Hey look another weapon?
I wish people wouldn't simplify Dark Souls II's issues to "too easy". I honestly didn't think it was substantially easier than the other two games at all.
Dark Souls II is a really badly designed game made by people that totally missed the point of what made the older ones good, but I wouldn't call it easy.
Here goes the DS2 hate again... This shit will never end.
man i played demons souls and dark souls 2.
i couldnt find great stuff like other people did. if it was that easy to find unique stuff we woulnt need for tutorials on youtube.
most of the time i got the same garbage over and over again.
for example i had to kill this guy
to get his armor.
hey just saying
One thing that cannot be denied: the environments are ugly and an eye sore. I'm currently playing through it now and it's an assault on my eyes.
That he would, the prick. To be fair that guy was a scumbag. He will murder everyone in the nexus when you're gone.

Completely OT, but what did you do to earn that tag? Now I have awful music stuck in my head.
Listen, I was disappointed too, but it's not badly designed. It's definitely one of the best AAA games from last year. Calling it bad is just wrong in my opinion. it falls short of its predecessor's greatness, but that doesn't make it bad.
Some parts are butt: ie Shaded Woods, Tseldora and Harvest Valley. One thing that cannot be denied: the environments are ugly and an eye sore. I'm currently playing through it now and it's an assault on my eyes.

I don't either but DS2 was just more user friendly, and more streamlined,( which seemed like a bad thing for most of gaf for some reason) for me thats one of the reasons its my favorite. I also loved the world better and also PVP was MUUUUCH better (because it worked most of the time) I got over 230 hours in the game and have been thinking about playing through it again before BB.
I don't think its badly designed at all. Miyazaki him self did work on it some, how did it miss the point? If you got a nooby to play either one both would die and insane amount of times, it's a matter if the game clicks with the player or not and DemS didn't for me because dying over and over and over and over again and feeling like I didn't get anywhere for hours because...of cheap deaths which lets be real, Demon Souls and even DS had waay more trail and error deaths than DS2 did.
Like I asked before I would love to know if most of """the B team"""" as everyone on gaf loves to put it really helped with this game I bet most of them did... A select few mostly worked on the DLC for DS2 and the port for PS4/xbone.. after this is out I'm guessing they will start on Ds3.
Here goes the DS2 hate again... This shit will never end.
Miyazaki had nothing to do with 2. Also there is a video showing a chunk of people missing from ds2 credits that worked on ds1 & demon souls. That is where the team b comments come from.
Like I stated a bunch of times before gaf will never forgive for the lighting thing never... which didn't bother at all. I bought it for PC and its one of the best playable PC games Ive played.. with all the time I played it only had 1 crash. That and that the god of all gods Miyazaki didn't make it... the guy only made one good game DS1.. Armored Core lol...

6 weapons?
Only found 6 or so weapons and 6 or so guns in 40 hours
Did not beat the game but they feel like it is less replayable than its predecessors (this does not count the Chalice Dungeon or multiplayer components)
this makes me sad the most :/ seriously..
First 18 Minutes
Skip to 3:50 in that video(Beware it spoils the Hub Area). Youll notice 3 slots above where the weapon stats and scaling are. Im assuming this is what will indicate what kind of upgrade you have on your weapon. Watching a bit further when the player equips the weapons shows those slots filled in with a sort of picture. Possibly indicating what goes where.
I think weapon customization will be a big thing. Especially if we can put 3 different modifiers on 1 weapon.
You'll be surprised on how fast the enemy could get close to youI don't get this. Why guns? No risk-taking, just staying a bit away from the enemy and pressing a button.
I think when Edge said enemy, it means generic one that you can encounter pretty much everyday. NPCs will still drop appropiate equipment when they are killed, assuming you can do it of coursehey just saying

I hope there are still boss weapons. I really liked those weapon designs. As transforming weapons that would be awesome
" You're Not Kingly"I enjoyed DaS2 a lot more when I realized that it's a King's Field game before it's a Souls game.
....huh??
You monster.
Wait what?
Didn't the other games have way more weapons than this? :O
Quelaag's Furysword is goat.
I want to play this so bad, unfortunately I dont do horror games...

I'm hopeful that bosses still drop souls (Or the equivalent) that you can craft weapons with but the guy at Edge didn't know where or how to craft them.I hope there are still boss weapons. I really liked those weapon designs. As transforming weapons that would be awesome
Neither do I, but I sure as hell would attempt to make an exception for this if it's more notably scary. Plus there's a difference between horror meant to terrify, and horror meant to be a flavor or aesthetic, of which the prior Souls games definitely fell under.I want to play this so bad, unfortunately I dont do horror games...
If I have to take a guess, the lesser replayability-ness of the game stems from the fact that Bloodborne is much more of a horror game now. The main draw of horror element is the fear of the unknown, surprised, and the unexpected. From the very same reason, this is what makes Demon's Souls, which coincidentally the most "horror" of Soul games, have much of it greatness can only be experienced first hand in the first playthrough without a guide. The majority of the bosses is puzzle. You shit your pant when seeing the gigantic Tower Knight, wondering how you defeat him. You're surprised by Adjudicator tongue slap from the dark, unseen bottom of the arena and then begin to wonder why your attack don't have any effect. The moment you feel triumph just because you downed Maneater to half of its health, the second one comes in and pretty much scare and make you panic. All of this experience couldn't be repeated in second playthrough (which is why I'm always jealous seeing people playing DeS for the first time). If the Bloodborne truly dedicate itself to horror, of course this kind of experience will be the main attraction and draw of the game, which in turn reduce the game "replayability" so to speak.
I think Miyazaki and the team realize this too, and this is why Chalice Dungeon created in the first place.
Having owned all three previous games and never playing one, im so excited!
This makes me happy, PS4 + Bloodborne +TLOU incoming!
a bullet slinger run actually sounds quite badass. here is why: there is a way you can sacrifice a chunk of your health for 5 bullets. So you can theoretically heal and then sacrifice health for more bullets up until your max of 20 blood vials. It seems like it will turn out to be a very skill intensive way to play, if it is in fact viable.
And repeat, this is very very great
"Gone is the dark fantasy, the faded crumbled majesty of the Souls series. Bloodborne is filthy, grisly, and very, very scary. It's a horror game."
"Bloodborne is Hidetaka Miyazaki's brutal riposte to the section of his playerbase that thinks it has seen it all before"
Hmm, I wonder if there is a boss or two in the Chalice Dungeon, and if they are also randomized.
