You should be applying that to Microsoft, not Sony. If anything, the momentum that Microsoft had during the 1st two weeks of November are fading, especially with the way that Halo: Master Chief Collection turned out to be.

I think Newegg may have approached Sony for this deal and they worked something out...they wanted to get in on the action before Black Friday sales eclipse online retailers like Newegg.

This is one of eBay's Black Friday "door buster" deals to get shoppers on to the site. eBay is probably giving some kind of kickback to Newegg for selling it this far below retail price.

I wonder if this is a foresight of a future overall price cut and this is Sony is testing reaction. The bundle at 399 ,means less folk will buy the standalone. It just seems a bit strange to see such a large amount going so cheap, then again it shows how on earth could they keep supplies up at the price point. Would be sold out in a very short time.

Pretty much. Even if Sony drop the price, it would be like $50 at most. This is $70 off. What makes it even better is the no tax. If I were to buy the GTA/TLOU PS4 it would cost me $424. That's almost $100 more I'm paying. Those 2 games are good, but not worth $100. Especially when you can get TLOU for $20 digital code.

The sales tax is 0-9.4%, I think, depending on the state. Some counties have their own sales tax on top of that, too.

If you don't have to money don't worry about it. But I've enjoyed PS plus and the console itself for the last year. Things are ramping up with new games in the next few months.
