How can it be a first reply if I was replying to 2 other posts that quoted me or mentioned me? Available on x AND y for EVERY game is a lot different than available exclusively on z with a port years later on some titles. Is this some sort of 1st reply on youtube but with gaming? Nah nah nah nah, i played the game first.
No, when you put money above all you are one.I really can't follow your logic, it seems to be a bit all over the place. Every company cares about money. By your logic, if you draw a paycheck, you are a whore. *shrug*
He's pissed and right he should be, Jim Ryan has been lying through his teeth for the past year or so. The guy couldn't lead a horse to water let alone the PS division.
Don’t forget to make a funeral. And a 7 day mourning!I already discontinued my ps+ subscription. Time to say good bye playstation
Everyone here is speculating, including you. Your idea is just as cute as anyone else's! I guess the key difference is, you are saying Sony will release games on the PC in the future day and date. There is no reason to think anything is certain.I know its a safe bet, because its the truth, or at least what i think will happen, no one can say 100% until it happens.
I do love this cute idea that this is all some ingenious ploy by Sony to get PC gamers ready for a sequel that they will need to buy a PS5 for, even though they just launched Days Gone that isnt eevn getting a sequel. And HFW will be on PC, i have zero doubt about it.
Think I'll stop my plus sub too.I already discontinued my ps+ subscription. Time to say good bye playstation
It is because nothing notable happened.Seeing people triggered over this is a great after meal
When I clicked this thread I did not imagine to see the amount of hate the topic would get. Holy shit, the rabid Sony fans are complete idiots. That being said, if I get Bloodborne on PC I'll suck Jim or Hermens fat dick.
Think I'll stop my plus sub too.
I'm not buying games at launch prices anymore either.
I fthis continues, I'll move to PC or Nintendo fully.
You are only looking at it from your point of view... many people bought PS5's with the impression that they would gen next gen only titles and real exclusives.
With the two PS5's, games and peripherals etc, as well as the OLED I bought specifically for these games, I could have gotten a rig with a 3080 like my brother.....
If they want to put their games on PC, fine.... just shut down all the playstation production and stop lying to people and using these bait and switch tactics.
This is why we will be getting AAAA 1st party cross gen ps4 games in 2022+.
It’s all about making these things work on the massive hard disc install base out there, last gen console and pc.
Cock suckers.
Literally nothing has changed from before regarding Playstation games on PC lol
Think I'll stop my plus sub too.
I'm not buying games at launch prices anymore either.
I fthis continues, I'll move to PC or Nintendo fully.
Nothing has changed?!?!
Did you not see the megaton Bryank76 dropped?!
Pc gamers will still be enduring it with games made to work on PS4. A baseline is a baseline. What the heck... PC gamers had to endure games being made for old 7th gen consoles through most of the 00's and early 10's and then games made for ultrabook CPUs and 5400rpm HDDs. I get that SSD they are all the rage on consoles now, but they have been a thing on PC for a decade.
What do exactly console gamers want from these new machines? To this day I haven't seen anyone explain to me what type of games NEED a 9th gen console to run, and what new things would these next gen games bring to the table from a gameplay standpoint other than instant loading times and higher resolutions and framerates.
Let me tell you how this generation is going to be:
90% of devs will keep making 2D metroidvania, first person horror games and survival games. Because they have a BUDGET constrain, not a specs one.
Sony, now more western than ever, will keep releasing Ubisoftian open world games with a new coat of paint. Cutscene heavy third person shooters and the odd japanese game.
AAA studios will keep pushing for GaaS and release the umpteenth game on their tired old franchises. And all that HW power will be used for higher resolutions and framerates with the odd ray tracing effect added on top. Each game will cost more and more so they won't be able to take risks and innovate.
You won't get a Mario 64 moment from these new machines, unless PSVR2 is a massive success.
As if gaming rigs intended to play anything A-AAA would use platters. This is why we will be getting AAAA 1st party cross gen ps4 games in 2022+.
It’s all about making these things work on the massive hard disc install base out there, last gen console and pc.
Only reason I opened this thread. What a piece of shit, he sold out the brand. Fuck him.
