Steam already got sued in Germany for not providing option to sell game (even if it is DD)
So what has Steam done to rectify this?

New Terms of Use, sadly. So what has Steam done to rectify this?
I don't see how "selling used software" has anything to do with preventing that software from being played on your [manufacturer] machine. It doesn't prevent that at all.
the new acquirer of the user licence, such as a customer of UsedSoft, may, as a
lawful acquirer of the corrected and updated copy of the computer program concerned,
download that copy from the copyright holders website.
So tell me, are CD-Keys useless in Europe then?
Selling is completely different than using.

It is NemesisPrime. MS could sell the original XBOX as the new 720 and he would still fawn over it and say its the most perfect creation known to mankind.

Yes you are right but if you sell game you can include all in it including your activation license (if it will be used by MS). If MS doesn't allow selling license which tied user to game then it will go to court same as DD example.
Like the Wii U?
Either that, or the sarcasm in that post flew right over my head
Shouldn't the manufacturer be able to limit the number of activations anyway? (Limit to one)
Not really.
Since I am developing on different devices I can see why MS chose a different architecture. The age of traditional consoles is coming to an end (and yeah, some of you do not agree) and consoles will need to be more than just game machines. People will expect a lot more the next 5-10 years from their console.
And yes I do develop a lot on MS (PC included) and Apple hardware and not on Sony. That already makes me biased according to some. But I understand the Durano choice... unlike some others who seem to stare blindly at bandwidth comparisons and "uber graphics". And this is all based on leaks... for all we know it might all be rubbish.
If I want that, I will play on my PC
Not really.

Selling game = selling also with CDKey.
Not really.

Nothing there states that MS have to allow there machines to play software that was pre-owned, just that people can sell the software.

If that legislation was the case PC devs / publishers would have been sued to fuck already.
Later in the judgment it says that the copyright holder has to allow subsequent owners of the license to use the software:

It's recent legislation and they are being sued (Steam).
How do you differentiate when someone claims that you "sold" your license to them, but then you dispute saying "I never sold my license to them"?Especially since a majority of the used-game market occurs in non-traceable forms?
Not really.

Consoles are already more than game machines, have been since 2005.

Also why limit having good visuals to the PC?
Smells of bias and nonsense.
You mean have been since 1994? (PS1 played CD's)
bias? nah.

xbox is thinking outside the box, but people get excited for a share function on ps4? most useless feature ever though. you can always count on nemesisprime to give you some good comments on a particular kind of thread.
not sure what is that supposed to mean at all... what are you going to be developing on Durango thats not going to be possible on PS4?
Please explain to us mere mortals whats going on.
That's right.

You might want to read this: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=513926 specifically the third point.
If you want to bring up the PS1, then the Turbografx-CD, introduced in 1990, would count way before that.
I don't recall it playing music though. That's my point. If it did, I was too young to notice (I was barely born when it came out).
It did play music CDs. So did the Sega-CD, Philips CD-i, 3DO, Jaguar CD, Amiga CD-32, and Memorex VIS. They all played music CDs long before the PS1 ever came out.

but couldn't the same be said about the Xbox 3's OS features?
Lol. He got called out.
lol, I called him out right when he said "Durango - the real next-gen console"

All of this > 4 GB GDDR5 talk needs to end. I will eat my feathers if the machine has a single MB greater than 4 GB GDDR5. It is quite an accomplishment they even have that.
Lot of egg on faces of "insiders" insisting 8 gigs of GDDR5 was impossible.
Doesn't the Titan a $1000 card only have 6GB of GDDR5 of RAM?
The PS4 is going to cost an arm and a leg when it comes out.
Can't wait for some y2kev justice being handed out to all these insiders passing off their 'sources' and 'insider information' as legit and as the law.

SneakyStephan isn't just a clever name huh. Been quite the week for you what with calling someone a paedo and now asking for folks to be banned.
For all anyone knows, the 8GB decision might have only been made in the last week but at least Thuway has been contributing positively to this thread...
