He didn't even really defend Zimmerman. He called him a sorry piece of shit, and said but it was probably technically legal. Zimmerman wasn't convicted and has proven himself to indeed be a piece of shit.

I think this is shitty. The dude became a minor lighthearted internet meme for a few days because he was kinda funny lookin', he played it off like an absolute champ, and the internet detectives had to go and make sure any dirty laundry they could find on him was aired to the public.

Ken Bone's opinion is entirely based on what he saw/read. If that didn't add up to what the majority sees as correct, that's shitty, but it doesn't make him an awful person.

Thank goodness we're not him or his family. It's unfortunate none of the people piling on make it that far in their thought process.
Seems pretty clear cut to me that it's not beyond a reasonable doubt that it wasn't self defence, which is what the jury had to decide on.
Is it self defence to physically attack someone who is following you around in an unpleasant, menacing and potentially provoking manner? No.
Is it self defence to shoot someone who is on top of you pounding your head with their fists, which has the very real potential to kill you within moments? Yes, regardless of how that situation came about.
Were the jury racist? Probably, considering some of the comments we heard from them afterwards, but they still came to the right conclusion in my opinion. Broken clock and so.
Now if you disagree vehemently with me, fine, great, but it would seem a bit over the top to use this to proclaim I'm some awful nasty person with racist Trumpy tendencies.

I was initially pretty incensed about his opinion on Zimmerman, but having taken a step back and approached this situation as objectively as possible it's hard to find much reason to vilify Bone. That he can't make up his mind between Trump and Clinton is deeply aggravating for me personally, but he appears to be a fairly descent dude otherwise.
I didn't take it as a defense at all. He said he's a bad guy. I think he was pointing out how stupid the law was. I think it was misapplied but plenty of reasonable people feel the way he does. Shitty broadly worded law certainly didn't help when it came to putting that monster in jail.

He's not "secretly a creep weirdo." He handled all this stuff about his post history with good humor. Furthermore, the rest of his post history shows him to be a thoughtful, reasonable human being.
He's also no longer undecided and frankly sounds like he never truly was. He doesn't want to share his vote but if you read his answers to questions it's pretty obvious that he isn't voting for Trump.
This thread really needs a title change.
