"Dont be a movie! If it's a movie i'm gonna be so pissed!"
This is just laughable. Jeff wasn't cynical at all for example in the SFV video they put up.
It was an announcement for a kickstarter for a video game. I watched my daughter being born and had more composure than that. Ha
Presumably you equate a lack of emotion with professionalism?
That's embarrassing.
Good lord. Act like professionals, or at the very least, grown men.
Sometimes grown men cry over video games.
Sometimes they stand on chairs.
Deal with it.

Brad's reaction to FFVII remake was 'ugh, fucking boring and predictable'.
That woman didn't even know what was going on. In the end she was joining in but her expression was like "wtf". She was reacting more to the guys reaction than the actual announcement.
I don't know why but the majority of women in gaming are almost like "token equal opportunities" that have no interest at all. Yes I appreciate I can't generalise, but I've noticed some gaming sites tend to put attractive women to attract lonely geeks.
Really fake reaction from her. No clue who she is though.

Don't get yourself banned on such a joyous day... just give that post a little edit with an apology.
Did the Giant Bomb guys have any good reactions? Was Jeff's oppressive negativity get broken for but a moment?
Even if you're not a fan of the game there's nothing wrong with feeling joy at someone's intense passion over something. I get that same enjoyment seeing my niece freak out over a Christmas present or NASA going bananas over a completed mission. I don't get your professionalism argument.

"What are you doing!? You maniacs!!!"

No fun allowed I suppose.No. You can be enthusiastic, but jumping around like a bunch of dorks over a kickstarter is not gonna make me take you seriously. That's just my opinion.

I agree. I got excited for the Shenmue 3 announcement and FF VII Remake, but I wasn't screaming, jumping, or running around like they were. I usually find those kinds of reactions very annoying, but I'm in the minority I guess.
Depends on the situation. In your first example, you are speaking about a small child. In the second, it's people that are truly achieving something monumental. This was a kickstarter to a videogame. Just seemed goofy to me.

This isn't what the OP asked. But, it will never stop being funny. Ever.
Yea that's cool if you find it goofy. I guess what I'm saying is whether it's a tiny thing like a Christmas present or a huge deal with NASA, people are passionate about things that we don't all understand. The point is I think it's ok that professionalism goes out the window for a moment someone is so passionate about. I'm glad for them regardless.
I may need to start keeping up with this crew. They got a podcast?
Salt Lake City theater showing. Reaction to FF.

I like at 21 seconds someone says "this is ridiculous"
Just because the guys at Giant Bomb aren't hopping on their seats over every little game doesn't make them "killjoys".
