New Halo 5 Coverage! (expect spoilers)

Yeaah, because that turned out well with Campaign scoring in H4
...

:x

Because SPNKr needs to return to Arena MM. Also, that BR with the more traditional scope.
Isn't that "more traditional scope" just the DMR's? The scope's magnification would be greater than usual for the BR.

Oh yeah, forgot about that. The aim-assist in Destiny is too high, indeed. Halo 5 on the other hand, has the lowest aim-assist since Halo CE, which is awesome (it's one of the things I liked the most when I played the beta)
Took me way too long to get used to that lower aim-assist. Halo 2-4's been coddling me too much. :(

RS for zoom is THE WAY to go... The right stick should be dedicated to all things aiming. Total control over your reticle in one place.

COD moved zoom to LT , and the industry followed... But it make no sense to me to have to hold two triggers in to fire a single gun...

Yeah, you're right. I think i wrecked myself utilizing B for zoom in halo 2 and after. LOL

DR GREEN THUMB!!!! Lolz

:( im going to suck so bad in MP on oct 27th. Even though i did alright in the beta ;) ;) .. mmmmmm *flashbacks

Once again, there is a difference.

Since the weapon zooms but the reticle stays the same size, this means the reticle is covering a smaller area than it does in hipfire. So there is a difference, but I think it's pretty much the same difference as weapons that had scopes in previous Halos (now they all have scopes though).

Edit: I noticed the reticle size actually shrinks, woops. So yea, it makes more of a difference than I thought.

On top of that, it has the potential to change peoples movement and aiming patterns - while it isn't their intent, I still think it may slow movement down whilst people aim just by instinct.

Time will tell, I'm certainly curious about how it will all pan out.

Oh, is it?

I am sure there is a way to use that scope aesthetic with the proper zoom though. I just really didn't not enjoy zooming with the BR in the beta.

Last I checked, that was only in the beta. Smart-scope in the final game only affects aiming speed, not accuracy or recoil. 343i intended for it to be cosmetic on most weapons (guns that didn't traditionally have scopes, like the AR and shotty), but it seems some folks there wanted it to affect bullet spread and such in the beta. A large chunk of the community didn't like this, and by the time of the Gamescom build, the game was back to standard spread and accuracy in smart-scope on most weapons.

lol holy crap you've got some work to do... Plenty of time to play MCC. Then H5 campaign, then Warzone... You'll be ready in no time

I guess we'll have to test it when the game comes out to see. If that is the case though, I'll be using smart scope much less.

Tiny bit of motion capture, but mostly music.

Well I love the music, though how long do they want to withhold game features like forge& file sharing..

I mean 26th october for the next episodes? One day before the game launches? The game will be leaked by then :/

Not even leaked. A lot of retailers, especially in europe will ship the game on October 23.

And if people dont want to see spoilers, just dont watch it?

Pretty sure the Forge delay announcement reveal is separate from the Sprint episodes.

"We're not talking about file sharing"

Your game comes out in 22 days.

I'm really excited for the game and it's not like the very first thing I want to do in it is start using file share, but it's pretty strange that they are holding their cards this close to their chest when the game is so close to release.

Didn't Halo 3's 4 player co-op get announced the week before the game came out?

You cant really compare that.

That 4 player coop was a surprise, nobody though it would happen. Things like Filesharing and Theater were already working just fine in the Halo 3 Beta. (What a awesome experience btw that beta)

Perhaps it's because they're saving some revolutionary Forge reveal to give one last hype bump before launch and explaining the file sharing process could give it away? Just optimistic speculation.

Halo 3's filesharing was just incredible.

Man, you had cool clips, game types and maps.

Until, users managed to exploit it, and use it to show actual photographs, mostly porn.

Once that was taken, all we had left was weapon hentai.

RIP H3 fileshare.

Who knew this would foreshadow the same death of HaloGAF

Man I remember stumbling on the first porn pic through Halo 3 and I was so confused how it got in the game

Hedging my bets that we will all have an answer to your issue sometime tomorrow morning here in the states..

Yeah like Jumper said, a brand new surprise feature is not wrong to hold back.. not talking about core features since Halo 3 and how they improved... well is awkward.
Remember when Campaign had theater
Good Ole times

How's theater for Halo 5 looking anyway?

I know they're not the same, but I think the DVR feature of these new consoles has put stuff like that on the backburner.

Though, I guess it has to be there in some capacity since "spectate" seemed to use the same tech?

Are you thinking they're gonna talk Halo 5 at the Microsoft hardware event tomorrow?

I believe that both forge and file sharing will be discussed tomorrow, as an example of the more open ecosystem Microsoft is shooting for.

More specifically, I think they will show how forge and file sharing can be worked on outside of just the xbox as an example of "universal" applications.

However, this is all educated guesswork.
Just seems like the most logical reason neither forge nor file sharing has made an appearance.

So don't put your hopes into this like I am, lol.

My bet is :
- Windows 10 stats
- Surface 4
- Windows Mobile RTM release date and new flagship models
- TH2
- Xbox One Windows 10 and maybe a bit of Hololens? Maybe they will show Forge on that segment? Who knows.

Fancy giving the jist, for those of us currently video-impaired?

Theater is back and better because they can run your game instance on a dedicated server, which also allows for spectator mode.

What is TH2?

Awesome, thanks. Sounds interesting - not entirely sure it's necessary, though.

The first big update to Win10, I believe.

There using servers and they said that your basically streaming the game live and people can watch you play through the game, you then do something really cool and they can rewind it - replay it a couple of times and then fast forward up to where your still playing the game.

If it was negative news it would make more sense to announce it farther out from launch. That would give people who choose to be upset time to calm down. It would hopefully reduce the overreaction as well. They've done nothing but great things so far with this game and don't deserve the negativity at this point. Maybe they want one more exciting reveal before release.

I see no reason to be worried about the functionality in theatre mode... They demoed the spectator mode, which is essentially a matches theatre data being made available on a server for anyone to access in realtime, and it looks spectacular.

I cannot wait for Grifball in Halo 5. It will be really interesting to see which of the abilities are chosen to be usable while you're Grif. I would assume thrusters will be allowed and sprint will be disabled, but will you be able to Spartan Charge with the ball? Could be interesting.
