Coming from AW at the time, it felt very similar to me. A very familiar feel and it clicked right away. I was playing with an AW mindset and being successful with it. For me I prefered the 4 MP. Still if I have to rate them, 2>3=Reach>4>5.
Remove it. Sprinting and ADS brought no CoD viewers and games like Battlefront, Doom and Overwatch showed you can dominate without having to give ads guns or sprint. Make base speed faster, remove spartan charge and sprint, keep clamber and thrust and slide, maybe get rid of ground pound, remove the useless ADS sights and we gucci. Look how much better the magnum or even tactical magnum aiming looks compared to the base pistol with it's image blocking holographic overlay. I try and use H2 BR or classic BR whenever possible. That's just me though.
Thrust + crouchHow would you slide without sprint tho
As much as I'd like a traditional style Halo along the lines of 3 or Reach, but 343 has their own vision for the series and they're really far down that path. I doubt they'll drop the various new Spartan abilities.
Thrust + crouch
Halo 5 movement, gunplay, and abilities were all perfect. I don't want to hear otherwise from anyone who barely played.
Oh god, please, no. Not in Halo.Halo 6 will have wall running. Quote me in a year.
I don't understand what you mean lol, explain?Without the distance you slide being incredibly broken, there's no way sliding would be anything more than cosmetic.
Radar isn't necessary for casual play either imo. It's too bad how dependent some Halo fans have become on those little red dots.My bigger concerns are clamber and motion tracker. Neither one of them are necessary, and neither add to competitive gameplay. Take'em out.
.Halo 5's movement is divine. Best in the series for sure. Keep it.
"The gunplay is great but the maps suck."
What if the maps suck because the gunplay puts awkward constraints on map design?
Halo 4 was especially terrible about this. Not just because of sprint; the extreme ease of wrecking stuff even at long range with the spawn weapons ("that feel so good to use!") meant that non-messy line-of-sight design would tend to cause map movement to bog down (see: Ragnarok).
Halo 5's sprint is "good" insofar as it doesn't blatantly break moment-to-moment gun battles like it did in the last game, but it still seems like it's having problematic effects on map design (i.e. movement scale is awkwardly large for gunplay scale) with no obvious actual benefit. It probably won't be removed, but I think it should be.
(I also think Halo just plain feels better without it. Always felt more actively engaged IMO; positioning was more committal, and the ability to look and shoot while moving around meant that you were able to constantly participate in recon and whatnot.)
Doom is also designed much differently, and its movement model is based more around its AI enemy and spaces vs Halo 5's multiplayer and MP maps.
Honestly don't understand comments like these.
Loadouts in Halo?
Leave the gameplay mechanics from Halo 5 untouched. It should be the standard moving forward.
AW mindset, More of a run in and shoot em up mindset?
That wouldn't be successful in high onyx play.
I can run around like a chicken with my head cut off when i'm playing people less skilled than me. but it's still very much halo and will punish people who {can't shoot, and who don't work together.}
I think the proper question is, "Can we have fewer warden fights in Halo 6?"
Also, auto sprint option like Titanfall 2.

That's the thing, I could never get that far even if I played a traditional Halo style, because everyone would leave when shit hit the fan. Maybe I'd enjoy it more running with a team but the only person I know who plays Halo still plays it exclusively for eSports for his team so doesn't have time for hours of pubs
It's more Halo than the last two Halos.the problem with sprint is it causes maps to become bigger therefore you find yourself having to sprint to move around and of course u cant sprint and gun which means the classic halo formula is gone.
h5 is fun for what it is but it isnt really halo. the maps are crap, sprint should be removed and smaller maps should return, best comprise would be as the user above says to disable it in certain playlists and design maps for that
Next Halo should be a great game. It doesn't matter in the slightest if there will be sprinting or not.
They solved just about all of Halo 4's problems, so really the only way to maintain that position is to flat out ignore the many specific flaws they addressed in every important area.
Isn't that what fans said after Halo Reach ?
Isn't that what fans said after Halo 4?
Isn't that what fans said after MCC?
Don't keep your hopes up, 343 will always find something to fuck up.

Nice gif though.
