The viewdistance isnt any bigger than on console. The pop in is VERY noticable.
That's rather disappointing.
What affects pop-in? CPU or GPU?
Fuck me.
T...try...try 720p...
LOOOOL :'D

I wasn't expecting anything big because of the parity crap, but I certainly was expecting a solid 30 FPS with a 700-series GPU on a PC. I might check into this game later on, but I'm currently rocking a 780ti and running things on 1440p... so thats that.
Shouldn't have to consider downgrading my monitor to have a game running properly, since I doubt that even an SLI of 780tis won't run this without hiccups.

This game is CPU bound remember guys, so post info on what kind of CPU you are running
Running through Paris, with the crowds and all - I get 45-60 fps with FXAA and everything else maxed out. Some odd stuttering though, might be loading..
Runs better than Black Flag guys. lol On my machine.. at least.
TXAA in Paris = Death -- 8fps. lol So Paris is definitely alot more demanding than any prologue sequence.
Oh man, so this is more like a bug and not something related to the power of the consoles.
Da fuq? Where?
And console games must gouge out your eyes if you see jaggies in that shot.
I got this free with my GTX 970. I've only got a Core i5 760 at 3.6ghz with 8GB Ram. Will my CPU be to weak for this game even though I'm using a GTX 970?
Do a comparison with 4X MSAA or *shudders* FXAA and it'll likely be clear how much less aliased TXAA is. 8XMSAA is probably better but that's a pretty dramatic performance hog.
Look at the legs of the kid for Aliasing.
Look under the information "Versailles" for the muddy textures. I dunno if the OP changes images, but it's apparent there than from the OP's shot of the same scene.
Here's the viewdistance for anyone curious, its a compressed screenshot and looks horrible but you'll get the gist of it. http://puu.sh/cLl4J/efb216b790.jpg
Those 2 on the left side of Arnos head popped in like a second before I took it. Disappointing
Or it's just how demanding the game is... even the PS4 had some drops in the streams I saw. Nothing big but still noticable...
Fair enough, but I think in-motion it does by far the best job at removing aliasing outside of using SGSSAA/downsampling. There is no other AA solution which comes close in terms of performance to result.I'm sure it does a better job, but it certainly doesn't remove "all" aliasing. Especially not at 1920x1080.

Even on lowest settings I have a hard time keeping stable 60fps in the city. And it doesnt look so different (Low vs Ultra High). Guess that explains the high minimum requirements.

Actually, I'd argue that UE4 temporal SSAA gets a comparable result with a much smaller performance impact.Fair enough, but I think in-motion it does by far the best job at removing aliasing outside of using SGSSAA/downsampling. Pretty much.I really don't mean to sound condenscending, I hope I didn't come across as such (sorry if I did) but as a 10 years old PC gamer it's really strange to see so many PC gamers having such poor (or nonexistant) knowledge of technology, this is, for better or worse, extremely useful when playing on PC.
Just look at posts immediately writing off the port because a 780 could only manage 30fps with 4xTXAA....While that's exactly how it should be.
Here you can see how taxing TXAA/MSAA are. A 780 is nowhere near 60fps on Crysis 3 with this AA, does that mean the game is a cursory PC port ?
Of course not.

Maybe, but I haven't played an UE4 game yet so I can't say!Actually, I'd argue that UE4 temporal SSAA gets a comparable result with a much smaller performance impact.
The fps is way better on rooftops, hey - sometimes (maxed out with FXAA) I even hit 60 for a brief amount of time lol

Have you mentioned what clock speed your 2600K is running at, out of curiosity?

Oh jesus, that sounds like AC 3 all over again haha.

Any more confusion about it being a shit port?
Lo and behold, I built my 1200 dollar beast just a couple months ago. And I already can't ultra a game. Feels bad.
i7 4790k
r9 290
maybe it's need for me to finally overclock

There's loads of difference
Although those blurry faces on max suck, is that txaa?
The game is CPU bound on 6 Jaguar cores and drops below 30 FPS because of it.Any more confusion about it being a shit port?
What's your cpu clocked at? Stock?
I'm not talking about fps drops. I was talking about the npcs randomly changing clothes as you approach them.
Typical gaf, nothing is impressive any more.
The game is CPU bound on 6 Jaguar cores and drops below 30 FPS because of it.
The game is also apparently CPU bound on 4 non-OCd Sandy Bridge i7 cores and drops below 60 FPS because of that, at higher settings.
I don't think that allows for the "shit port" conclusion just yet.
