PES series - "The Return of the King"

Vol5

Played around 10 games. Hated all the PS3 iterations either because they played bad and / or looked awful. This demo though...This is the real deal. Much more fluid and fun. Some of the player likenesses are spitting images for the real players. 1080p/60fps as well. I can say with some confidence it looks better than FIFA15 (PS4 player here). There's still some issues that remain, most notably ball watching but you know, there's still a few months to polish and tweak. It's by no means a show stopper.

I'll be asking my friends to give this a shot as soon as it arrives on EU PSN.

I can't tell you how much of a PES/ISS fanboy I was. Even ISS2000 on the n64 (played right through the hilarious RPG style be-a-player mode). Really want this to be the come back game.

Hehe it would be fun if they got some of the old career ideas back into the game. Loved the fact that you started in lower leagues and had to work your way up.

Freakin Buffon was not gonna have it. Dominated but walked away with a draw.

Having played some more matches with full manual control and played around with the skills and tactics - dare I say Pro Evolution Soccer 2015 is the best football game since Winning Eleven 10? Of course only based on this demo, and not the full version.

The tactics can actually be seen and felt on the pitch. And if you play around with your offensive tactics, it can create openings with well placed passes. It's a good idea to create 3 custom formation for kick off, off the ball and when your in possession - totally improves your game.

Even skills are great, as they are generally harder to pull off than in FIFA. At least a little bit harder but when you succeed it feels rewarding. When you get past a defender with just a body feint it's huge. Unfortunately the rainbow flick can be pulled off by many if not all players and is easy to do but that's the only "negative" in regard to the skill system so far.

I also noticed, when I passed the ball between my defender, my goalkeeper were clapping intensely with his hands and trying to put some confidence into my lads.

This demo is fantastic so far. I don't deny it has some problems and details which can be improved upon, but to me, this is the best PES game since Winning Eleven 10.

Full manual is definitely the way forward, passes like this didn't feel possible using assisted controls https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4se0cfcaL-I

Also couldn't agree more about the tactics. One game I was getting frustrated by Athletic Madrid just passing it along there back four, so I changed the defensive style to front-line pressure and voila, they were forced to play the ball forwards instead of sideways.

Jesus, i love how winning even 1-0 feels like a real challenge in this game. I don't think i've jumped from the coach and screamed a goal since WE8 on the PS2.: https://mediacru.sh/FewVJOz763_d

Very nice my friend !

Great post and agree with everything only for me personally it is Winning Eleven 9, but there ain't much in it. ;-)

I'm not huge fan of skills in games unless it is relative to the player using them, Feints are cool as loads of players use this to beat a man. Last thing I want to see is Mertesacker doing a rainbow flick in my game.

My philosophy would be if you don't see it once in 30 top flight games of Football it shouldn't be in the game and keep it for FIFA Street and I can't recall the last time I saw a rainbow flick in a real match.

I've also never understood those FIFA montages on YouTube were the guy does trick after trick all the way up the pitch and scores - looks ridiculous and unrealistic, would much rather he used his skills to score a great team goal using fjull manual or something like that.

Getting back to Konami/PES, I agree with your assessment of this demo and just hope they don't mess too much with it for the full game. I can remember PES 2013 Demo 1 had a great reception and had a feel and weight to it that was then missing and altered for Demo 2 and the full final release, a lot of people never felt the same about that game after that and still felt Demo 1 had the best gameplay.

Let's hope we don't see a repeat of that this time.

I am in love with this demo.

Concerning manual low shot, il you have shooting type set ad ADVANCED you can low shot with analogue opposite to the goal when you shoot, if you are playing with shooting type as MANUAL there is no way to perform a low shot, sadly.

Yeah I found out when I shot the ball all the way back toward my end of the field heh.

I know that the licenses EA has with Bundesliga basically prevents PES from having a german league, but what about the players? For example do Bundesliga players such as Reus and Kagawa show up in a fake non-german league somewhere else in the game?

