This is one of my favorite gaming genres and its a crime that I haven't played Bayonetta 1 yet, might as well just wait until release. God I can't wait.

Out of curiosity, how is this game not on more platforms? Not port begging, just wondering how Wii-U managed to grab an exclusive sequel to a game that was originally on PS3 and 360, and no Wii-U version (until this bundle comes out).

It's just that it seemed natural for such a popular game to expand its consumer base, rather than migrate and focus.

Did Nintendo acquire the rights to the game?

Madama Butterfly is the usual Wicked Weave, but she never gets summoned in the original Bayonetta.

I think it's possible the one summon with the multiple fists might be Bowserified. I'll be impressed if they literally went out of their way to use either Bowser or Giga Bowser.

Would be hilarious if they changed certain summons like the Centipede/Millipede to a Wiggler.

I think that as far as we know, it was dead, and Nintendo stepped in to fund development.

Sega ran out of money, Bayonetta 2 was cancelled as a result. Nintendo needed more games to pad the WiiU, funded it as an exclusive. Its worked because I own a WiiU now if solely for Platinum Games titles, haha.

I volunteered for a Bayonetta 1 Wii U port OT just now. Don't want first time players (or just people replaying it) having to go through all the sequel posts just to ask a question. I will need help with it though for banner designs and such.

Correction. SEGA didn't believe in the title even though their marketing efforts were poor and they didn't want to give the game enough chances because it was a new IP. Because of this, SEGA didn't want to support the IP as they believe the market is not big enough and, of course, nothing is ever SEGA's fault as they believe they did a lot to support the first game. When Platinum wanted to make Bayo 2, SEGA refused to support them and gave the developers the runaround. Of course, this was also a domino of every other bullshit that SEGA did to them such as the crap effort they did to Vanquish, Madworld, and Max Anarchy. Tto make matters worse, SEGA refused to sell the Bayo IP back to Platinum without Platinum forking out a stupid amount of money. So in the end, Platinum Games was completed screwed out of an IP that they created wholly and truly... that was until Nintendo gained interest. In the end, Nintendo has to pay double, % to SEGA and % to Platinum Games. In fact, Platinum Games isn't going to generate lots of revenue from the sales of Bayo2 if it turned out a massive commercial success. SEGA will get free money from not lifting a finger, and if Bayonetta does incredibly well, SEGA will even more so never release the IP even though they know that nothing can be done with it without Platinum Games behind the wheel. It's fucked.

So yes, everyone should be thanking Nintendo right now because if it weren't for them, Bayo 2 would have not even existed for no other publisher was interest in funding the game and paying SEGA at the same time.

Without Kamiya's Space Harrier fetish getting in the way, we might be okay! This is why MGR is my favourite Platinum game. I guess you could count the Dwarf Gekko segment as its only extended mini-game, but that felt like a call back to MGS and it played well. All the extra stuff in Bayo 1 and W101 is just crap keeping me from playing the actual good game bits. W101 takes it to insane extremes.