Am I that predictable?Only reason I opened this thread.
you are forgetting that a high end PC cost a few times more than a PS5, scalper price or not.So do i Herman
PC ftw, Steam + Gamepass.
21:9 144hz.
money bet, PS games will get ported to PC faster and faster as we go.
I dont mind waiting a year for bug fixed deluxe versions.
Sometimes but it’s not a bad thing, but unlike some, you don’t defend every choice Sony makes and I like that.Am I that predictable?
you are forgetting that a high end PC cost a few times more than a PS5, scalper price or not.
PC gaming is not that good as people says, its only good if you are willing to spend alot, which alot of people unable to.
Theres a reason why I game on PC even I have a 3700x 2070s gaming PC, i just feel more comfortable with the simplicity of a console, its a headache when something doesnt work right on PC.
I like that you have a sense of humor about itAm I that predictable?
Still does not simplify things for me in some areas.not doubt this true.
but since almost everyone needs a PC, may as well use the 'console+subs' monies, and make our PC a gaming one.
With the likes of Steam sales and Gamepass, getting a PC seems the best of both world. It also save some counter space.
No corporation cares about anyone or anything ... except money. No, when you put money above all you are one.
For the pleasure of many here, PlayStation users are being treated like peasants at the moment. All money and time that goes into PC ports could have been spent on upgrading titles for their own system or new titles altogether. PS5 exclusives could have been made from the ground up only and specifically to run on PS5 architecture alone, and even if PS5 is not a PS3 it's still a custom, closed system and that's enough to translate into something you would be able to see, for the ultimate benefit of the game.
PS Studio games will be better always and anyway on PC, it will undoubtedly be the best place to play them so where are my incentives to buy a console? Why would i ever subscribe to PS+?
I can only be happy about having the chance to download mods for say Uncharted or God of War, to fix bugs or little issues, run everything at high framerates without having to beg the software house.. the potential is infinite on PC.
Not to mention finally be able to discuss games without the constant downplaying from people who didn't get the chance to play them. By the time i can finally upgrade my PC i will literally be over the moon about this.
But i totally understand people feeling let down now.
People always said corporations only care about money and don't give a shit about you but, honestly, that statement always felt off in regards to PlayStation because it was not what Hirai or Yoshida made their customers feel in the slightest.
This new Ryan/Hulst PlayStation really is a corporation to the core, and totally fits this description.
Good luck playing Ragnarok, R&C and Horizon 2 on your PC.Think I'll stop my plus sub too.
I'm not buying games at launch prices anymore either.
I fthis continues, I'll move to PC or Nintendo fully.
The strategy is more than logical. When the PC userbase outnumbers your platform it makes sense to go after that market. PC games traditionally have VERY long legs and will sell for years and years on the platform much longer than on consoles as users get new hardware and wanting to test it on an old game they have nostalgia for. The power of a PS5 diminishes drastically every year the PS5 is out so in say a few years time, hardware strong enough to run PS5 games well will be in a lot more people's hands. You may lose $50 a year on a PS+sub, but you could easily replace that by sheer volume of sale on PC.The executives making the decisions at Sony Interactive Entertainment have definitely lost the vision that made PlayStation as great as it was the last 4 generations. This branch of Sony has been usurped by profiteers.
They project that the profits gained from releasing their next 3 flagship games of HZD Forbidden West, GoW Ragnarok and GT7 will not be enough so they will also release them on PS4 devaluing the PS5 console by decreasing the amount of exclusive software it has by 3 titles and also prohibiting these same games from fully utilizing the PS5's capabilities because the developers must cater to the lowest common denominator.
When they said they "believe in generations" it was evidently a lie.
SIE wants to convince you to buy a PS5 primarily because of it's exclusive software while simultaneously putting said exclusive software on the PC platform... which makes said software no longer exclusive. These actions are antithetical to one another as one cancels out the other.
SIE have gone from saying that PlayStation is "the best place to play" to now saying "the best place to play at launch". Just stop and think about how pathetic that must sound for a consumer to consider as a value proposition.