No. Those players are not integrated in any club. They are on the free players/without club list. You can build the clubs by yourself and transfer all the players into that team. The licencing for those teams is made with FIFPro and the national associations of the countries. Thats why 2 or 3 German teams are fully licenced in the game. Those players appear in their international teams for example. It's a very shitty situation, because the FIFA licence is an exclusive one just like DFL (Bundesliga).

Guys, how are you changing the pass settings and whatnot? I couldn't find anything.

Much obliged!

Pause, go to select sides, then I think it's triangle. But either way, there's a button prompt at the bottom of that screen to change personal settings.

100% agree. The tactics feel like they will play a major part of the gameplay now.
Konami seems to have incorporated something I've been asking for the past 3 games, which is letting the user set different formation based on possession and dispossession.

The way they have streamlined the harder to understand playstyle options is also a plus. I am simply amazed at the way players initiate off the ball movement based on the attack style set in the tactics menu. They finally make the runs in a realistic manner, which allows you to set up plays just like a real life match.

That is, in fact, the new feature MyClub that is exactly like the EA´s FUT.

This is the rumored ML info:
Master League Information

All contracts you sign with a club are restricted to 1 year in length.This makes the end of the season a very busy time, as you must decide which club team you would like to manage next season.If you have earned the trust and respect of your team (Team's trust level), then you will be offered an extension.At the same time, you may receive offers from other clubs.Take a look at your offer list to see who's interested in your services.Alternatively, you can hand in a transfer request and look for pastures anew. However, please note that this option only applies to teams who have managerial vacancies at the time.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
The "Team's Trust Level" indicates the level of trust between you and the players.If this were to drop below a certain level, you will not be offered a renewal at the end of the season.The trust level fluctuates based on the team's fortunes on the pitch and the amount it changes each time depends on the strength of the opposition.So, by this rule, the easiest way to earn your team's trust is to beat big clubs.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

In Master League, a manager's job isn't all about club management.Managers yearn for the opportunity to lead their nation to great success.Such an opportunity may come calling for you too.The more experience you gain in club management, the bigger the chance you will have of receiving such an honour.The job of managing the national team is a part-time one and you will continue in your present role at the club even if you were to accept such an offer.As national team manager, you will be tasked with guiding the team to success in international competitions as well as naming the squads for the qualifiers and friendlies in preparation.Your performances at both club and international level will ultimately dictate who you will get to manage.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
If you are not sure who to sign, a scout can help in shortlisting potential targets.All you have to do is to let him know the type of players you want by selecting [Negotiations] → [Sign] → [Scouting Instructions]To see which players the scout has shortlisted, select [Negotiations] → [Sign] → [Scouting Report] in order The list will be updated every two weeks.Players from the list tend to be more readily available and therefore are easier to sign.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
When players near the end of their contracts, it's time to start renewing their deals.Negotiations over contract renewals start when players come to you with their desired terms.If you find the terms acceptable, then a new deal can be agreed. If not, you can reject the player's requests and let him know what you are willing to offer.Or, you may choose not to renew the contract if you feel that the player is surplus to requirement.Players who feel little loyalty towards the club can often put their renewal talks on hold.Convincing such players to stay can turn out be far more costly compared to players who are happy to remain at the club.Should they choose to leave, they are entitled to free transfers, meaning you will receive nothing even if they were to sign with other clubs.

Regardless of whether you are negotiating contract renewals or a transfer, it's always best to offer terms that will satisfy the player.Try adjusting the terms & conditions so that his Satisfaction Level is indicated by ?? or ??.If it still remains at ??,?? or ?? , you will have to improve your offer.In a player's contract, there are many adjustable options and clauses. These include:

<Team Negotiations: Player Trades>
When trying to sign a player, you can use players from your team as makeweights in a trade deal.In such cases, try to put forward players who can play in positions which the other team is looking to strengthen. This would then give you more leverage in any potential deal.

