I'm fine with a tiered release strategy as long as what content is and isn't available day one is made known in reasonable time before launch (not dropped on unsuspecting but assumptive consumers as they play the first time/watch the leaked French stream).
The fact map packs are free this time around mitigates late forge greatly. Just means the time it takes to see MM forge creations will also be delayed which is a good or bad thing depending on your opinion of forge maps. It does reinforce the trend of there being less value in buying games at launch now though. Unless you're desperate to play a particular game, why pay the most the game will be with likely the least amount of content it will have? Not to mention bad online launch days have routinely become bad weeks or even months as seen with MCC, battlefield 4 et al.

Only discounts on physical at MS store AFAIK ($10-15 depending on if you're a Xbox rewards member). If you use Bing rewards you can get Xbox store currency and use that to purchase Halo 5.

Yea, the game is severely lacking in content. I'm already out in front of this whole thing laying in the game aisle and kicking my feet with my arms crossed. I'll pass on the 20 maps designed by professionals to run around BrownFloatr69's maze a month sooner.
I don't know... I want to see the 2 Legendary assassinations first.

Not as cool as I would have hoped (have it preordered) it sounds like a plasma grenade on booting but I have no idea what the powering down one is, doesn't really sound halo-ish? I would kill for some monks on that thing.

My biggest Arena-related suggestion for 343 is to make it so that the Stance you have selected for your profile will show up during the end-of-match animation where the winning team of Spartans walks up to the screen.
Just give each Stance a second or two of animation from the standard spartan standing position to the selected stance, and bam, you've made the end-of-game animation screen even cooler than it was during the beta with the bro high-fives.
Right now it just looks bland. Not a huge deal but it would be a nice change. I'm sure 343 are considering it in a future patch.

Holy shit, that was sweet. Wasn't expecting that from Polygon. Aurthur Gies really likes how H5 is bringing melee combat in a big way with assassinations, spartan charge, and ground pound based on his article. This video really exemplifies that.

Damn, that's the first thing I thought of too. Imagine an RKO assassination. Just coming out of nowhere, RKO'ing them, doing the next. Game winning kill as well.
On an unrelated note, after missing out on being able to record so many sweet Destiny and Gears Ultimate moments, I found out I turned game captures and broadcasts off. It's why double tap guide and x did nothing. Now that it's enabled, I see the screenshot and video recording again. Can't wait to do some funny stuff in H5. Ground/Pound, Dash, Thrust, along with these zany weapons and assassinations in Warzone, you know there is bound to be great moments.

I'm pretty sure people have ripped the Halo 4 Chief model and put it on the Steam Workshop for Garry's Mod/Source Filmmaker. I'm sure someone could make one relatively easily, just need to find someone who knows how.
