Both versions look good and with distinct art, definitely getting both.
Here are some 3DS screens:
It's probably the main reason the PS4 version even exists. Is this coming to the US?
Was DQVIII this flat, I'm almost certain it wasn't but memory may be playing tricks on me? The 3DS version looks less flat but that's largely due to the nature of the beast.
The hair looks the same on both. The 3DS model has an over-sized head. If you're into chibi art, I could see why you'd prefer that version. It looks good too.
Both look great but I prefer the 3DS version. It has that perfect, charming DQ look to it. Something about the pseudo-realistic environments in the PS4 version doesn't quite suite me. I'm sure it'll grow on me though, but I was hoping for something more like Ni No Kuni for the PS4 version visually.
No thanks. This is about as good as I could have imagined it.I said it before, and i say it again, the PS4 version needs Cel-Shading.
It looks amazing... but also weird
I mean, it's like they're using different artstyles... ennemis looks cell shaded while the overworld seems to be semi-realistic with a weird lighting...
I refuse to play both versions. UGGHH
