"Our special announcement is this: Ubisoft has taken away our very important status as the worst video game company in the industry. Without this status, we are without an identity. We have decided in light of this, to close our doors. Yes, that means we are cancelling Mirror's Edge 2. Goodnight, and farewell."

Since it appears to be tied to the Origin store, it almost has to be Origin related...

Orgin is getting intergrated into Steam to boost sales.

This is the optimistic assumption...

The pessimistic assumption is that EA Access is coming to Origin...

It's probably the latter.

Moore is accompanied by a legion of Sequel-era stormtroopers as he announces that Battlefront will include content from The Force Awakens.

Not really expecting much more than that, honestly.

the perfect Flashback Friday moment!

For real? I thought Sony and Disney were all buddy buddy atm. Doesn't seem like there's room for EA in that relationship.

Sony is tech company that makes games sometimes. Disney is in the business of making entertainment and now then can become a multimedia entertainment company.

They currently own two really popular things marvel and Star Wars and its be smart of Disney to branch out into other forms of entertainment for these properties while still cashing in on other game frachises and other companies under the EA umbrella. Imagine Star Wars battle front with Disney money behind it.

This is true. But, I thought one of Disney's mantras was to get out of gaming aside from Infinity/mobile, then again, with a new Kingdom Hearts in the future and the EA Star Wars games, maybe they've had a change of heart and decided that console gaming is worth it but the RISK was the part they hated (licensing their properties out to trusted devs would kill a lot of that risk, I think)

Makes sense. A Star Wars battlefront with Disney supporting it money-wise is very appealing.

Not sure if Geoff was being serious and this is an unannounced game or if he's being sarcastic and this is just Star Wars or Mass Effect.

They've bought Rockstar. GTA to be an annual franchise.

I like how GAF is mostly anticipating an annoucement related to ME.

Bioware is busy enough with DA:I and ME 4 - doubt they have the staff for ME trilogy remaster for current gen or ME trilogy in general...

Whatever it is. I know I'm going to be completely underwhelmed by it.
