The God of Atmosphere.
Wow, I think that just may be the more gorgeous screenshot ever.
The God of Atmosphere.
was thinking of waiting a bit with this one but those impressions sound amazing
my main gripe with souls was how random gear aquisition felt, seems to be solved here withe fewer but more meaningful weapons hidden in chests
Heh, that doesn't say anything to me. I only played Demon's Souls for few hours, until the Red Eye Knight. IIRC, I had to face 7-9 enemy waves again after being defeated by him.
I'm terrified that it's gonna be too hard and discourage me
BTW does anyone know why Miyazaki is such a huge fan of Berserk?
So, there's hope, that it won't be as repetitive. Although, there'll be less lantern checkpoints than there were bonfires in Dark Souls, which doesn't sound like a plus to me. I'd really like to know before I buy the game, that how many enemy waves I have to go through again after each time I'm defeated. The needless repetition grew old very quickly for me in Demon's Souls.
I'm concerned about The Phantom Pain. Anyone else feel that Kojima will sell the story to us in DLC fragments?
Because Berserk kicks assBTW does anyone know why Miyazaki is such a huge fan of Berserk?
I'd say the number of enemies before the first shortcut unlock in Bloodborne alpha is ~equal to the number of enemies between the spawn and the Red Eye Knight. Maybe slightly less.
Red Eye Knight is optional by the way and is an end-game enemy.

The God of Atmosphere.
Simply the best game designer in the business. No one comes close.
Sorry Kamiya, still love you, but this dude is ridiculous.
No wonder I couldn't beat him. =) I tried a handful of times, and quitted after getting frustrated with the same enemy waves that preceded the fight.
I guess it's not only about the amount of enemy waves, but the type of enemies and combat, the length of the trip, and traps scattered along the way. I'll just have to see for myself how it's in Bloodborne. Thanks for the info.
BTW, how exactly do you unlock shortcuts in Bloodborne?
If that's enough to make you quit this type of game, you are not going to like Bloodborne. I'm sorry, but I don't know what else to say. I've read all of your questions. It seems that what you are asking is, "Will BB be more forgiving?" It won't be.
You unlock gates.
So what won't I be able to access if I don't have PS+?

Sounds worrying, but I think I'll have to try it myself, or else I'll be just wondering if I would have liked it or not.
did kojima and miyamoto retire?
seriously tho, preload when? I was gonna get a physical copy but nobody doing a midnight launch and I know I won't ever sell this.
You might actually like Dark Souls 2, where if you can just kill the same enemies in an area enough times (usually 10) they will stop respawning.
The Sunday before the Tuesday release
The article specifically mentions Dark Souls 2, which many complained had too many (or poorly placed) bonfires. How far apart they are, or how many shortcuts there are, we really don't know beyond what people played in the Alpha.
At least to me in Dark Souls it felt more like slowly mapping out a large world then Demon's which felt a bit more repetitive because of the stage based design. But yeah... however you slice it you will be battling the same mobs many times.

I highly doubt that. I have no idea why they would.
Yeah, but we don't know how many weapons are there. They found 12, doesn't mean there are only 12 weapons.I'm not onboard with the amount of weapons. You can't really say each weapon counts as two because they have two forms, and even if you did, Demon Souls had more than 16 total weapons... hell, it had more than 16 interesting unique weapons if I am not misremembering.
Any clarification on the 6 weapons line?
Is that weapon classes? Unique weapons? Does EDGE just not know where to look? lol

Good news everyone: On the lower right corner of scan four, Producer Yamagiwa says that there are many more trick weapons than the ones that have been revealed so far! (The exact wording is: 「仕掛け武器は、現在公開している物以外にもたくさん用意してあるので」
Also, he mentions that the attack damage of items like the firebomb increases with your stats, to make them usable beyond the early stages.

Also people who are worried about weapon selection:
In the new Dengeki article Sony Producer Yamagiwa says there are many more trick weapons than the ones theyve revealed so far. Check the Bloodborne reddit for more info.
I hope you can push your way through. These games are masterpieces. If it does click for you, you'll wind up playing all of the Souls games, eventually. It's inevitable. Once you get hooked, it's over. ;-) Just ask questions in the BB threads or look for people to co-op with if you need help. Souls games really aren't that hard once you begin to understand what it is that makes them different.

Fixed that for you. The players death count has no direct link to it. It is based on spawning the enemies by resting at a bonfire. That it also happens when you die is because you get rested after death.
"What is deep inside of a beast? or What it is like to become one?"
It's more likely that Edge... just hasn't really found the weapons. This is promising. I wonder how likely it is that Edge was playing a build that didn't have all the items in the game, which was my initial thought.

I mean, people are quicker to judge that "there are no weapons" as opposed to "the reviewer sucks"
The God of Atmosphere.
Edge found 6(12) right-hand attacking weapons and 6 guns in their 40 hours of play.
and doesn't have access to the chalice dungeon, which may have weapons in it.
Same here, I'm hoping to find a few gafers willing to help me out in case I get stuck lolI'm terrified that it's gonna be too hard and discourage me
