It wasn't cause I had most of the design created for it to be a normal OT. If I would have gone with the comedic tone from the start believe me this would have been as epic as Dragon Age 2 Return to Shit Mountain levels.

No. Knight is by far superior to any other class if you're not a caster.

I was basing my assessment on adding up Int + Fai + Att for all classes, and with it's low attunement Bandit (with a combined total of 11) comes up on top of Knight (with a combined total of 13).
Is there something I'm missing regarding these two classes that would make Knight the better choice?

Seems I was indeed missing at least one small thing.
The sum of all stats at a certain Soul Level for Bandit is one point lower than for all other classes. So that changes the advantage against Knight from two points to one point. It would still (barely) be the preferred class for someone planning a purely melee build, but if they would at any point change their mind and plan to add some magic, they would be at a disadvantage to all other classes.
Also, with respeccing in the game, if you are allowed to change any stat so it is below what it was at the start of the game, the starting advantage (such as it was) of Bandit over Knight would be gone and then you are stuck with a class that has a one point lower sum of all stats than all other classes, effectively making it the worst class to choose. So knight would indeed be the way to go, in that case.

Be careful, when you kill the last boss, you go directly to ng+1, you can't go back to do the DLC.
Good call, that changed mine back to release date delivery as well.

I think you guys best take into consideration FROM is a Japanese company, and although they know their money is in catering to a NA crowd, isn't it unlikely that DEX weapons will be designed in weaker balance to STR? Is it possible a large part of FROM's schtick is trolling NA players? How many Japanese Giant dad's did you ever run into playing near launch at 2am NA time (sat morning cartoon time for Japan)?? Making the best stats as part of the best looking set up is not how they roll is it? I think they have a heavy bias toward Ninja gear looking the best (Black Priest, shadow, Xanthous sets) but purposely gave poor defense so that these characters could get more "honor" and satisfaction of still winning against giant dad's despite gimped stats. Its the Old Rocky vs Dolph Lundrgren Commie bastard routine, except WE are the commie bastard Giant Dad's on steroids etc. and THEY are the Rocky types lifting a bag of stones up the stairs instead of injecting.
Whoever does the most with the least gets higher satisfaction/honour, who ever does the least with the most = ridicule. I think a lot of the community in all regions gets this, it is still cross cultural to some degree, and why you see the (very funny BTWcasul gif.) in this thread.
Tank set-ups are hugely ineffective, not in beasting them game, cause you can, but in experiencing the game in the way FROM hopes you would. Are not The makoto, the Uchi, Iato, the washing pole, even the Moonlight sword to some degree (although this got too OP last time as well), FROM's signature weapons? The dualwielding class seems pretty well thought out, and it seems like they are expanding this aspect more than the STR class in DS2. I for one am thankful. Games are supposed to be a suspension of reality, but lets face it...if quasi-realism is what we are after, DEX will always trump brute strength, particularly if it means the STR set up is slow, like it would be in reality. Souls games are about rolling, quickness, responsiveness and although one could fathom having their cake and eating it too with FAST STR set ups, its just not going to be balanced that way.
Count me in for understanding the idea behind better STR scaling and speed etc. but the reality is that it prolly wont happen....unless FROM thinks the creative ingenuity levels required to be the quintessential DEX hero needs a nerf, and STR needs a bit of a balance......but I do not believe they do......and that is likely a good thing.
Make sure to check and see if there is a midnight release party at your location...I know I will be there '2AdEPT minutes to midnight' at my local EB Games if they decide to go through with it.
Although you could easily finish up today, I suggest you go to the DLC first...these bosses/areas are the best in the game as FROM had the time/attention they required to enact their true vision. This will take you an additional 1-2 days depending on how much time you like to spend...I say spend the whole next week doing it to carry you to DS2 release. I started a whole new character upon arrival realizing the area was sorcery heavy and I brought a faith character to the party....had to change my costume and come back to crash it!

obviously not...more of a reminder.....although my wife is Asian I am NOT an expert at anything...being 2AdEPT means overskilled at many many minor tasks but inept and 2 aderpt at others.

I prefer STR because I like wielding massive swords. To be FROM fucked up nearly every moveset in the Ultra greatsword class.