SIE have also said that putting games only on PS5 when people own a PS4 is "frankly not very good business". Keep in mind that this is a message being sent to consumers - they are saying "Why did I buy a PS5 if the biggest franchises will continue to be on PS4 anyway?" and SIE's amounts "we need to milk our last userbase a little more at the expense of short to medium term value to our most dedicated userbase". Keep in mind SIE has never had it's first party studios work on cross generation games during a generation transition. They at most allowed games started on the console before to either release on that last console before moving onto the new one entirely (God of War 2) or moved it to the new console entirely (ICO) so how consumers will react to PlayStations half hearted attempt to provide exclusive PS5 software to drive sales will remain to be seen.
Consider for a moment the possibility that PlayStation users come to understand this strategy at an accelerated rate. They spend money on a PC instead of PS5 and wait out the 2 or 3 years for the games to come to PC instead of buying it on PS5. PlayStation Plus subscriptions? Massively reduced or gone. Profits down. 1st party software sales? Revenue and therefore profit massively reduced due to much smaller cut. Possible PS5 users who are now instead PC users pirating all of SIE's software instead of buying it? Another massive revenue and profit drop for Sony. Keep in mind I am giving you an entirely possible theoretical situation which could happen even if it takes place over a long period of time.
Based on the majority of posts being negative reactions to this news and the fact we are on the official PSBlog where the absolute most fanatic PSFans could be and only a small number of PC gamers would probably bother to show up and praise SIE for this strategy (which is fine by the way as they're free to do so) I don't think this is the right direction for SIE to be going. You don't fix what ain't broke. SIE didn't make it as big and as popular as they are by putting games on PC and producing cross gen games.
I am trying to give a objective look at their strategy without injecting my pointless opinion into it (apart from one or two comments) but where do I stand on this? I haven't consciously thought about it despite buying and playing a lot of their games. However I don't have a PS5 - I can't buy one if I wanted to - and I have let my PS+ subscription lapse for the first time in a while and I don't plan to renew it any time soon. Most strikingly for myself I am actually considering just holding out on buying a PS5 and seeing how this plays out in the short to medium term, waiting to see how long it takes for their newest games to hit the PC, simply because I can't trust what they are advertising to me anymore and SIE have done this all on their own - I would have never considered this 5, 10, etc years ago.
Anyway the strategy is illogical because they are trying to pursue two different consumer bases at the same time by trying to make a quick buck by exploring a new business venture but greatly devaluing the proposition to their most loyal fanbase at the same time whom are the ones that got them where they are in the first place, that is textbook - yes I'm going to say it - arrogance.
I endured dial up porn back in the day. Sitting there while AOL beeped and bopped letting the entire house now that i was about to rub one out. I want everyone to suffer that humiliation in 2021.What the heck... PC gamers had to endure games being made for old 7th gen consoles through most of the 00's and early 10's and then games made for ultrabook CPUs and 5400rpm HDDs. I get that SSD they are all the rage on consoles now, but they have been a thing on PC for a decade.
Based on the Uncharted 4 likelihood. Expect any Uncharted 5 to be a PS4/pc game also. .If GOW 2018 comes to PC then I know its sequel will as well. No need to buy a PS5 anytime soon.
No, when you put money above all you are one.

It's not as black or white, there are many companies i deal with which truly value respect to the costumer. No corporation cares about anyone or anything ... except money.
Don't let anyone (or any corp) fool you. Its all about the money.
Great post. The bit about PS5 being the best place to play AT LAUNCH is absolutely eye opening. Just wow.The executives making the decisions at Sony Interactive Entertainment have definitely lost the vision that made PlayStation as great as it was the last 4 generations. This branch of Sony has been usurped by profiteers.

Of course many corps respect their customers' money. It's not as black or white, there are many companies i deal with which truly value respect to the costumer.
And even for huge corporations like Sony, we have seen many times in the past games released not necessarily just to make money but to also please the core costumers instead of the majority. There are tons of interviews with Hirai, House, Yoshida (the real one, not Sony CEO) and Layden detailing this.
It was a kind of give/receive relationship that felt uncommon and brought brand loyalty in a clean manner. If all they cared for were money their games would be filled with microtransactions, would't be anywhere near as polished and well crafted as they are, and would follow the most profitable trends.. which wasn't the case at all.
This new PlayStation is different but mostly feels different, i don't think anyone can deny that.
