He has to be doing stuff like this on purpose at this point. There's no way he's that much of a caricature.

One example would be these shots of Infamous. They're very clear and sharp, which is a massive plus, but everything looks overly glossy, and the textures either look a bit muddy or the "transition" between them is too clear, like the road stripes. In terms of rain shots with puddles, rain drops, and the natural-ness of city textures (if that makes sense), I think GTA V takes it. Obviously they're not as high res with being last gen, but their general design looks nicer and you can't beat good design.

That road is clean too.

Lack of AF in GTA =! Good design
its just his upgrade animation when he levels things .
I'm a little speechless. He's baiting sooooooooo hard, it's ridiculous.Ah, there it is. Like clockwork...

And this is a launch window, open world title from a studio not known for visuals last gen. We're going to see some insane shit over the next few years.

Oh boy, I can smell the 6.5 from that tweet. Also, who in their right mind says a thing like this when you're reviewing a game and how can anyone not take this the wrong way.
Are these from the shipped game, or are we in for another downgradeaton?
If this is coming from a studio with 80 people, at launch, and it being open world.
Imagine Naughty Dog's (linear) games :O

Who in their right mind would say half of the bullshit he says?
Lack of AF is because it already runs like a pig. It gets 30fps on a good day so you have to make a sacrifice somewhere. Just because the distance they go low-res at is short doesn't mean they're badly designed, and a lot of current gen games even lack AF, like Forza.

Thank god, I told myself I wouldn't look at anything but I couldn't resist. Thank you for clearing up my fears that I had spoiled something for myself, no more threads for me.
You claim that GTA's roads are blurred because of great design is actually because it lacks any AF
from the shipped game.
unless there's framerate issues, no downgrade to be seen.
I like the way they handled the split between the old fictional locations and now Actual Seattle; of course, the fictional coast has been obliterated. No fuss, no continuity muss.

I dare you to back this up with actual captures from GTAV.
I wasn't saying they're blurred, I was saying the way the road stripes are painted on is more natural. On GTA they look like they were actually painted on, on the screenshots of Infamous I saw it looks like they're just a yellow strip drawn over the texture without any proper "burning in" look to it.
As I said:
"or the "transition" between them is too clear". I wasn't saying the textures being clear is bad, I was saying the difference between two things is jarring and not as natural as GTA's texture work.
Moar.
Obviously Infamous is way sharper with being native 1080p, but I honestly think its visuals are beaten out by GTA 5.
Dof? Please enlighten.love the dof
can't wait for this game ^_^
Sounds like he's going more by art style, since he clearly acknowledges the resolution/clarity difference.this... cant. be. real.
i'm hallucinating right guys? Right!?
I'm just going to link these because obviously this isn't a GTA thread.
Not really any point in posting them anyway with it being a matter of opinion, and everyone seems to prefer Infamous.

(Low res because the in-game screen capture resolution is very meh)
You can see that the way the colours and lighting drastically change with the weather and time matches that of Infamous, and *in my opinion*, even just basing it off of screenshots, it is a much better "capture" of how a real city looks.
It's all just a matter of opinion but at least some of you should see what I'm basing my own off of.

i am not reviewing infamous second son. i'm playing it because i want to. since, you know, i've said repeatedly it was my other fav e3 game.
Oh gosh. I can't handle this much hype and beauty...Can't stop.
Really is a gorgeous game. Some of my shots:
Yeah...I disagree. GTA5 looks good for last gen, but artistically and technically Infamous beats it by a country mile. No contest.I'm just going to link these because obviously this isn't a GTA thread.

Depth of Field. Its where shit in the background looks blurry and out of focus like in some photographs, basically.Dof? Please enlighten.
Gies is reviewing Infamous? Ahahahaha. I can see that 6.0 score from him a mile away.

Again, i will let the gameplay do the talking...i wish people would stop acting like graphics is the end all be all of video games ...how is the graphics the selling point? are you just going to pop the game in and stare at it?
