Reddit troll apologizes for trump CNN gif/all those racist remarks

While people are worrying about this dude's names getting revealed there are people actively going around spreading the addresses, phone numbers, and even more personal information about the people who work at CNN. Suspiciously not seeing any outrage about that from the people worried about this dude. 🤔

Hmmmm......how about that.

You can replace dox with revealing his personally indentifying information idc about semantics.

Even if I do, this still doesn't make any sense. A news organization putting something out there (such as a person's name) related to a public event (POTUS using something he created on a twitter account followed by millions) and using a publicly available forum to brag about it attracts attention. This is not the same as publishing address or phone number information to attract harassment which is something that any respectable news outlet would be above.

And do you see the news organization saying they withhold the right to publish said personal information as a strong arm tactic?

CNN didn't need to publish the threat.

It's implicit in giving someone a second chance that there will be consequences if they go back to their bad behavior. And what exactly is the "threat" here? That his friends and family will know he's a vile, racist piece of shit? It's disgusting that right wingers would compare that to the horror of being kept hostage by terrorists.

dubious reasons like, advocating even more terrorism or harassing/targeting more CNN employees?
Like the information having no probative value. You've made it pretty clear in this thread you arent actually interested in the information itself, just this guy getting mob justice.

so someone posting threats on the internet isn't of probative value now, they can just wipe it all away by the claim that they're trolling?

but I care about both, if the dude gets mob justice for being a shitbag are you going to be sad about it? Because that would be pretty pathetic - having sympathy for a wannabe terrorist.

Edit: and yes, the president quoted him. I'd love to see who the president finds quoteworthy.

I would like to know when Donald Trump, our President, is sourcing meme's from a well known bigot with an extensive history of bigotry on a reddit full of bigots and the ugliest parts of humanity. Maybe you don't care but I certainly do.

A white man who engages in anonymous shitposting just like some of his defenders being caped for more than the "untrustworthy MSM" that has the power and right to ruin these same defenders like they almost did said white man should they ever get in too deep into contributing to a narrative that could actually harm or kill people in real life, because they desperately don't want to have to take responsibility for their ghastly online presence because it's hard being a good person?

Say it ain't so.

Good to know that working on CNN is vile enough that people need to know even your SSN but posting neonazi shit and being notable enough to be quoted by the POTUS?
Nah who needs to know anything about that dude?
I don't know about you but when a politician quotes someone I like to know who made the quote.

Wait are you telling me that these people:

In the wake of these news reports, a Reddit user posted an image of an underage girl to the jailbait subreddit, subsequently claiming to have naked images of her as well. Dozens of Reddit users then posted requests for these nude photos to be shared to them by private message.

A year after the closure of the jailbait subreddit, a subreddit called "Creepshots" drew controversy in the press for hosting sexualized images of women without their knowledge.

n June 2014, a subreddit called "beatingwomen" was closed by Reddit administrators. The community, which featured graphic depictions of violence against women, was banned after its moderators were found to be sharing users' personal information online, and collaborating to protect one another from sitewide bans. Following the ban, the community's founder rebooted the subreddit under the name "beatingwomen2" in an attempt to circumvent the ban.

In August 2014, Reddit users began sharing a large number of naked pictures of celebrities stolen, using phishing, from their private Apple iCloud accounts.[36][37] A subreddit called "TheFappening" was created as a hub to share and discuss these stolen photos; the situation was called CelebGate by the media.[38] The subreddit contained most of the images.[39][40][41] Victims of "The Fappening" included high-profile names such as Jennifer Lawrence and Kate Upton.[42][43] Some of the images may have constituted child pornography, as the photos of Liz Lee and McKayla Maroney from the leak were claimed to have been taken when the women were underage, though this remains controversial.

"Pizzagate" is a conspiracy theory that emerged from social media and fake news websites in early November 2016 which falsely alleged the existence of a child trafficking ring that involved officials in the Democratic Party and restaurants such as Comet Ping Pong. The /r/pizzagate subreddit, which spun off from /r/The_Donald, was dedicated to discussing this conspiracy theory and had over 20,000 subscribers.

In April 2013, the subreddit was threatened with a shutdown by the Reddit admins after MensRights users gathered personal information on a supposed blogger of feminist issues, and the subreddit's moderators advised members of the subreddit on how to proceed with this 'doxing' without running afoul of site rules.[66] Later on it was discovered that they had identified the wrong woman, and it has been reported that many death threats had been sent to her school and employment. Georgetown University confirmed that she was not the same person as the blog's author after receiving threatening messages.

Following the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing, members of subreddit "findbostonbombers" wrongly identified a number of people as suspects, including a 17-year-old track athlete and a 22-year-old Brown University student missing since March.[69] A body reported to be that of the missing Brown student misidentified as a Boston bomber suspect, who had been missing for a month before-hand, was found in Providence River in Rhode Island on April 25, 2013, as reported by the Rhode Island Health Department.[70][71] The cause of death was found to be suicide.[72] The subreddit was later made private.[73]

...are not actually concerned about privacy online?

