Ultra Street Fighter IV on PS4 is much, much better now. Bless.

So get the developers who botched it to try and fix it?

Even Konami had enough sense to do the patch for ZoE2 themselves. Sony/Capcom, what the fuck are you doing...OO clearly will never be able to fix this mess if they thought it was sufficient to be released in its current form.

I honestly never thought I'd see the day where a developer who rivals High Voltage for sheer incompetence would appear...

Shh Miles. Don't you remember the last time you had that thread about HVS. You can't bad mouth developers who are low bid contractors that put out poorly done products for as cheap as possible.

I agree with your complaints here and against HVS. I just find it funny still how you got called out because it was about SR4 and now that it happened with MKX and SF4 its less frowned upon.

Surely this one quick patch two days after release will fix everything that somehow was never found before launch. Like MKX on PC or BL2 on Vita. Capcom and Evo were too quick on pulling SF4 PS4 from the tournaments with the crack team at Other Ocean being retained to fix the mess they delivered. Should have waited.

Will be interesting to see what this patch fixes though I'm not keeping my hopes up. As I said before, I'll only buy the game when it works perfectly on PS4.

Also, Capcom should have been involved on some level in certifying and testing this game. I mean it took the community a couple of hours to spot that this game was broken. Why didn't they send out pre-release code to select members of the FGC to test before hand? Instead we got Playstation MVPs who didn't know much about Street Fighter streaming arcade mode days before release.

I was thinking the same thing.

There are fighting game events occurring all of the time. They could have taken the game to one or two of the events a few weeks before release, to show it off and also to gather feedback. If experienced players were able to go hands-on with pre-release code, they could've identified these problems. This would have given the developers a chance to fix up the product ahead of release.

Actually, they gave it to HexaDrive to re-port it with database fixes. This is something Sony should be doing. Give to a port specialist. They really fucked up here, especially if they can't get it to an acceptable standard for the FGC at EVO.

Couldn't they have taken it to Combo Breaker?

Yay, My new PS4 stick finally arrived!!!
Planning to pick up the port this weekend! I love Street Fighter IV (tho I'm terrible haha) and have been waiting to rotate it with Bloodborne on my PS4!

Hope they iron out any kinks for the sake of my hardcore competitive friends out there :)

See you online! :D

While the developer certainly doesn't have a worthy track record and the quality of the port is inexcusable, I do wonder how much of the game's condition is due to them being forced to rush the port to make EVO. Maybe they knew it was in terrible shape and needed more time, but Sony basically said "nah son, looks like Street Fighter to me"

Whatever. Hopefully it'll be fixed eventually and brought up to acceptable home standards (if never tournament ready)

Don't.

It's not only competitive play that's fucked, its the entire game

Wow, I hadn't tried the online in this yet.

God, it's wretched.
Are you using wireless? I've had all green bar matches, only had internet lag once.

Disapointing news :/
I think one of my friends picked it up yesterday. I'll probly give him a call, see how its treating him.. I have been pretty excited lol :/
Get it. If you're not super competitive it works perfectly fine. Only had one glitch so far. Unless the menus being slow would ruin it for you lol

personally i've had zero glitches. menu lag is apparent but not a big deal imo. what is a killer for me is the input delay playing with the pad. sticks are worse apparently.

I'm not understanding this mentality of "get it if you're not competitive" jazz.
The more money they make on this broken ass port = more porting jobs they will get = more shitty ports.

It's one thing to buy it day one blind and another to buy it knowing it's no bueno. Don't purchase this crap until its fixed.

If you want to play Usf4 for cheap and have no other option it's a good deal

That's just it. I'm getting green bars (which become a more honest yellow after a few matches), all within Europe where I'm based, 8mb, NAT 2 connection, ethernet-connected, with no other downloads in effect.

Still tons of slowdown, pauses and 'Waiting for other players' prompts while consoles communicate with each other.

It's playable, but nowhere near as solid an experience as playing online via PS3.

Just do that Sony. Just fucking do it.

My laptop can't play divekick, doubt it can play this. Then I'd need a controller too.

Look, the point is that for a lot of people this is still a way to play a great game for cheap. It's completely understandable.

Yeah it doesn't have anything to do with it being garbage for competitive players. It's all about the game being garbage for everybody.

Don't support this kind of crap period.

Wait does Filipinochamp play SF now? I thought he only plays Mahvel?

He played 4 before Marvel 3 even came out.
He uses Dhalsim.

Sounds like you should probably upgrade then. SF4 runs on toasters. And if you need a controller, just plug in your DS4.
And yes, it is a way to play the game for cheap. A shitty way. People shouldn't be giving their money for a shit port. Don't support this garbage.

Mmhmm. Buying a new computer for the sole reason of playing a rerelease of a fighting game instead of just buying it on my PS4 makes a lot of sense. Never mind that I haven't noticed any problems with the game outside of random UI glitches.

Wow I would not have expected that. One of the best Marvel players playing one of the slowest characters in SF.

But this game isn't garbage for everybody lol

It is. They just have low standards. Also more people buying it will make it more likely it stays garbage for everyone.

I agree with everyone saying this is a terrible attitude to have. I also seriously doubt that people who are interested in SF4 but have no other way to play it would knowingly want to play a broken version of the game.

How is it broken though? Names mess up online, there's a bit of lag (unnoticeable to someone who hasn't played in a few years) and loading times are slow. This game is about as broken as Bloodborne was at launch haha

The problem here is that all yall seem to be unable to distance from the competitive mindset.

If you can't run Divekick, its probably time for you to upgrade regardless.
The menus run slow, online has tons of issues, bunch of gameplay glitches, characters have different properties on their moves, etc. I would never recommend a version that had these issues to anyone.
Casual or Competitive. Don't reward them with your money for this garbage.

It's not broken. It sure as shit isn't optimized, but broken it isn't.

My ps3 version is borderline broken. The game freezes up when my opponent selects adon and it freezes constantly when playing online. My situation seems isolated though.

Shame on us for expecting the game to function similarly to every other release.
