bugged

if i buy a game no the web store it will download to the ps4 immediately
i can also remote play into my ps4 just fine

but so far i have yet to have a patch download while in standby. it always just starts downloading when i turn the thing on

Downloading now. SO SLOW!

Isn't the PS4 supposed to download this shit while in standby mode?

I read on GAF when the patch went live. I turned on PS4 probably 30 minutes later. The download was 90% done, and other games had patches updated as well.

I believe it works but there is no indication that its downloading anything until you turn in.

Well all I know is that I turned my PS4 20 minutes ago, and nothing was downloaded. Not the 1.60 firware update, and not the AC4 update either. It prompted me that it was available to download immediately though, so it was aware that it was out. I don't get it.

I'd love for the orange light to pulse or something if it was currently downloading. Just some way to let people know that their PS4 is indeed doing something in standby. That and they really need to swap the white and blue LEDs (Blue for on, white for safe mode/booting)

Out of curiosity, are you on wifi or ethernet?

Just turned my PS4 on and the update file was already downloaded and ready to go (as were a few game patches). But it is bugged cause sometimes game patches don't start until I turn the PS4 on.

Definitely better than the PS3 (not patching until the game was started, not being able to patch in the background), but it also needs a bit of work.

I think patches aren't downloaded in stand-by for some reason.

i guess not

Agreed. Although - today for the first time, the patch was downloaded and waiting for me, so strange that it all of a sudden started working.

That one? - Yes

I used this for 6hrs tonight (could not find the dongle for my Pulse :( ) but it worked flawlessly has really made a massive difference in BF4 with the 7.1 a real game changer

I'm not getting any sound through the pulse elites on my PS4. I've got it set mid way between sound and voice, outputting all audio to headphones, but still nothing.

I never used them on my PS3, is their some hardware update I need to do or something?

might be a silly question but many a time ive thought there was something wrong with my Pulse or Originals but id accidently turned volume all way down plus make sure set the voice/sound to where it grabs

Scrolling through screencaps is still broken. Try shuffling through 10 or so and it will stop and sit on a black screen. It used to crash the whole system.

I just turned my PS4 on and tried the second USB port.. it is now working fine. Whether that was restarting the system or because of the USB port I don't know.

I think I know why this is.

If you initiate a download it pushes that request immediately.

But I think it checks for patches once every 24h.

If you "beat" the timer to the patch, so to speak, it simply hasn't gotten around to it yet and therefore starts downloading at that time.

Make sense?

This update "bricked" my Turtle Beach DPX21's mic...
It's microphone worked before the update but only if I plugged in the stock microphone in the controller then pulled it out. Now it doesn't.
I was so happy when it turned out that I can get it working on the PS4 (didn't work on the PS3 either) and now it's worthless again. :(

Bit off topic, but is the Pulse a good headset for getting 5.1 surround from games?
Or does it feels "virtual" like almost every other cheap 5.1 headset around?

It seems to me that the consoles dont receive a wake up when a download is available immediately. It seems to be staggered amongst the console base. My AC4 update was done when my console was powered on but the system update only commenced thereafter.

This is purely my anecdotal assessment after the posts I have just read and what I have experienced thus far with the console.

I am pretty sure this is exactly how it works.

They're all going to be virtual as the speakers aren't actually positioned around the room. That's why they're a poor replacement for even a low end HT system. However they are good if you can't get true 5.1.
