that's kinda cute. yeah i wonder how people who bought playstations felt right before the slim ones came out.All this reminds me of when my wife (then-girlfriend) bought me a PSP a month before the PSP Slim was announced, the latter having double the memory to help combat famously bad load times thanks to the UMD drive and TV output. Both were features I seriously wanted from the PSP. Never did get another PSP, still have that model. It's still a pretty good system, had a lot of fun with it.
that's why consoles have been great for nothing having that approach, and yes we have been lucky up until now for things to have been that way.Ya I get that but honestly in the world of consumer electronics we should probably consider ourselves lucky consoles have actually been a bit behind the times. You buy a stereo, TV, PC, Blu-ray, and they all get updated yearly .
Best is to make a budget and decide what's best for you . Some people buy a new TV every other year. I'm the guy that buys their TV lol
This isn't the first time we've argued about it and if it feels like a chore you don't have to do it. If you haven't been able to change my mind all this time I don't think you will be able to now.One last time, and I will try and keep this short.
No, I do purchase the best that comes out - it's why I upgraded from Ps3 to 4. I'd rather the industry simply not move in this direction. That's what this is.Your issue, is that you want the best of said ecosystem, but do not want to purchase the best if it happens to come out. So you would rather have it not come out, so you are not faced with your own personal plight.
as I explained to you, it is a juxtaposition because i want the best playstation hardware; I thought i was getting it when I bought the Ps4 but I didn't know there was gonna be a better Ps4 a few years down the road. I just don't like this direction. I'm not projecting anything to anyone, my opinion shouldn't matter to others that much. Some who do want it, and will purchase it, take issue with that thinking, because that is something personal that should not project on others who do. Truthfully, if you do not want to buy something, then don't, while working on the 'best of the best' emotions from within.
and again, where do you see me doing that? again you're accusing me of this when in terms any and everyone else i've been saying that if you're looking forward to it then more power to youThat is all I am getting at. Do not penalize other's enjoyment,
if generations are so antiquated then why are the consoles so successful? i've seen teh argument of developers and platform makers not wanting those risks but those risks being dispelled when they saw how successful the consoles are now. there's nothing fail to understand about hard resets. that's what this industry does. and every generation of them have sold hundreds of millions of consoles.and come up with antiquated generation reasons, failing to understand 'hard resets' and why most developers/platform makers no longer want those risks, all because you want what you have now, to be the 'best [see: only] option'.
you kinda did. i quoted you several posts back of you accusing me of being selfish but you never responded.I did nothin to trigger anything in you.
that's my perspective, yeah, but what exactly are you trying to do here? the arguments you're giving me isn't making me change my mind, it's showing me that you lack empathy. if you want the industry to go this way, then that's fine and you should be happy. don't mistake my discontent as an attempt to rain on the parade of those who are excited. This is you projecting personal feelings which you have admitted to in this very thread as to why you do not want it, and trying to back those feelings with old gen patterns in why it should not come to be, is it not?
but don't be inconsiderate and condescending to those who aren't happy about the direction the industry is going. as you can see, that doesn't turn out well.