<Team Negotiations: Option-to-buy>
This is an option only available in loan deals.Including this option allows players to be bought or sold during their loan spells.

<Player Negotiations: Appearance Bonus>
Players who have this clause written into their contracts are entitled to 1％ of their annual salaries for each appearance made.This is an option which can make it easier for you to negotiate with players who feature regularly for their teams.

<Player Negotiations: Goal Bonus>
Players who have this clause written into their contracts are entitled to 1％ of his annual salaries for every goal scored.This is an option which can make it easier for you to negotiate with attacking players who feature regularly for their teams.

<Player Negotiations: Release Clause>
Players who have this clause written into their contracts can force a move if an offer comes from a team with a higher club ranking.This is an option which can make it easier for you to negotiate with highly rated and ambitious players who are looking to eventually play for a big club.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Have a look to see where the club's money goes.Details on potential income sources will be covered next.

<Market Value>
The market value will form the basis of a player's true financial worth.This value can fluctuate based on 2 factors: the player's individual achievements and those achieved by his club.The player's transfer fee will also be set in accordance to the market value.

<Annual Salary>
The annual salary like its name suggests refer to the yearly wage players are paid by their clubs.It is the one expenditure that has to be paid at regular yearly intervals.Whenever you are thinking about bringing in new players, make sure that you check the club's current wage bill as well as the overall state of their finances.

<Severance Payment>
On releasing a player who he is still contracted to your club, you will be obliged to pay him what is known as a severance payment.This amount will be worked out based on the player's annual salary.

<Bankruptcy>
The club will be declared bankrupt if you are unable to cover the player's wage bills come the beginning of the season.While bankruptcy won't result in the dissolution of your team, you will be subject to a transfer embargo until the debts are paid off.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

The club can raise funds from the following sources.

<Gate Receipts & Prize Money>
Gate receipts and prize money are what forms the main bulk of the club's revenue. Note, gate receipts can only be earned in home matches.Prize money will be awarded in accordance to the club's performances in both league and cup.

<Sponsors & Fan clubs>
Sponsorship fees and fan club subscriptions are paid at the beginning of the season.The expected revenue from these sources will be disclosed towards the end of each season, which affords you the time to plan ahead and look for potential reinforcements.Needless to say, the better you perform, the more revenue you will generate.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Player development isn't restricted to just matchday as they are put through their paces in everyday training. The team's training regime can be set by allocating focus points in [Player Menu] → [Training]. Allocating more points to certain aspects of training will lead to quicker increases of related player stats.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Being given constant playing time as well as being a member of a team which achieves constant success are the 2 ways in which player loyalty increases.Players with little affection for the club are bound to leave the club eventually. Managing egos and keeping everyone happy is another important aspect of football management.

Why does he wear the mask!?
Yes, i am much more excited about that new mode than ML. I just hope the AI is not a fucking boosts robbery like in FUT when we play against them.

can you play against the ai in myclub though? thought you could not

YES! :)

<VS COM>
Play against clubs created by other online users which are controlled by the COM.
You will play a series of 6 matches and if you earn more than 10 points, your level increases. The higher your level, the stronger the teams you will face.
The 6 matches will comprise of 3 home games and 3 away games.

Yeah I think it's called 'fluid formations', it's something I don't even think Football Manager has at the moment. Yeah the play styles and the off the ball ai have taken the realism to a different level, this and player ID have made me fall in love with the game.

The improved tactics should also make Master League more interesting. I'm looking forward to going away to Arsenal and Barcelona and pressing the hell out of them lol

So, which regular Fifa (ex Pro Players) players will give Pro a chance this time?

I might, depends on whether the graphics on the Xbox version are improved and option files are allowed. I'm currently leaning towards yes though, as I can get it for cheap via the HK store. I'm definitely not buying FIFA this year.

Just got done trying the HK demo. Very impressed. The FIFA demo didn't do it for me personally but then I'm a PES diehard who begrudgingly plays FIFA. Is shaping up nicely.
