This DC film universe train-wreck just will not stop, will it. The problem is, the IPs are so iconic that they've proven they can crap out any piece of trash, and the world-wide box office will turn them a profit, even as word-of-mouth should be burying them.

Hollywood is to ageist for a lot of these picks. Especially in the age of 3+ film contracts and film universes.

I don't know who the first person is, but both Olivia Wilde and Morena Baccarin were in comic book movies this year. Kate Beckinsale has a new Underworld movie out next month and is signed up for another. Wilde and Baccerin are also younger than Zoe Saldana, Rachel McAdams, Marion Cotillard, and Amy Adams, who have all done comic book movies in the last 5 years.
Charlize Theron, Milla Jovovich, Angelina Jolie... these days are probably as good as it's even been for women in their 30s and 40s who want to do action roles. Then there's 53 year old Ming-Na Wen kicking ass and taking names on ABC.
Still have some ways to go though before senior citizen women are having action roles thrown at them like the dusty old geezers Bruce Willis, Sylvester Stallone, Ahnuld, Liam Neeson, etc.
Well... it's worked for studios before.
Not to suggest it was any good...
