'The Last of Us: Remastered' coming to PS4, July 2014, [1080p, targeting 60 fps]

While I really liked the DLC, I'm still a bit disappointed it wasn't
Ish's story
.

Neil actually said that
they thought about basing the DLC on Ish. He said that they decided against it because they feel that everyone has a different idea of what Ish looks like or how he'd act. Turning him into a character would destroy that for some people. So they felt that he just has a plot that's best left to the players imagination.

The sequel should be, minor side story spoilers

a man and a woman are out gathering supplies and chatting and whatever and decide to walk back to camp. On the way back they hear screaming and begin to sprint back. Upon arrival they see a few others outside of camp and they are sealing a door with screams coming from the inside and the woman is now being held back. One of them looks and tells the man " the door was left open and the infected got in, they are all dead, Ish." Cut to title screen and begin the journey of Ish and the remaing survivors in his group.

Sounds more like 'The Walking Dead' than TLOU.

I would absolutely love a sequel with
a grown up Ellie. I remembering seeing this picture and immediately wanting the next game to be based on a grown up Ellie. I don't know whether ot not I would want Joel to still be included, though. As much as i love Joel, I would like it to be all about Ellie.

I felt the same way right after
the last scene of the game (where Ellie lied to Joel by saying she believed him). It does seem like a natural fit for the sequel to be based on a more matured Ellie. After all we witnessed her go through, especially the change in her from the beginning till the end. Though i would love to see a cameo or something of Joel in it. He did save Ellie and make her into the person she became after all. In fact, he basically became her father.

And on the sixth day the LORD David Bowie created man and woman in His image. And he saw that it was good. On the seventh day the LORD created videogames so that He might take the bloody day off for once.

They definitely made the right choice.

Besides, I think Left Behind was the more important prequel story to tell for these characters. Now that it exists, the overall Last of Us story more accurately reflects two halves of a whole. Because Joel
already got his defining backstory in the main game's intro, so it's only fair that Ellie gets a vignette that properly details the most significant loss and turning point in her own life as well. It also made me truly appreciate how far she has come.

What was Ish's story again? I've played through the game like 5 times and forgotten most of it :lol

He built that community
within the sewer system outside Pittsburgh

I think a sequel could be set
30+ years later so that Ellie is around the same age as Joel was in TLOU. Maybe we get to see Joel as a senile old man tormented by everything he did, everyone he killed and still feeling the guilt from lying to Ellie about everything.

That's what I would want to see to be honest.

Maybe it could even be set outside of America. Or maybe we take Ellie out of America during the game. The possibilities are endless really.

That actually sounds great. I don't know if I would want
Ellie to be THAT old, but the Joel part sounds great, and makes sense.

Not interested in a jump that far.

I don't see that happening. This is a world filled with zombies and people who will kill you for kicks.
Joel won't live long enough to become senile

A sequel should take place on another continent. Asia or Africa would be phenomenal
and would have a greater chance of showing exotic clicker creatures and locales.

I would like to see a sequel where ellie and joel are together. titled What's Left Of US.

No. Those two characters have had an entire game and DLC to themselves. New
characters are a must for a sequel. A prequel isn't worth basing an entire game around.

This thread is starting to look like a censored government document.

Can't wait for screenshots and videos of the PS4 version.

LOL. Indeed.

Maybe a new main character but it would be awesome if
you somehow encounter them/ or just older Ellie on your way through the game.

Can animals even be infected by the Cordyceps?

I only ask because
there was nothing wrong with the giraffes.

Considering the
monkeys had it, I guess they can
. But will they show the same signs as humans? I have no idea.

In real world, cordyceps targets ants, I think.

How do you know the
monkeys
had it? It's not like they attack you or anything the couple times you run into them.

It's been awhile since I collected all of the collectibles, but Im guessing
one of the scientists states that via recorder when you are at the University Science Center?

Spot on. Later Ellie says something to the effect of
Good thing we didn't go near those monkeys

Pretty sure somewhere in the game or from a director interview I read that the virus doesn't affect animals (
monkeys
being an obvious exception).

Monkeys were carriers. Most likely due to the extremely similar DNA of humans and apes/monkeys. They weren't full blown infected like humans.

Not a virus, it's a fungus.

So odd there has been no gameplay footage. 2 weeks away. Are we assuming the worst?

All these concern posts are fucking annoying. It's gonna be godtier. Why do you even need footage. It'll prob be a Sony, let's stick it on YouTube job and see no difference affair.

Damn.... The wait is killing me. I can't wait to replay this. Seems a bit silly that the titles I'm really looking forward to, are remasters: HALO, GTAV and especially The Last of Us.

If they are working on the game, that means its not gold yet thus released date being pushed out to some other month?

From what I understand, ND is still polishing this game and if they are still working on it, the game is not being printed or whatever into media yet. So um, anyone worried this wont make it this month?

Or is it that its done but they dont want to release media yet? Im sure I read that it wasnt "gold" yet. It was just a rumor or misunderstanding?
