Launch day is going to be chaos, if it took over 1 hours to update with minimal users imagine millions trying to update.
Five American Gigabytes.
Is there any reason why they couldn't ship the console with the complete OS? I mean, really?
Nice lolSony is in charge of Wii U updates?
Probably are installing a lot of behind the scenes OS functions

This hardware release had to be a pre-Black Friday rush priority. A multi-GB release day update is just asking for trouble. Is there any reason why they couldn't ship the console with the complete OS? I mean, really?
Anyway, I'm fucking pissed off.
5gb? On my connection, thatd take at least 14 hours. Looks like I will be playing offline until the the end of the first day, and then just leave it downloading overnight.
What the fuck, Nintendo. You are fucking this up badly.
You still get left with just 3gb spare on an 8gb model.
5GB? I guess it redownloads the OS completely and it is not simply a patch?
Quoting this because people are probably going to ignore itRich from IGN said on twitter that he had the same amount of HD space after the update as his did prior so the data more than likely delete itself afterward. I guess this explains why the update took so long though lol
You guys can use external hard drives though right?
Take that shit to someone's house or something. You don't need a tv, just a power source. I would do it.
That's no patch... it's a Space Station!
It disables while updating.DON'T FORGET TO DISABLE THE AUTO 90 MINUTE SHUTDOWN FEATURE
Amazingly, not until after you install this firmware update.
Nintendo reaaaaaaaaaally should have pushed this to be on the game discs for the launch.
5000 US MEGABYTES
WTF are Nintendo doing? The Xbox 360 has a ton more features and its OS can't be much bigger than 100 MB.
