I dont think Xbox have ever "Failed" in their presentations. But, each to their own.

They had some stinkers in the Xbox one generation when it became painfully obvious how limited their first party lineup was with just 5 studios.

One particular one had them bring up some folks to do a play by play commentary of some no-name live service game. Awful.

2013. They failed miserably.

Oh yeah, 100% 2013 was a trainwreck. I should have put in recent memory.

Only game I am interested in is Indiana Jones. Honestly the first reveal captured the Indiana jones vibes better than the last 2 movies.
But yeah we had 4 good indiana Jones things at least. The first 3 movies and Fate of Atlantis.

Nah, just judging by the last 5 to 10 years of these shows it's true. The vast majority will be overhyped and then sell less than 3 million copies because they're irrelevant to the market. We're in a new era and 30 games aint the strategy.
and yet people buy their act every single time as if there's all these "great new games" on the horizon, people forget what happens every 9 months afterwards .. or is it just bots, paid shills/influencers, bad faith marketing, and false hype?

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
famous voice actors present! can't miss that.

Probably Troy Baker since he's voicing Indy.

I mean.... what's the harm in people looking forward to a showcase? Xbox's thing is the closest to the E3 of old we have, Sony did a disappointing SoP only, Nintendo is AWOL and Keighley already said don't expect big new things at his show.

How dare they make games! Consoles are there to admire but not touch, give us less games Phil, less is more right?

Going to be honest, these Xbox shows have became sorta of pointless. It doesn't matter what they show, how good it is, nothing will change. Xbox will remain pretty much irrevelant as a platform. Honestly it seems the better their showing, the worst they do afterwards at retail. I'm really only watching to see what goes to PS5 and looking forward to the Twitter meltdowns that occur

The games will run on the platform. Many will launch on GamePass, Day 1. That’s very relevant for me.

This concern seems like a single console owner thing. Some of us don’t have that constraint. I’ll let you worry about console hardware marketshare while I focus on games I can play 👍🏼

I judge games using a multifaceted approach to understand the market on a deeper level.

Why do you care about the market so much? Are you an investor? I just play games that I enjoy, and judge them based on the level of enjoyment. I really do not care about what the "market" says about a game I like or do not like. And I will invest my money elsewhere. Gaming is to volatile, IMO.

I want MS to knock it out of the park. Not just the show, but the actual delivery of what is shown. I am getting tired of all of the negativity surrounding gaming lately.
Just lay off internet for a week.

It will seem much calmer and better, with tons of games to play.

Thanks for this, not enough leaked off screen pictures with "Confidential" on though for me to get excited.

Has it actually leaked yet? Heisenberg said Wednesday, always with fucking next Wednesday with Xbox
Not that I have seen. I’d personally like to see the D4 expansion just for the new class reveal…hoping it’s not the Tidal Priest or whatever the name of the new class from Diablo immortal is.

Add the Starfield expansion, Flight Sim 24, Clockwork Revolution, a few Live Service updates (Sea of Thieves, ESO), a couple ports coming to GP (SMTV, maybe Visions of Mana) and it seems doable to fit in 90 minutes before the CoD commercial.

I think FH6 will have at least a couple minutes to itself if it comes out this year, game is just too big for a short trailer.
I totally forgot about the SF expansion. That will def be there!

15 CG trailers of games we won’t see for the next 3 years.
10 projects being announced with just a logo that we won’t see for the next 5 years.
3 in engine trailers that get mislabelled as “gameplay trailer”.
And 2 real gameplay trailers of games that will be delayed big time after internet backlash.
Nice Wishlist.

I have already dialed it back. Almost everything I post here and elsewhere that has to do with gaming is for fun and rarely serious. I noticed it was becoming less fun with the constant “the sky is falling” messaging the gaming media seems to be pushing. A lot of people seem to be buying in even though we see some indication that some console sales are strong and PC gaming seems to be growing again.

Tons of people care where the market is headed, I'm just one of the few who's able to observe the market without personal preferences getting in the way. When you do that, it becomes much less volatile and much more predictable.

I own a XSX, so thats not it. I just think at this point I'm wasting money and time using it since the Xbox platform seems doomed.

people are buying because they're hopelessly addicted to dopamine hits from lousy entertainment and the only other options are porn, sports and social media. the doom & gloom i haven't noticed personally from media although i can say from my own perspective, the whole woke games push and DEI initiatives have probably harmed gaming more than helped it, because the focus is less on game mechanics and more on politics, it ends up with games that just aren't really that fun to play.

Yeah.
It was a passion project by people who couldn't handle the engine, at the time. Hideki Kamiya has talked about it.
And maybe if they tried again (Which they have showed interest in doing), or worked with a new engine, it could work.

I loved what I saw. Even though it was Pre-Alpha footage.

I can totally understand that. I did cringe at points. But not enough to not want to play it.

I love Platinum too.
And no.

This is my kink

I just liked the idea of fighting alongside a dragon. And the possibility of having a "mirror match" type of thing, where I could fight a boss, that also fights with a dragon.

The "human" combat indeed looked rough, that is absolutely true.

I know, it's all good.

I liked what I saw, I have loved everything Kamiya was a director on (Bayonetta 1 is my favorite game), and I have faith in Platinum Games.

That's all.

about thirty games, and at least a handful of those games are games we haven't heard of before.
Dang talk about a tough crowd. 30 games and several we've never heard would only get the conference an 8/10. The xbox shows always show games, regardless of exclusivity. And still some walk away all upset. There's just no pleasing some people.

Here's hoping for a pretty good show. I'm looking forward to getting more information about Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 (and please put it on Playstation as well, the more the merrier).

Every year they haven't announced a Fallout 3 remaster has been a fail for me.

Their shows are pretty good, but the games NEVER live up to the hype. Starfield being mid did them no favors. Like literally NEVER. How anyone can believe THIS TIME will be different is foolish.

They always remind me that they NEVER live up to the hype.

Having said that, the bar is rather low considering Sony put a lot of eggs in the Concord shitshow and gave a rather mediocre State of Play.
