It was very impressive until you realise how limited you are in interacting or exploring the environment. It's definitely the best looking movie set tour I've been on.
Games like Crysis will always be more technically impressive as you can do something with the gameplay mechanics and physics whilst being blown away by graphics.
The Order easily had the best visuals I've ever seen in a console game, and it wasn't in 1080p. Imagine what the sequel will look like...*drools*
The Order shouldn't get too comfortable. As we all know, art design is king when it comes to visuals and Bloodborne releases in 17 days.
Aother thread on The Order's graphics. This is why I keep saying the graphics are overrated. It's blurry and grainy, it's brownish grey and it runs at less pixels than 900p. It's also very confined and linear. Some people are calling the graphics 'clean' and saying the IQ is great.
I'm glad other people seem to think the same. I feel like I've been taking crazy pills when reading comments on this game's graphics.

Going from The Order to Resident Evil Revelations 2 for me was jarring to say the least. haha
You have no idea what you at talking about at all... It has the same pixels as 1080p....
Buy nice attempt to try to derail the thread... "Confined and linear"??? What does that even have to do with graphics? Did you not read the thread title before you posted??
Don't think so, because next Uncharted will have bigger area than the precedent ones, and 1080p resolution, The Order is able to reach that graphics and effects thanks to its sub 1080p resolution plus linear areas

1,536,000 vs 1,440,000 pixels.No
1920*800 > 1600*900
No it does not.
It has the same pixel density as 1080p. It does not have the same amount of overall pixels.
game is for sure beautiful and undoubtedly has the best graphics on console.
My personal graphics benchmark from what I've seen is Star Citizen, but The Order is indeed a looker.
Even ignoring the clear technical ignorance here I can't believe you said the game looked blurry. It doesn't at all. Its one of the most detailed games ever while maintaining crisp IQ. Its stunning.Aother thread on The Order's graphics. This is why I keep saying the graphics are overrated. It's blurry and grainy, it's brownish grey and it runs at less pixels than 900p. While the game is definitely at the top as far as technical visuals currently go, I wanted to share a few shots of the game without the motion blur visible, which does make things more intense while in motion (and temporal AA is generally in the mix). However, without it, the artistry and quality is easier to see, as in those dev shots in the OP's post.
Same here, at least when it comes to how the gameplay in a game that took 4+ years to make utterly pales in comparison to a low-budget effort that probably took around a fourth of that time.
It is glorious. Dying to see what other Sony studios have that can compete with this.
One of the many posts that misses the point, this is solely about the graphics.
Many seem to take this stance of using the mechanics and game style as a back handed way of diminishing the quality of the topic at hand, how it looks!
I think KZ SF's graphics are better.
You're still missing the point. This thread is literally about the graphics and the OP points out that we are not talking about your "issue" or anything relative to the game play aspects. Did you not read the OP?Hardly missing the point when I said that it does look very impressive, it's just you taking issue with the fact I pointed out it's a guided virtual tour instead of a game.
I just find games that look graphically amazing and are still games more impressive than walking down the best looking corridors ever.

You know how in every generation there is this one game that gives that big WOW, the first one that truly give you that next gen feeling.
Previous gen it was Gears on X360 , MGS2 on PS2 was that game for the 6 consoles generation to give you that shock and I think The Order without any doubt will be remembered as the first truly next gen game for the 8th console generation.
Wish it was better cause usually these games are great as well.
^ Ryse and Killzone were pretty much next gen from day one though. Both games were and still are a definitive step up from anything last gen, as is The Order.

I'm not missing the point at all, the OP says things like "the skyboxes don't look like skyboxes" "The steam rising from the buildings and the London city sprawling in all directions makes the whole game feel grounded and just more real than anything else." Well to me I still very much felt like I was stuck, walking down set paths instead of moving around London, you'd look off into the distance and could tell what is and isn't game space.
And "You move with great weight and the soft body physics of your clothes and them not clipping together all over the place just looks so amazing" I saw plenty of my guns clipping through Galahads clothes. Really let's not get ahead of ourselves over the graphics.
Amazing Nib.
Can I put these in the OP?
Ryse is my Gears, this would be more like my Uncharted 2. The Order just blows me away and makes all other games look crap by comparison. That's how I felt about Uncharted 2.You know how in every generation there is this one game that gives that big WOW, the first one that truly give you that next gen feeling.

I think one thing that gets forgotten is not just how good the graphics are, but how well they perform... With some games coming out with screen tearing, consistantly mixed framerates, graphical glitches, and needing to be heavily patched with large patches after release, The Order performed very well with these aesthetics basically straight out of the box...
That's pretty refreshing with what The Order is pushing graphically....
Great shots
Here are a couple of mine. Not as good as those though. Pardon the bad quality.
It is definitely a benchmark for console games at least, and reminds me of Killzone 2 at that.
Other things it shares with Killzone 2 are eye hurting dof, frustratingly narrow fov and brown colours.
Finally some screens that make the game justice. GJ Nib and Xenorevlis!
I should look at my saved screens from my play through some day also, must have pressed the share button at least 100+ times lol. It's really one of the most awesome features of this gen for me, I have so maaaany pictures of Infamous, TLOU and now The Order.
