'The Last of Us: Remastered' coming to PS4, July 2014, [1080p, targeting 60 fps]

does it really hurt them if they show it off a couple of weeks before release? it is not like a new game that they need to show it off everywhere they went and have multiple videos and info rolling out. they just want the final version video to come out so people can judge it and then buy. people just seem impatient for no reason for a remaster. if the game is releasing tomorrow and you still haven't seen anything then yes by all means be upset and question it and reasonable to have doubts about the quality as well.

for all we know they would probably release the video this week and have a 2 to 3 week marketing blitz and this is good enough for a remaster.

two changes. game is 49.99 and it is confirmed for 60fps

All this talk of "could they do it" when it's more of a "should they do it" problem. Yes, of course they could go without releasing screens just 2 weeks before release, but who in their right mind thinks they should do that?

There very obviously is a section of gameplay that can easily be shown to the masses, yet we're sitting here waiting patiently. It baffles me.

There are multiple threads and news articles analyzing the hell out of resolution and framerate all the time. Countless zoomed in images detailing every pixel...

I don't blame them for not releasing anything yet. Lol.

I triple it.. I've found in my PS2/3/4 online experience everyone seems 'older' than my Xbox experience ive ever had

Make sense since people who grew up with PS1 and stuck with the brand would most likely be older than gamers who had started with Xbox in 2002.

Regarding voice chat, I noticed a lot of voice chat early on in the last-gen cycle (2007-2008), but there was definitely a steep drop off. I think the novelty wears off after awhile, and for most people it's kind of tiring to coordinate plays when all they want to do is sit back, relax, and have a shootout. I can understand that mindset to be honest. I hate having to 'up' my game when people get serious on the mic.

Believe in Naughty Dog.

Remember how everyone thought the multiplayer would suck since they didn't show it until a week before release?

Your posts
they are very interesting
The way you write them
that is

You should see his posts in the Driveclub thread, they are very interesting, and not because of the way they are written, but the content! ;)

I cannot wait for this game. It will be launching right when I get back from vacation. Unfortunately, I will miss the Destiny Beta due to being out of town, but at least I will come home to this. Personally, I don't need to see anything for TLOU, I can remain patient. I know what I am going to get. Loved it on PS3, an upgraded version of that will be awesome to play through again. Should be fun.

How will the DLC be worked into the game? I'm curious as I've never played it. Will I beat the game and then I get to play the DLC I guess? Have to choose it from the main menu?

I could be asking something no one knows, my bad if so.

Horde mode is a no brainer for TLoU.
I also mentioned Challenge Rooms a la Arkham games in a previous post, I think they'd be a great addition.

It never occurred to me but wouldn't it be great to have Challenge Rooms a la Arkham series? That would increase Replay Value even further.

You could have Predator rooms with Challenges and Medals just like they did in the Arkham series, amount of supplies given to you at the start of the challenge would depend on the difficulty you choose and the Medals would require you to do stuff like "Finish a challenge without using bottles/bricks" or "Lure 3 clickers with a bottle/brick and kill them with a single Molotov"

Do you guys think there will be exclusives DLC on PS4 after the game get released? because I remember they said that they didn't make horde mode because some technical issues, but now with PS4 I think they can easily make horde mode.

I doubt it. The PS3 crowed would go crazy. I'd would if I didn't have a PS4

It is crazy that I started the MP yesterday, after so long time and I want to play it now...Presto!
I guess this and GTAV will hold me to Destiny's beta and release.

Also GAF party, as ChawlieTheFair wrote - sign me up right now!

Get some experience before the remastered comes out. You'll need it.

It's silly how I'm most excited for the same two games as last year.

That would be great. I always found it strange there wasn't a horde co-op mode myself. They have all the ingredients their with special infected. I doubt it would happen though.

it's going to be so amazing to play this @ 60fps and with great image quality. I could practically see the smoke pouring out of my PS3 as it tried to run the original Last of Us. Painfully needed a remaster. Sooo glad they chose to do this one. It and GTAV were my wishes. I could barely play GTAV with its constant swerving into the low 20s in framerate and atrocious image quality. And it seems waiting was right - PS4 versions looks like the only way it was ever meant to be played.

How crazy an idea would it be to have a nightly live stream of this ? I didn't play it last year because I kind of half expected a PS4 port and here we are :D

Streaming it by itself wouldn't be a big deal but I've been reading this thread and it seems as though playing it with a few features turned off and on hard instead of Normal makes for a pretty tense experience. I don't even own a PSeye right now but would it be something anyone would want to see ? Me, playing this game with the lights off for the first time on a harder difficulty ?

Just farting out ideas here really.

Either way, I plan to buy it when it comes out and stream or no, I will play it.

I really do reccommend playing it on hard. Not sure about normal, but when I was going for trophies on my later runs I played on easy (for speed's sake) and I was amazingly surprised at just how much ammo and supplies you are given. Listen mode also turns some of the stealth sections into a cake walk. I did hard on my first time, probably never had over 10 shots for a gun, often it was 4 or 5, and stealthing actually felt super tense as listening to footsteps isn't as viable compared to other games. Anything above hard is probably gonna be too extreme and more frustrating then fun for a first run.

Didn't even think about live streaming, might be fun to do a grounded run, can't be much worse than survivor lol.

ya on BF4 because its so tense for 15-30 min game (team work with mates) even between mates it can get tense for making sure we are covering everything we need to lol, I've grown pretty tired of it just wearing me out if it had a 5-10min break in between each game that'd be perfect as im getting too old for this shit (42) lol I just want another Borderlands 2 and hopefully Destiny gives that to me & mate as we can relax & play the game. but the best thing on PS4 is private chat what a godsend lol they might be on average older on PS but can be just as fucking annoying :)

They've said Left Behind will unlock after you complete the main campaign.

I'm assuming you just choose it from the main menu, like on PS3.

I'm hoping they use the speaker in the controller in some way. A perfect example would be with the clickers: As they grow nearer, the volume decreases on the TV and increases on the controller, giving you a true sense of them approaching. And of course visa versa.

That would not work. If it's like that it'll be harder to try and locate where the clicker is.

Why? It's just an indication that it's either closer or further away. In my eyes it would make it 'easier' to decide where the clicker was, especially if you are not using listen mode. Obviously it would be turned off if you are using headphones.

Well that would just tell you how far away the clicker is.

If you play it with either the TV speakers or a headset, the clicks somewhat give you a general direction where the clicker is.

I'm still not quite understanding why you think it would be worse. You would still be able to assess where the clicker was via your TV speakers but you'd have an extra dimension to the sound indicating how 'close' it was.

Hoped for the same. While I did play TLoU in all it's glory I did hold out on GTA5 for this reason. Also held out on Diablo 3.

When I get this, I'm going straight to "Grounded" difficulty setting (since I've never played it at that setting before).

I'm happy to wait till the game before I see anything. As with KZ:SF internet vids didn't do it justice like my TV did :)
