Quick question from a new GCU member:
For every single new release I buy, does Best Buy always offer $40 back for it if I sell it back used within a couple weeks of release? Or is that only when they do the 50% extra promotion like the one that is going on now? I seem to remember some people basically using this as a rental service.
From my understanding, Best Buy typically gives around $40 trade in for new release titles if you trade within a week or two.
However, I'm also under the assumption that baseline trade ins were lowered due to the 50% more trade in credit.
After the 50% more promotion is over, I think the baseline will go back up.
I could totally be wrong, but I'm basing it off of the info others have mentioned about trade in amounts. I checked the titles that they mentioned, like Evil Within, and it's siting at $27 base trade in, when others said they traded it before the promotion for $40-$44. And Advanced Warfare was also sitting at $27 trade in base credit yesterday. So it seems like they lower trade in values when promotions are going on so as to avoid giving almost the entire price of the game back.