So fucking transparent what this is about.

If one of them falls, all of them are at risk now. The internet suddenly isn't this vacuous place with no consequences.

Special snowflakes can't handle the real world. They literally need that anonymity to maintain their ability to be dregs.

Isn't doxing the doxers vigilante justice?
If this guy did publish sensitive info on CNN employees then why not turn this information to the authorities and let them handle things?

A national news agency shouldn't be enciting vigilante justice -- or threatening to if things don't go their way--.

Some liberal?? friends of mine are defending this guy and want proof that he tried to incite violence against certain groups. Are there posts I can link them to to get them to rethink their lunacy?

They keep going on and on about the media NOT BEING POLICE!!! and it's the worst

Everything anyone does that doesn't expressly paint shitlords as saints always "solidifies the right," because all they ever do is co-opt the language of the left in complete contextual vacuums to always position themselves as victims regardless of the situation at hand.

Fuck the right.

Seriously. Fuck them.

Stop caring what they think about anything.

They live to be victims, essentially. It gives them an excuse for their constant state of anger.

Because the story can change. If someone else reports his information and the story becomes bigger (let's say Trump comments on it). Do you think CNN should not report it because of some promise they made to HanAssholeSolo?

requoting so people can see who they are leaping to defend.

The president shouldn't be persecuting individual new hosts either, but here you are, every day, stanning for him.

You don't fool anyone.

It's pathetically transparent: You are here to defend a racist.

Not to demand better from CNN, not because you care about privacy.

Because you want to defend a racist, which is what you do day in and day out.

Then what are you bitching about? That's what CNN did except they didn't reveal who he really was.

Nobody, and I mean nobody deserves the fate of having their identity as a White Supremacist known, and even worse have it held over their head. Even one that fantasizes about stabbing Muslims. I feel bad for this man who did nothing wrong but only exercised his free speech, talking shit that hurts nobody.

Ok I feel dirty even saying that sarcastically.

I already said I don't care to see the man's identity at this point and it's doubtful CNN will release it, that was the whole point of the statement. But yeah, itt people upset that CNN actually hiding his identity which he doesn't deserve, because they were mean about it.

maybe because even they know killing all black people and muslims probably isn't a good thing to say in public forums and it could get people mad at them

if only they knew that before, c'est la vie

Who told you CNN told people to find out who doxxed their employees?

You can replace dox with revealing his personally indentifying information idc about semantics.

You don't care about reality or even your own comprehension of it.

From the article:
After posting his apology, "HanA**holeSolo" called CNN's KFile and confirmed his identity. In the interview, "HanA**holeSolo" sounded nervous about his identity being revealed and asked to not be named out of fear for his personal safety and for the public embarrassment it would bring to him and his family.

In your reality he called CNN, confirmed who he was, and laid out his own blackmail terms in order to blackmail himself? That's unlikely!

He asked not to be identified for his own reasons and CNN honored that. It's as simple as that.

Two thoughts:

A) stop doing drugs
B) or start doing them

Your current approach isn't working.

The guy you voted for, and who is now President, threatened 2 morning talk show hosts with blackmail if they didn't report more positive coverage of him. Are you now calling for his Impeachment?

The logic here.

CNN: "We know who Anonymous_User777 and he has a long history of being a bigot"
Anonymous_User777: "I'm sorry this is not who I am."
CNN: "We won't release his name since he apologized but we withhold the right to do so if we want to."
Defenders: "Wow CNN wtf! You guys are terrible. How dare you threaten him! He is 15 years old and I do not know how I learned about his age but he is 15! [Not talking about that Anonymous_User777 is a bigot]"

Gotta stick up for your own.

It truly makes me wonder if his defenders have an online history of bigotry.

The 1st amendment allows for free speech. It does not protect against consequences of said speech.

it was sarcasm sorry, out of context with my other posts in the thread/page I can understand how someone could think that boneheaded argument is actually coming from me

Well to be fair to them, the President's son said he was 15 years old, because of course he did. Remember when the President and his family were considered a good source of factual information? The good ol days.

And the neo-Nazi Daily Stormer website called for even more. A popular post called for CNN employees to quit their jobs and denounce the network, or face consequences if they didn’t:

“We are going to track down your parents.
We are going to track down your siblings.
We are going to track down your spouses.
We are going to track down your children. Because hey, that’s what you guys get to do, right? We’re going to see how you like it when our reporters are hunting down your children.”

quick anti-doxxers, jump to condemn this too!

Hannassholesolo created the terms. They are his. He said don't identify me because I'm just a troll and I'm going to stop. He came up with the terms and CNN agreed.

Things just have to HIS way then, and not CNNs.

He blackmailed himself according to your logic.
